Looks like a fabulous show. Would like to see all of it as I am housebound now and can’t get to the shows anymore.

You by any chance have a full version of the play or a full version of Gethsemane?

I’m total old-school have seen many many productions of Jesus Christ superstar, but never one with him playing the guitar. It just doesn’t fit only my opinion.

I'm actually disappointed how minimal staging is even in the 70's movie version the people were holding mic etc to "interview him" during "tell me Christ how you feel tonight" . This version they just hold stuff and as so far away from him. Good voices etc but man the staging could've been so much better just my opinion though

I agree. Like you, I’ve seen a few versions of this play. The set (one set - really - was that to save money), choreography, and costumes for this version look small and drab compared to all those others. The over the top glitz and glamour is missing. That was a fun part of the play. Last, the dancer’s costumes in the title number look horrible. They remind me of hospital gowns. The only thing missing is the tie and split in the back.
I will say that the singing and music is still good. At least they adhered to finding good vocalists.

I’m ok with the guitar, but dislike many other aspects of this version. The set (only 1?), costumes, and choreography all look very small and drab compared to the versions I’ve seen before. All the fun over the top glitz and glamour is missing. The worst costume sin is the one the dancers wear during the title number. Those look like hospital gowns. The only thing missing is the split down the back. On the positive side, the singing and music still sounds as good.

Maria' s voice sounds insecure and does not correspond to the text. I don't like that the actors stop acting because of the mics. It's not a concert. Take a Look at Jesus Christ Superstar in Eutin. Their show is amazing!

This just played in Cedar Rapids Iowa... same cast.. and sorry, I was underwhelmed. The actual microphones and stands were very distracting. The guitar, nope. The choreography was just weird... overuse of jazz hands... One of my favorite plays but this production was just "meh".
