TRUE LIES includes a 1080p Blu-ray.
so, the story with Red sonja was that Arnold kind of had a long and sometimes rough history with Dino De Laurentiis whom he had to win over to get Conan...in order to get Conan, Dino basically signed him to an exclusive contract to 3 Conan movies....because of his exclusive contract, he had to basically plead wiith Dino to get out of his contract so he could do Terminator and other films...the deal was he would have to do another action movie for Dino and do a CAMEO in Red Sonja...BUT what was supposed to be a cameo turned into him filming for a month!
So many movies I love which do not have a blu ray:
Distinguished Gentleman
Metro
Eddie (Whoopi’s movie)
Encino Man
The Son in Law
In The Army Now
Houseguest
The First Kid
Most of those are Hollywood Pictures or Disney in general
The Cherokee Kid which I have an HBO dvd of.
Chuck Norris movies
Hitman
Hellbound
The Cutter
Sidekicks finally made the jump though!!!
You're naming some BANGERS! Son In Law, In The Army Now, Metro, First Kid. All movies I would buy day one if they ever came to Blu-Ray.
speaking of HBO dvds, Mom & Dad Save The World needs a Blu-ray upgrade to.
@@thelastmoviestanding hopefully companies actually take notice to videos like this. If that’s the case then we could see these movies getting blu ray or even 4K releases before too much longer. Encino Man features two Oscar winners in the same year but no blu ray!
@@perryfan49 I hope so man
I just bought The Hitman on dvd, as I doubt it will ever get a Blu-ray.
I have the cutter on blu ray, think it's a German release, on a 3 pack with until death and the defender
@@bal5884 Cool. I didn’t know it had a German release.
Airborne for sure I loved that movie and another gem from the 90's is, The Air Up There, with Kevin Bacon.
Yea the Air Up There is soooo hard to find even on DVD, crazy!
Great fliks! And keeping with that 93 and 94 time frame Only the Strong with Dacascos needs a blu. Love that cheezy flik…Bonnonnaway lol
@@mikeward5192 I don't think i've ever seen Only the Strong, definitely adding it to my list. love Mark Dacascos
Definitely man it is great. The Europe release on DVD was uncut
i got the double feature of Last Boy Scout + Last Man Standing… looks fine to me and sounds fine to me… way better than DVD
but i think a 4k for last boy scout is not unlikely…
Just looked at JB HI-FI and they have Red Sonja available on both Blu Ray and 4K
It's normal the other way around here in Australia we get a DVD release and you guys in the US get the Blu Ray & 4K release
that's crazy lol yea I discovered half of these movies are all available on blu-ray outside the US. Ive been importing them like crazy from Germany lol.
I know Red Sonja has a 4k overseas but I've seen side by side comparisons & it looks so weird, the colors are off. We are getting a new Red Sonja remake movie they year so I'm hoping that means a new 4K soon. A new Blu-ray just got announced too I believe
Nice video as I have loads of dvds myself. The last boyscout is available on blursy over here in the uk you my be able to import it 👍
Thanks! & yea I discovered half of these are available through imports lol. I got A Good Year from Germany, Last Boy Scout from UK, & The Hitcher (2007) from Canada lol. I have a whole updated import video planned.
UK & Germany have SOOO MANY blu-rays that never came here to the states im discovering
Your list made me think of mentioning the 1994 sex comedy Milk Money, I'm super nostalgic for that and picked up the DVD this year. Seems like might be in your wheelhouse. I also randomly thought of that fantasy romance movie Beastly from 2011, are you a fan of that one? That has a blu and I need to pick it up. Mainly a horror/scifi/action collector but if it's a weird romance type thing I can get into it.
I know Milk Money, I strangely don't own it, I've only seen it once, I need to revisit it & find it on DVD.
Beastly is not really my thing lol seen it once, loved the concept, really liked Mary Kate (or Ashley lol) in that role she played. I wouldn't mind revisiting it. I learned to always give something a second chance after a few years.
Good video. Not sure if you are aware, A Good Year is available as a bluray from Fox in a few European countries. You should be able to easily import it.
The Last Boyscout is available as a single release bluray here in the UK by Warner Bros.
