I thought Roger was agreeing with Steve, not blaming him. Throughout the whole song Roger is addressing "Daddy" as a third person. I think the "you" in this sentence is Daddy, not Steve.

I prefer American Dad to Family Guy a lot more these days. I just find the characters a lot more interesting and dynamic. It still has its similar shitty qualities (racism, rape jokes, etc.) but aside from a few shitty jokes here and there, it's just an all around genuinely funny show, unlike Family Guy.
