  • Even after year of usage, its still not a bad idea to apply protective tape onto Scott Spark's frame. Simply because it's better than nothing. In this video I cover the whole process A to Z how Syncros frame protection is applied to the frame with an ease. Just grab some clear cloth, water spray bottle and bit of patience.

I wrapped my bike straight after purchase, gave it to profesional who wrapped it with self restorative film, after 2 years of riding bike shines (film) like new!

Its kind of two-fold situation, where from one degree things are made up to be used, and not being afraid of causing scratches! 😅 Well, thats what I usually think. But on the other hand, if you can make it both, look great and last longer - why not!!🤞🏻
The good thing when people don’t care about the scratches, is that it doesn’t heartbrake when those happens 😅😅🤞🏻

I`m doing the same thing now, as you said, better late than never and I got a good deal on the Tape :)))

Definitely its better than nothing, and better than never! Just make sure to clean it as good as possible, and spend enough time when applying it. Otherwise, if there is at least a tiny bit of air left - you will notice it sooner than later in a bad way. How do I know? Well, we will see in the future videos :D

@Tom10 Crafted ,don't scare me man:)
I managed to apply only one part on the downside of the frame during the day because of time deficit, and i had to do it a bit of quickly. Lets hope that i did a fine job.

@@ghostdog6471 I am here to bring peace and joy, nothing else!! :D Nothing bad will happen except that if applied in a rush, it will attract dirt in those areas :) Thus do it with patience and it will be fine !

And most of all you bring wisdom. Unfortunately I didn't manage to put the tape as nice as you did, but what the hell? I hope it's going to do the job.

It will be better than nothing for sure! And next time - next time its going to be even better, haha! Thats how we progress with things :)

I've made this application on a weekend - it was the worst experience Top tube protection corners don't want to stick, and that protection on the rear wheel from the inside .... Very nervous process 🤬 I hope it will protect 😝

Less stress, less nerves Ilja, it makes you older !! :DD But the top tube wasn't bad at all for me - maybe not enough water when applying? OR, because mine was already after year of usage, the surface was more sticky with micro scratches :)

Good video and timely. I just finished wrapping my Spart RC Team Black (matte carbon finish, glossy top tube). I didn't realize there was a Syncros kit. I cut my own and it was a lot of work.
I'm a bit bummed though: my top tube had glossy clear coat and matte "RC" logo from the factory. Once I wrapped the area with glossy film, the matte logo disappeared under the film. No longer visible.

Thanks for sharing! What type of tape have you used? Initially I also used custom pieces of clear protective tape to cover few areas on the bike (from Bike Discount). Yet, once I figured out how tricky it is to cut down proper angle of the tape that it would bend as needed..
While the syncros kit is not perfect in terms of protection areas covering the bike, its way more straightforward and less time consuming. Which leads to the price/quality ratio not in the cosmos like everyone says, compared how much time it takes to do it NEATLY on your own from scratch :)

@@tom10crafted I use ISC Racers Tape (Gloss) and Lamin-X film (Matte). The two feel a bit different but apply the same. I found using a heat gun (carefully to not overheat/burn film or frame) is key to being able to stretch and form the tape to the complex profiles off the frame without needing to cut reliefs in the tape.
Heat also helps with removal in the future.

Thats exactly what I was missing when applying 3rd party tapes - heat!

with bike stand it looks like pretty easy to apply 🤠

    • @tom10crafted

Without bike stand it wouldn’t be any different! There are many ways to stand the bike still - under the table, between the sofa, etc 😅😅😅