Thanks! & yea I discovers half of these are available through imports lol. I got A Good Year from Germany, Last Boy Scout from UK, & The Hitcher (2007) from Canada lol. I have a whole updated import video planned. Thanks for the info though!
Wtf really I had no idea lost boyscout was hard to get on blu. I’ve got it on blu with last man standing. I bought it at a 7/11 for 8 bucks a few years back lol
@@mikeward5192 I found that version after I made this video lol bought it, then a few weeks later found the UK blu & bought that too cause I hate double features with 2 different movies hahaha
Yeh tbh the transfer was pretty subpar on that double feature. I saw last boyscout in theaters back in the 90s, great time. The thing with boyscout is it may be an action film but it’s so damned funny. Love that film, next to die hards one of my fave Willis flix
@@mikeward5192 its my #1 Tony Scott film, everyone goes to Topgun, I go to Last Boy Scout. that scene about the $650 leather pants is my absolute favorite lol
Scream factory has a Red Sonja remastered bluray release this summer
yea I heard, im stoked & also curious why no 4k since Studio Canal has a 4K overseas.
So many good films are only on dvd I still collect VHS for that same reason. 6 days 7 nights I have on VHS and fun but I didn’t upgrade. Studio Canal did the Red Sonja 4k easy import through Amazon. I always heard Arnold was tricked into the movie he was supposed to do a small scene and next thing he was in the whole movie. Captain Ron is so good I hope we get a 4k soon. Not sure if we will get any of the sequels unless a box set gets released or a boutique label does it.
I have Six Days Seven Nights on VHS too lol I have a whole VHS video coming out soon i'm working on.
Yea I was going to get the Red Sonja 4k import but heard the color timing was way off & I know there is a new movie coming out soon so Im waiting to see if a 4K comes out. I know a new Blu-Ray just got announced for Red Sonja.
Caption Ron is my shit!! needs a Blu, praying for a 4K
@@thelastmoviestanding looking forward to it. Hit me up if you ever want to collab about VHS collections it seems a younger generation is finding VHS like they did with Vinyl.
@@80sMadeConsumer im down!
Love that hitcher remake!
I got it on HD-DVD from the UK and now on blu ray from Germany… but you can get it also in Canada via Aliance and in most countries in europe…
I also prefer it over the original…
Red Sonja has a great new 4k via studiocanal in europe…
I found the Canadian blu-ray of The Hitcher remake at a thrift store a few weeks ago for only $15 & grabbed it! lol is crazy over priced on eBay. I'm glad im not alone in liking it over the OG lol I thought I was alone.
Yea I know about Red Sonja but have seen video clips of the 4k on CZcams & the colors look really bad. I think a new Blu-Ray just got announced here in the US coming soon. I may just get that.
a good year is amazing!
it‘s out in germany on blu ray…
I love A Good Year! & yea I found a few of these on blu-rays that you have to import after I made this video lol I got the Germany blu-ray a few weeks ago & it looks AMAZING!
I too have a very large collection of DVD's. For the most part many of then are just fine and really don't need an upgrade to Blu-ray or even a 4k. Just no reason for that. With that said the DVD version of Sic days Seven nights, it was a very well shot, excellent story, j ust fine on DVD but I would love to see it on Blu ray especially if some addition material is added. Part of reason to own media and not stream. Thanks for your content.
completely agree! Six Days Seven Nights is 1 of my all time favorites. I own the DVD but still watch on VHS every now & then cause I just love the movie. Its got an HD version on streaming which looks really good too but I cut all streaming ties (minus Amazon) lol
Holy crap, someone else remembers Rose Red! It was made for TV so it won't break my heart if it stays on DVD--upscalers seem really good these days. But I also won't complain if this gem gets the upgrade!
I LOVE Rose Red! The only Stephen King movie besides The Shining I really like it.
Don't Tell is a great one, I own the DVD as well. It was put out and I think is owned by HBO and a lot of the old stuff put out by HBO has yet to make it to blu or 4k. I think Warner Discovery may own that stuff? Also I've heard talk there's potential issues with the music soundtrack rights that the studio doesn't want to pay royalties on to reissue the film on blu ray.
