Sing for the Climate Belgium - Final clip

- Sing for the Climate is a big singing manifestation that first took place on September 22 and 23 2012 in Belgium. More than 80.000 people in more than 180 Belgian cities and communities sang the song "Do it Now", urging politicians to take more ambitious climate measures both on local, national and international level. This video is a synthesis of recordings that were made in all locations. The success of 'Sing for the Climate' proves that a mass mobilization around climate change is still possible even after the COP15 in Copenhagen.
But Belgium is a small country and climate change is global problem, which needs to be tackled on an international level. Therefore we appeal to local groups and organizations worldwide to organize their own version of Sing for the Climate.

My #1 fav song. I have quoted from it a couple dozen times and sing it to myself often. Our chorus introduced it to me. I was appalled I had never heard it considering my climate science studies, but USA, dang it, ignores me and our song. I will persist.

Hey it would be kind of nice if the video credited the original use of the music so it doesnt get erased: it's Bella Ciao (Goodbye Beautiful), a chant from the resistance who fought against fascism in WWII italy. I thought it was kinda important for you all to know that.

During the last phases of World War II, Italy was occupied by nazis and, while the contribute of the Allied forces was certainly helpful, the liberation (especially in northern Italy) was led by Italian partisans. Italian national holiday is precisely the Liberation Day on 25th April, to remember the dream of freedom of the ones who fought against the horror of fascism. Do your homework.
Well, I give you news: not all Italians celebrate April 25th. Only a few years ago the real story was known. The red partisans, those of communist ideology, killed even after the end of the war many innocent civilians suspected of being fascists, or at least not of communist ideology. In the following decades what caused communism in the rest of the world is very well known instead.
