- www.RoadTestTV.com Drag Race between a 2019 BMW M5 Competition Package and a 2016 Porsche 991 Turbo (non S). The M5 is powered by 4.4 Liter Twin Turbo V8 motor which makes 621 horsepower and 553 lb/ft of torque when stock. However, the M5 has a JB4 Piggy Back Tune and Open Cine Air Filters which should increase the HP of the M5 to approx. 700 HP.
The 2016 Porsche 991 Generation 1 Turbo is powered 3.8 Liter Twin Turbo Flat 6. The 991.1 Turbo is rated at 520 hp and 524 lb-ft of torque when stock; however, the PORSCHE has a Cobb Tune.
Both cars are AWD and due to their power levels, traction is a non issue.

I think all of us (including me) will soon be eating crow. That M5 has a lot of potential, but the driver getting down the timing of the tree is going to be AWESOME. There's half a second in the tree timing and she's going to have us in awe in no time.
Do your thing Ms. drag racing M5!
No there isn't a 1/2 second, do you understand how timing at a drag strip works?? It doesn't start counting until the car moves, has nothing to do with those tree lights counting down.
Eating crow how ? It’s heavy
Picked up my new M5 over the weekend! Couldn't be happier!
Typically the reaction time to the tree does not effect the time displayed at the end. It was probably not set for Heads Up... for those that are freaking out.
on the 2nd run the M5 had me crying tears of pride and joy (i want one)
Great job! This was fun to watch.
Dominic : I need a 10 second car
Me : "points to video" u got it buddy
Those air filters look like they’re sucking in a lot heat. Lol
That beamer is something else.
I think it’s an impressive showing for the M5. 10.79@130 in 2200 DA with a piggyback tune and I am assuming 93 octane gas. That’s very good. Don’t care about the light she cut because that’s no reflection on the car.
Gotta have me an M5 Comp!!!
Yes ,M5 please. Thank you
Cool vid - not sure about the M5 but the Turbo's performance for a Cobb tuned car doesn't seem right. I have the exact same (2014) 991.1 TT (factory stock) and I was considering a Cobb Stage 1. Today, in my current stock state, I managed 10.915s @ 124mph on pump 93, and I note that this Cobb tuned TT is running similar numbers to my stock TT - something doesn't add up! Tires, fuel, etc?
The tune is definitely working.. M5 comps are not doing sub 11 sec stock... nice run!!!
bmw is damn sexy lol
gtpro83 21 you mispelt porsche
@@jeffrey-f lol cars are like women everyone ha a type
i'd take a porsche too!!
gtpro83 21 lol i’m just messin
Phenomenal
Why is it that in the USA these 1/4 mile time ratings are achieved and yet the exact same cars in Australia pull slower times?
The new M5 here pulls a very low 12sec without launch control and with launch control a 11.7
Its weird
Humidity, temperature and road conditions perhaps? Humidity and temperature affects the fuel air mixture while road conditions affect grip.
In the US there is nitro in the air
Do you happen to know what the two cars weigh?
The Porsche weighs about 3600 lbs and the M5 is about 4400 lbs.
@@roadtesttv 4000 lbs and 700 bhp should be good for 10.4 @ 130 -- but don't know how all wheel drive changes the calculation.
Mandolin1944 it hit 10.6 at 132 last night
They should've had a tiebreaker
Good runs but 991 Turbo S should be faster and trap higher than that with a tune. Those are stock numbers it was putting down. I know 2200 DA but damn. Lol
It was a turbo - not turbo s
@@vette-air911turbos3 Oh ok
@@vette-air911turbos3 Turbo with a tune makes more power than TTs w/ stock.

Why you didn't get enough likes so sad
All the power and launch control in the world isn't going to help that BMW driver's reaction time. I've seen glaciers react faster.
BMW 😈❤🔥
Lmao that guy literally can’t even launch snd beat him the second time
Please make this race happen again with different drivers and correct starting time
yeah yeah!!!
Thought the BMW would be faster with Mods. Still fast, though.
The DA didn’t help much as most cars were off by .2 tenths and 2 mph. Should be good for a 10.5 at 132. Thanks for watching
@@roadtesttv Oh, lol I guess I missed that part. Whoops.
Road Test TV what fuel used in m5?
nvygw171 260 but I was just testing still. I forgot to put it in sports mode on one of them. So I didn’t even really launch good 🤓 it should do way better 😊
Anna Blue You did amazing, Anna. With better weather, the car should dip in the 10.4 - 10.5 range easily. 👍
M5 takes long naps at the tree😏
Woman driving the Beemer
Very bad reaction time from the f90 driver
It doesn't matter though, time starts counting when car moves.
All those driving assist engaged and can't cut a light to save his life.
Fail
Lol... go easy ... it was actually a girl driving the M5
@@roadtesttv can you just imagine the shit you could cause some feminists to go nuts for that comment?
I'm one who thinks men are generally better at cutting lights, but, in today's PC world, that's where we are. Ashley Force didn't hold back..or, maybe she does have testicles 😛
Hope the M5 driver gets it down with some practice. With a proper ECM/TCM tune, sticky tires and some E85, I would think high 9s are a realistic goal
Thanks Justa. Wasn’t meant to to imply anything other than to correct your assumption that a guy was driving when you said “can’t cut a light to save HIS life”. No matter who was driving, we give them credit for modding a brand new car and taking it to the track. Also, we agree that the car can run a better ET with more practice and better DA. The hot air intake isn’t helping either. Thanks again for watching.
www.bmwblog.com/2019/02/26/video-tuned-bmw-m5-competition-drag-races-tuned-porsche-911-turbo/ saw this stupid article stating that the M5 was not using launch control when clearly it was. Don't get me wrong, I'm a BMW owner myself but when idiots write articles and can't even see the obvious than GTFO cause you shouldn't be writing anything. Watch closely and you'll see the M5 in BOTH runs hunker down and rev up, that's launch control right there idiot. The only reason why the second time was better was cause he had a better launch where as the Porsche boggles at the line a bit thus a slower ET. I'd still buy a M5 over a Porsche regardless
Actually, we were there and spoke to the owner. She did not put it in launch mode on the 11.05 run. When in launch mode the car has a slightly different map and also shifts differently. Notice there is a 3 tenths and 3 mph difference between the two runs despite the 60 foot being nearly identical. The reason the M5 is hunkering down on both runs is that the F90 M5 has an 8 speed auto trans that you can torque brake in or out of launch mode. Thanks for watching !!
It’s not accurate rubbish
Porsche jumped a start by miles
Green means Go.
Waste of 130gs
You have a welfare ghetto low life Dodge product with a 60s interior and reliability of a tin can toilet. The very fact that you made such as naive comment tells everyone your poor, likely making payments on your garbage straight-line junk.
Porsche - its whats for dinner