They have a remake of Don't Tell coming out soon... ZERO interest in it hahaha, but hopefully we will get a blu for it to promote it lol
Club dread should get a scream factory release
fortunately, the 4k has revived movie upscaling lately A lot of old flicks going to be re-released. I just watched the last Boy Scout great movie. I like the 90's movies also. I have to admit there are a couple of your movie selections I have not seen.
The Last Boy Scout is soooooo good! Yea 90s movies are my favorite, im probably bias cause that's the era I grew up in.
A lot of these I have found on Blu-Ray in other countries, & yea 4K upscaling now is pretty insane.
Dukes of Hazzard got a HD-DVD version doesn't make since it didn't get put on a bluray seeing as it won the format war.
dude I LITERALLY just found this out about a week ago lol. I found a copy on eBay & have seriously been debating getting in but then I would have to get an HD DVD player. Do you know if HD DVDs will play on region free players? or no?
got the dukes on HD-DVD!
I thought about getting it on HD DVD, but couldn't justify it cause I don't have a player for it lol
Stakeout is not on blu ray as far as I'm aware, the second one is for some reason
dude I see Another Stakeout on blu-ray at thiftstores all the time & its always $2.99 lol I can never find the 1st 1. makes so much sense now
@@thelastmoviestanding Crazy mate, stakeout is a classic, keep up the good work 👍
Last boy scout is available on blu ray it's been out for like 12 years here in the UK
Yea I discovered that after this video lol I actually discovered more than half of these are available on BR in Germany 🤦♂
We have Last Boy Scout here too on BR but it's in a double pack with Last Man Standing , bought that, then discovered it had a UK solo BR, so I literally just about that too about a week ago lol
A Good Year is a great movie. The soundtrack is fantastic as well. I got the Blu-ray from Germany but it doesn’t look remarkably better than the dvd. I’m still happy to have it tho. Return to Me is on the same level as this. Great movie with a great soundtrack with no Blu-ray 😢
oh i completely disagree lol I just got the blu-ray of A Good Year from Germany about 2 weeks ago & love the transfer, personally haha. I think it's way better than the DVD. I actually talk about it in my next video about imported blu-rays. Ive been importing a lot from Germany lately
@@thelastmoviestanding ok-I popped it into my 4k player. I stand corrected. Looks way better than in my region free Blu-ray player. IM SO HAPPY
@@sherrywaters3775 that's great to hear! It worked region free on my playstation 5 so I haven't watched it on my region free player yet. I'll have to put it in & see if I see a difference.
I do agree with your list. I'll never understand how they pick and choose what movies get a blue ray. I've seen some real turds 💩💩 that made it to Blu-ray and 4k.
that's an understatement 😂it baffles me sometimes how some of these aren't on Blu here in the US, though I have found around half of these on Blu in other countries i've had to import
Another movie to add is - "Men in White" (1988) - it's not on bluray/dvd, it's like the world wants us to forget it
lol I've never even heard of that movie, just looked it up, its a TV movie. there are so many great made for TV movies we need on Blu-Ray
The Hitcher has a BluRay. I just ordered from Walmart. Umbrella Entertainment released it.
Umbrella has the original 1986 blu-ray of the hitcher, not the 2007 remake (that I am aware of).
But yea a few of these titles I actually found on blu-ray in the foreign market. I just got the Hitcher recently from a thrift store, it was the Canadian release. Last Boy Scout I just got the UK release, & A Good Year I just got the German release lol
I have the hitcher 07 on blu ray
@@JeffDuperron I just found a copy a few weeks ago. a Canada copy
Michael Bay was a music video director as well. I also prefer the remake to the original Hitcher.
Friday after next got a blu but it’s out of print, same with 6 days 7 nights
really? are you sure they're not just bootlegs?
