Nicely timed…cup of tea, watching the Test Cricket listening to my favourite Sherlock….missing the biscuits 😃
Brilliant stuff. It certainly has got people expounding diverse views on this drama. Thank you ❤
This is one of my favorite TV episodes with Jeremy Brett
Was Clarence Gable played by Peter Wynguarde in that one?
It seems that the woman's only real "crime" was toying with the affections of a (apparently rather immature) young man, who then refused to leave her alone when she was tired of him. Resorting to violence and theft was, of course, wrong. But the young man did, rather, ask for it. The hired thugs who beat him up could just as well been some of her male relations. Typical Victorian sentiment, all from the male point of view. Yes, she was an opportunist, as was the prospective husband (the Duke) and his mother.
I flagged and reported it for violating our Community Guidelines. FWIW.
