Regarding the Log-in my youth I had Red OTTB and about 6 more horses, mixed breeds & (mares and geldings) once a year they would eat all the bark off of the chinquapin trees (there were about four small trees) The vet said not to worry, so I didn’t. The mare was a champion eventer, and lived into her thirties. Likewise, all of rest lived happy successful lives. There must be something to a little roughage in the gut.
Yep. With my little herd of minis, I was concerned as they tend to be fat on practically anything so must be careful not to feed them a lot of rich food. One winter I had noted that they were staying really fat and sassy and wondered how--they each got a single cup of oats daily (mostly to make sure they came up the house so I could check on them) and were fed prairie hay, a bit lower in protein than standard grass hay. Anyway, I was outdoors doing something when I heard this crunching noise. Looked around trying to locate it, and there was my little herd of miniatures down in the creek-bed, eating pecans off the ground, shell and all. Was concerned about founder or colic but the vet said not to worry, as long as they weren't eating gallons of them or something, and my farrier didn't see any hoof changes. And pecan shells are so bitter, how weird is that.
I wish you kept the comments on beautiful horse has become dangerous, because i wanted to tell you that you did a very good job with her. It's not up to you how they respond the young ladies have their own personality and a strong will that becomes a superpower of focus and attunement when they trust you and predict what you're asking from them. You earned her trust and affection with the flyspray at the end of the spray segment I saw a change in her demeanor when she "got" it... like her shoulders neck and feet said: "... oh... this bloke is trying to help me get rid of my ichy problem." She then redoubled her efforts to focus on giving you what you're asking from her. But adolescents are always prone to frustration when they think they did what you asked and are being "unfair". But your patience tells her no hard feelings let's try again. Great work overall! Really top notch. She could tell you cared and i could see how that got her mental gears spinning.
They chew the wood to grind their teeth down..... learnt this watching my horses in the paddock picking up a piece of wood from time to time that I left there for them once I observed their behavior. My horses were paddock horses.
This is my mud! For Palominos only.!Move your little red feet out of my mud damn it!!!! The Palomino hasn't quite learnt that less is more yet. He'd be taken more seriously without the amateur dramatics...but then I don't think he is that serious...its just a big game , showing off to his big sister Charlotte! Reminds me of my young gelding giving my mature stallion his " I'm bigger than u and wider than u, so what if you have the spuds pal!" Routine to draw him into a sparring match. Sometimes it works and they play, sometimes my stallion is too busy fantasising about mares to pay the gelding any attention!
The lighter horse is challenging the other horse, this could get dangerous for one of the horses if the other wont back down this behavior is dangerous and you ahould split them up.
They're definitely horsing around ❤❤❤
When Dad's away, the boys will play!!🤣💛
They were showing off for you, Charlotte!
I see Rolex is not having any of the action. He's the boss and the boys are working out who's next in line. Such a smart boy.
Rolex is a bit older and probably thinks he's too cool for that LOL!
Boys will be boys. Having a great time.
So much fun ! Chevy actually gave you a side eye to make sure you were watching. hahahahaha 💛Utah
Jimmy: You will not move my feet. You will not move my feet... 😆
Wonderful daughter Charlotte. The horses are gorgeous. Mum and Dad, so proud of you, for sure.

Jimmy is such a pest. 😂😂
He didn’t start it, poor Jimmy. 😔
Who’s the top horse there? Are they working that out?
Does Chevy want you all to himself?
Oh when are the girls supposed to foal????
