- #BUTTERYBROS Get ready to witness the inspiring journey of Nick Mathew, a CrossFit athlete with a determination to make it to the top. In 2022, he was aiming to compete at the CrossFit Games, but it wasn't an easy road for him. In fact, he missed his chance to qualify by just a few points, but he didn't give up.
In an unexpected turn of events, Nick was given a second chance to compete in the CrossFit Games when another athlete was disqualified due to rules violation. It was a stroke of luck for Nick, but he knows he can’t rely on chance to get him to the top With renewed focus and determination, he’s ready to prove himself as a worthy competitor and make the most of this second chance.
But don't let his intense focus fool you - Nick's got a fun-loving side too. You'll often find him rocking a crop top in the gym, much to the amusement of his fellow athletes. He's not afraid to be a little bit different, and his positive attitude is infectious.

What a great episode - I loved how you focused ENTIRELY on Nick
This is what the community is missing! There are so many amazing athletes who have incredible stories that are never told!! Let CrossFit focus on the few high level athletes. Please tell the stories of all the other high level athletes in this sport that would never have their story known if you didn't tell it. Next go talk to Kelly Clark or Connor Duddy.

Buttery Bros., thank you for a video without the names -dottir, Toomey, Lawson, Ohlsen, O'Brien, etc. I want to see Shadburne, Houdet, Hapeleinen (sp?), Mertens, Loewen, etc. I LOVE the story of Nick Mathew. I hate the outcome for Phil Toon because I like the guy, but I really love seeing Nick succeed. He's such a joy to watch and he's so down to earth. My kind of people. We just love him. His tie with Gui in the sandbag event was FREAKING EPIC. Outside of Murph (and especially Josh Bridges's phenomenal win several years back) that sandbag event is my favorite of all time.
How about doing one of these for Jeffrey Adler? He's always up on the leader board but the man is still a mystery. So low-key but such an interesting athlete. I think this format would be perfect for him.