Yeh I’m positive on those, I was actually just looking for Next Friday about a month ago and was dumbfounded that it was nowhere to be found. I asked one of my movie plugs if they can get it and there distributor verified that the blu ray is long out of print. Friday after next as well. There are listings on amazon for them but even those are incredibly hard to find. I did come across Friday after next blu on amazon used but was after next Friday so blew it off. It vanished a few days later. There is a uk blu of Next Friday I found on eBay uk but I hate importing unless it’s directly
From a distributor so just settled for the DVD……With 7 days it got a
Very limited blu release and then went oop. I’ve got the full blu ray that I downloaded off the net so no it exists or existed. I have a feeling that will be reissued or get a 4k at some point. But the Friday films I think there is some kind of copy right nonsense going on
the dukes of hazzard has a HD DVD release
I discovered that after I made this, seriously considered grabbing the HD DVD on eBay, but I don't have a way to play it lol
Ok i have 2 that i was forced to buy on dvd Shopgirl and Deadly Pursuit, Tom Berenger, Kirstie Alley & Clancy Brown.
The only way to physically own Dukes of Hazzard in HD is on HD DVD, unfortunately it's a Warner released and they suffer really badly with disc rot.
yea I saw that, I legit considered getting it on HD DVD but didn't want to have to invest in a player just for 1 movie lol
I thought I was the only one that prefers the 2007 Hitcher over the original.
me too man lol I just found it on bluray at a thrift store, the Canadian version
@@thelastmoviestanding good find! I've had my eye on that version for awhile but it's usually fairly expensive online.
@@adamdbowman yea it was only $15. I was shocked when I found it. Online people are overcharging like crazy for it.
The Last Boy Scout does have a Blu-ray but it's shitty, so a 4K upgrade would be amazing.
ye I found half of these did have blurays after I made this, mostly all from Germany or other countries. I got Last Boy Scout & A Good Year on blu-ray. Last Boy Scout definitely needs a 4k though!
Have owned The Hitcher and The Dukes of Hazzard on HD DVD for many years now. Good times.
I just got the Hitcher import from Canda on Blu-Ray & I ALMOST got the Dukes of Hazard HD-DVD but I don't have an HD DVD player & didn't wanna go through that hassle so im just going to wait. praying Dukes get a Blu release soon
baby sitters dead is long over due.
agreed!
I have 7300 in my collection
🤯🤯🤯🤯 WOW! lol Legend! I only have 1,675 (movies) not including double copies I have like VHS & DVD packages I keep on display lol
some other movies that don't have blu-rays

yea im planning a part 2 really soon. Thanks for this list though! I'll make sure to look through it when as I plan my picks.
Just Friends I just got on Blu-ray from Germany. That 1 was definitely on my list before I found the import.
Kids is on Bluray too, Umbrella did it. It's an Australian Blu-Ray but I believe region free.
Movie review by the critics on rotten tomato 5%
Must see movie
Movie review by critics on rotten tomato 99%
Must avoid movie
100% agree!! lol I actually have a video coming out soon comparing Speed 2 (a movie I love & everyone hates) that has a 4% on rotten tomatoes, to others films that actually had straight to dvd sequel that have much higher ratings 😂
Death Sentence (2007) needs a proper bluray release with unrated cut. Kevin Bacon, James Wan.... how has this not been released properly on bluray? Also Kickboxer 2 needs a bluray release.
totally agree, I actually found out Death Sentence does have a blu-ray overseas, in the UK & Germany
@@thelastmoviestanding Yeah, it does. I've had the UK bluray since it came out, but it's not full 1080p, it's 1080i and is only the theatrical cut. I think either the French or German bluray is 1080p but once again, only the theatrical cut. To watch the unrated version, you'd have to watch the US region 1 DVD.
@@FightEvilcom oh man that's good to know about the UK version. I just looked it up & you're right, it says 1080i on bluray.com 🤦♂I will probably order the German copy.
Thats the same with Die Hard 4, only the Uncut version is on the DVD. I also had to import Mel Gibsons Payback from the UK cause I prefer the theatrical cut over the directors cut & the US bluray only has the directors cut, where UK has both
@@thelastmoviestanding There are multiple bundles for the Die Hard movies on bluray here in Australia. The bundle which has the orange cover art has the uncut version of Die Hard 4 on bluray. I have it and watched it about a month or two ago.
@@FightEvilcom lucky! lol that's why ive been importing A LOT lately. other countries get better versions of movies on blu
Club dread should get a scream factory release
