  • FINALLY!!! I'm giving you my honest review of the Fire Bible, which has been my main study Bible for 5 years. I am very familiar with this ESV Bible so I'm giving you a walkthrough of what this Bible has to offer (it's a great study Bible for beginners), and what I like and don't like about this Bible. If you'd like to see how I use this Bible look below for recommended videos to watch.

    Just an FYI: I checked my purchase history and the Bible I'm showing you is the "genuine leather" and not the "bonded" leather. I linked to the bonded version in the description and not the genuine leather since I wouldn't recommend it for the reasons I show in this video.

    I never thought about study Bibles having a lean toward any particular doctrine, but that makes sense. Wow, Nancy. I love how they connect the dots with the themes. It's interesting because I grew up Pentecostal, but the church I first joined as an adult in charge of my own spiritual life was a Baptist church and now I belong to a non-denominational that tends to have a mix of people from all sorts of previous churches. I think due to the number of people on the broader scale who seem to be so intent on questioning all the things I grew up with that didn't seem to be so debated at that time (the movement of the Holy Spirit, the rapture, that sort of thing), I'm finding myself hearkening back to what I grew up on and a Bible that supports that makes sense to me. Thanks for such a thorough review!

      Hi Monica! I think the internet has made opinions and divisions louder these days. And because of that it is important to walk in much grace and honor for the whole church. I think the church agrees on more things than they disagree on but unfortunately that's not where the focus always lands. To be honest I haven't read every single article or study note in there so I can't say for sure if I 100% agree with everything. But from what I've studied so far it's a very balanced Bible...that's what another reviewer said about it - it's very balanced. Thanks for watching and sharing ❤️

      Hi Nancy! It's very true that we likely agree on more than we disagree on, but isn't it interesting how hard it is for us to live from that perspective? Being so divided (over secondary issues, most times) makes us more like the world than apart from it. 😢 But here's a question. I'm finally ready to start ordering the two new Bibles I want for next year, this being one of them. I don't typically do new Bibles just because it's a new year, but I'm going to do the chronological read again next year and I had planned to take my study to a deeper level. Then I was asked if I would lead a study while I'm doing the chronological read, which makes getting these particular study Bibles all the more important to me now. Do you have any thoughts on the Fire Bible Global Study edition?

    • @HisAncientWays
      @HisAncientWays  Před 7 měsíci

      @@monicadennis8206 It seems the Global edition is more specifically aimed at international audiences, hence using the NIV translation (1984 version which is better). The article I read said the Global edition has edited some of the study notes to remove cultural references - perhaps those of a 1st world American perspective? It doesn't sound like they added new or additional study notes. If it were me and I was making that decision and I didn't think I'd have very many international students I would probably choose the version that has the translation I want. Here's the article I found reviewing it: biblebuyingguide.com/review-fire-bible-global-study-edition/ Hope that helps 💓

    You have given one of the best "walk-throughs" I've ever seen of an excellent Study Bible! Thanks!
    However I do have a some issues of the Dakes Bible, but I do find that the Jack Hayford "The Spirit Filled Life Bible" is very good, but I also must upgrade to the 3rd edition of that Bible (after seeing the reviews), LoL!!!

      Thanks for that feedback! I really appreciate it. Since I've spent considerable time in it I can be more comprehensive. I had the digital version of the Jack Hayford a while back and remember liking it. I should take another look at it 😊

    Another great review Nancy! I bought this bible in the MEV translation about two weeks ago. I wonder if the notes are the same in the NLT, MEV and other translations of the fire 🔥bible? My bible collection has really grown in size! Thanks for another great review! Have a blessed 😇 day! ✝️😇🙏🏼😎💕💗🌸🌺🩷💚🩵❤️💜🩶🧡💛

      Oh that's a great question! I have no idea but I would suspect they're the same or very similar as most of the study notes are bit on the devotional side. I'm sure they differ slightly in the "referencing" of the notes based on the translation and maybe a little different when word studies are thrown in (I don't think there's much of that though in the Fire Bible). I didn't get the MEV because at the time I had no idea what it was 😆 But I've grown to like the ESV. I'm not currently looking for a new Bible but when I'm ready I might look very closely at an MEV because I honestly just can't do the KJV! Thanks for watching and sharing 😊

    Oh, dang. I was looking at this on Amazon but it’s written by Pentecostals… I think I’m going to buy the Word on Fire Bibles instead. They haven’t finished publishing all the volumes on the Old Testament yet, though.

      Pentecostal Bible; you are absolutely right! May I recommend the Great Adventure Bible instead?

    Thank you for the review. I am intrigued! I am really curious about the theme finder feature. It looks like a good for for me. I usually read nkjv or nasb. Which version in the fire bible would be the best fit for me?

    • @HisAncientWays
      @HisAncientWays  Před 9 měsíci +2

      I believe the ESV is quite similar to the NASB but might be a little easier to understand. The ESV is a literal translation so is great for study. The sentence structures make a little bit more sense than the NKJV. I had been using the same combo as you before switching to the ESV and I prefer the ESV now but I always have my NKJV on hand as well as a NLT. Thanks for watching and commenting ❤️

    I ordered one last week and received it. It was HUGE and heavy. Large print but it was a huge giant print.

    • @HisAncientWays
      @HisAncientWays  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Yes it is a bit beefy! I don't think I have the large print but it's not small by any means. I usually don't carry it around with me because it's so big. It's my stay-at-home Bible most of the time unless I'm taking it to a class. Thanks for watching and commenting ❤️
