- Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds is one of the most prolific songwriters of all-time. Over the course of a career beginning in the late ‘70s, he has earned 11 Grammys while writing and producing over 26 No. 1 R&B hits. Babyface recently drew on his experience as the co-founder of LaFace Records to start a new music publishing group called Good Vibes. I have tears in my eyes hearing him talk about the Jackson 5 and MJ. My goshhhh legendary. I have chills
Who can say Mariah Carey was my back up singer? I love the story about him doing whatever he could to meet Michael. I was so in love with this man.....still loving all the music he touches.
That Michael Jackson story is amazing ! He is such a go-getter.
I’ve been a Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds fan since the late 80’s. I got to say that you did a great job with this interview. You definitely did your homework on the man.
You actually asked some really good questions. Not the typical questions that most ask when they interview him. Keep up the good work brother. I still hope that I can meet Mr. Edmonds one of these days.
Babyface, Bruno Mars, that's too much talent in one room! I would love to have been there for that!😍
It already happened 2 days ago.. They sang Everytime i closed my eyes and lots of Boyz 2 men songs. 😍😍😍
Andre harrell actually told him to work with babyface after his song uptown funk, he went over to babyface house and worked there for 6 weeks on his 24k magic album.
What's the time stamp when they were talking about bruno?
He's so great and yet so humble.. Thanks for all the great music!
Maaan, he's so humble. I guess that's one of many reasons he's so successful.
This dude is a bonafide legend
As a songwriter, I throughly enjoyed this. Thank you for this interview.
This man can be interviewed for hours. This interview is an hour long and there are soo so many things to talk abut with Baby face
Can you imagine a Sade and Babyface record?......
That would be wonderful
Listening to the D-Word from Toni Braxton album i can hear the vibe. Sade would be incredible on a Babyface Record (track) for you youngsta's
@@CZcams82123gw and powerful
The "Sade sound" is a unique sound that's made up of Sade the singer (vocals/songwriter) and Sade the band (musicians/songwriters)...and it's *that* combination that makes Sade *Sade!*
...and if it ain't broke...
The population will quadruple
Babyface is one of my all time favorite songwriters. Thank you for this interview, one of the best I've heard him give. Thanks for posting!!!
Babyface and Sade album... wow even angels would make babies in heaven!
Love Babyface definitely a legend
Awesome interview and massive respect to the interviewer
It’s crazy how teddy Riley and baby face competed
AND, they both produced on Bobby Brown's DON'T BE CRUEL album and the rest is history.
Baby face looks so young and he still so cool and laid-back
A living Legend, someone who is so interested rather than trying to be interesting. So respectful of those who he has worked with and looking toward who he could still work with in the future. Focused on what's important and what a great interview. You captured him in the best way possible.🐨👏🏻
We need a BabyFace biopic...
Yes! I agree!
TODAY
Yes we do! It should be a miniseries.
Wesley Jonathan played him in that Whitney Houston vh1 bio pic i believe, he actually looked like him
Here in 2020. This journalist is great
Face is so mellow & humble you wouldn't know he went platinum over 200 times. #HUMBLE
Kenny is such a cool guy
Babyface is a great storyteller!
He is so fine 🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
He really is though!!! I don’t know how Toni does it????!!!!
I enjoyed that interview very much. Baby Face is so talentive, gentleman and auch a genius. Every song he wrote or produced and sung is timeless💜💜💜💜
This video should have more views!!!
Rheachelle exactly what I am thinking 🤔 a year later 🤔😭😭
I was thinking the same thing !
I agree 100 percent.
Dido, shocking really considering the influence the man had and still has. You would have thought anyone writing and producing would have watched it in their down time for inspiration and maybe some tips. Anyway. Pearls before swine.
This is the best interview I have ever seen.
“For The Cool In You” Was my joint!
Mine too!
When they say "you can't have it all" dont believe it. Babyface is handsome, humble, soft as wool, talented and he is RICH.
Blessed is the lady who has this guy in her life😍
Living legend ""truly one of the most greatest musicians in d universe """

What a beautiful interview, enjoyed it so much. Have always been a fan of Babyface artistry and him as a person, so humble and just straight forward. I hope the universe can bring him together with Sade. 💫♥️🙏🏾
We owe our love for rnb to this man right here 🙌🏽
The interview was amazing. I was always aware of After 7 music. I heard the name Babyface but didn't pay any attention. Now I can't get enough of Kenneth Brian Edmonds. Never knew his formal name. Now I know his name and I will become a member of his fan club as soon as I can find one. I adore Kenneth's talent and skills . Kenneth and his brothers have given us so much with their music.
The Michael Jackson story is too funny. I'm not gonna cry is my jam on that Album. He is so honest and on the level he is you think he have a big head. This is the first time i have seen this guy interview hes good the interview is great.

One of the goats of singing songwriting and producing he's just all-around amazing and talented
Face’s story telling is impeccable, explains he’s song writing skills!
11:05 he was right about r&b back then it use to he about romance not it's just about sex
A true class act
I would be scared to work with a legend like Babyface or La Reid
Robi oceanna Lewis don’t forget Darryl Simmons also. He was third man silent partner. La, BAbyface and Darryl Simmons.
Good journalism, great questions.
Wow!!! The video is over but I’m still starring at my screen like 🤔👁!!! This was really powerful....👏🏿👏🏿👏🏾🇿🇦
LEGENDARY BABYFACE NUFF RESPECT BLESS
He’s one of my musical role models! Legendary artist!
“There She Goes” was a lowkey jam. Two “super producers” in Babyface & Skateboard P. coming together to bless that track. 👍👍🔥
It is a very underrated song 🎵
Both ageless aliens. 🤔
The song that shows the "melody" I think is Ready or Not After 7. It just flows. The GOAT Babyface
Awwweeeee He stayed loyal to Queen Whitney 45:45 🥰
This is a good, no this is a great interview. I gotta give props to Babyface in being such a good story teller, in both song and in this interview. Moreover, it's a great job by the interviewer, who didn't get in the way! Nice job gents!
This is an amazing interview
I truly enjoyed this interview.
14:30 for Michael Jackson story

He's super Dope... If I ever did music I would want him to be my producer for sure!
Writing with Daniel Caesar wow! Can't wait!
Joojo Cobbinah do you know the time stamp?
What a great interview and class act Babyface! Kenny Edmonds
After graduating from college, I drove across country to my new job LA in my brand new 🚗…I had only two cds at that time: Babyface’s “Tender Lover” and Tears for Fears’ “Songs from the Big Chair”. I wore those two cds 💿 out! I learned and sang every song on Tender Lover but my favorites were “Sunshine” and “Where Will You Go?” I knew then that Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds was that dude! To this day, I can hear a new song and I can tell if it was produced by Mr. Edmonds! I love his talent, generosity and humility.
AMAZING Interview.
Great Interview, Legend doesn't begin to describe this dude.
We gotta give Pharrell props for writing a song for Babyface. Who in the hell can say that??

Sade/Babyface !!!! MAKE IT HAPPEN
Loved his music ever since I heard him with the Deele and Two Occasions, his own music career as well his career as a writer and producer is just epic. My favorite track of his is Take A Bow with Madonna. Kenneth’s backing vocals where perfection and so on point.
Legend.
When he said Johnny Mathis reached out I was finished, it don't get more legendary than that, OMG, I wonder though is Kenny this humble or is some of it an act!!
Legend
This was such an amazing interview. He asked some of the best questions I've heard in interview in the longest time. Also, who is the fools who gave this thumbs down... thumbs down to you.
