I’ve got a 2023 CRF 250R. We got rid of the stock air filter set up and switched to a twin air powerflow kit, FMF full exhaust, and suspension of course. It definitely changes the bike for the better. We are also running aftermarket engine mounts which help handling and cornering. The other thing we did was swap the foot pegs out for some aftermarket’s with some more grip.

very similar......last raced in 2010, all so cal and WORCS gp's, tried street bikes but hate them so going back to moto after 15 years
all my time and money went to suspension and brakes, makes a huge difference.....ran ohlins fr/rr and it was very very good.....will be getting a 250f as well as I m 56 now and rode 450s before....even had CR500 and husky big bore 2 strokes way way back in mojave dezert days....
life is short so might as well have fun while were here, lol

I have two of these bikes and they are the most fun bikes I’ve ever had.
One is a ‘22 pro race bike but the other is a stock ‘23.
Don’t be afraid to use all the clickers on the suspension. The first day I had the fork comp. and reb. all the way out (already sprung for my weight). Then I took 20cc of oil out. Still too stiff. After investigating the valving I noticed the shim stack on the base valve was about 30% stiffer than “normal” stock stuff.
The only mystery is why they did it.
So a quick shim shuffle and 40cc less oil (330cc) and it’s like the old stock stuff.

I've just just sold my 2021 yz450 because iam to old for 450 (50).

Great videos you guy's. I bought mine new a couple weeks ago and love it. I've been riding since age 10 at 16 went to street bikes now I just bought my 10 year old son a kx65 and bought my bike so I can ride with him and it feels great to be back on a dirt bike. Then my 25 year old son buys a crf250 as well now we are all riding again. I'm 52 and keep my mapping in 3 as I feel I need the pull but you are correct this bike is super light and feels great. I'm so glad I chose the crf250r.

Wow I so agree with all your words specially with rideable bikes. I see so many guys struggling trying to ride a 450 that they are lost putting so much effort on riding it that they forget the basics. That why CRF 2024 250 was my choice because is the most lightest and less wider bike of all 2024. (Me coming from 2 strokes specially 125s)

I have 23 crf250rx and with the lighter springs, and valving the suspension is amazing for stock. I don't feel any of that harshness that everyone complains of on the R version and with just a few clicker adjustments that thing turns great. A lot of people don't like the extra width from the oversize tank but doesn't bother me as most of my riding has been with bikes with oversize tanks cause I'm 80% offroad 20% moto.

Thank you! Yea super unbalance lol. The stock rate is a .48 I believe. So whatever the next one down is from that .. it kind of “stinkbugs” on rougher tracks and likes to shake the back at the same time .. which is wild lol Hoping that getting it valves and sprung helps out to balance it a lot. I’ll keep you posted on how it goes!!
Picked up a 23 and put a couple hours on it. Sickest bike in the world. Love it. Im 5''8" as well. What number under the bar pad did you roll your bars back to? Position 3? 4?

That’s so awesome!!! Best of luck with it and keep us updated on how you’re liking it as time goes on. I just checked and my bars are back to around 3 I used to run a CR High bar back in the day. So I may try that as well, but I actually don’t mind the stock bend on the new Hondas so far!!

Is your rear chain guide bent? Why is your sprocket wearing like that?
That’s a great question ??? I’m not sure. I’ve seen some black sprockets wear like this. But they might be bent toooo lol!!

Tightening your steering stem nut just a little will help with headshake. Nobody likes a twitchy front end.
