What I like about Holmes was that he was more concerned with solving the case than racking up arrests. He was calculating and not driven by his emotions, but he was kind. He was as concerned with the well-being of the poor as he was his rich and influential clients.
The only versions that truly ressemble the books. Wonderful.
Conan Doyle may not have rated this little story among his favourite 12, but it's always been one my favourites. Nice to hear it again.
To the Carleton Hobbs supporters Clive Merrison & Michael Williams were the definitive Holmes & Watson on the radio.
I hope one day we get to hear Barry Foster when he played Sherlock Holmes on BBC Radio in 1978.
