It’s also really doable as well, providing they’re game to do it - you’d only need 4 people; Bruno on vocals and guitar, Anderson on vocals and drums, Thundercat on bass (and vocals if 3-part harmony was required) and Anderson’s main keys player (don’t know the guy’s name but he’s great) doing keys. That would be an awesome Tiny Desk!!

I'm a bigger fan of Anderson by a small percentage, but my respect for Bruno just went up in orders of magnitude. Interviewer was leaning more towards Anderson because he was partial to Anderson as an artist (he mentions early in the interview), but Bruno was so gracious and humble, he didn't even seem threatened by it. Now that's a man's man. No insecurities. I fks with you now Bruno 100%.
I think Ebro was just trying to show the audience who may be still unfamiliar with Anderson how dope he is and his contribution vs being partial to him. But Ebro is a known Bruno stan. He just didn't want to make it all about Bruno I think.

I really do hope this is forever! Im already ready for the tour and second album. This album was truly magical. Music that makes you feel something is very rare now and thats why this project was so special. I love their work individually but i really do hope they come together every few years and do this traditionally.
I hope so too. But it takes years for Bruno to release an album so if he plans to have a solo album it may take 6 years for another silk sonic project 😭

I was lucky enough to be the sound mixer for this interview. I’m so happy how well this turned out; they were amazing in the studio for this interview and the stuff they said in between that didn’t make it that was just as if not 1000% funnier. These cats are amazing.

You guys don't know how "LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN" moved me. The power of that old harmony coming to life in Anderson Paak and Bruno Mars when you sang "tell me that you're coming through" I burst into tears. I'm 63 yrs. old and was a singer/performer who sang from his heart in my 20's 30's and 40's. I'm from Indianapolis and I enjoyed singing at weddings and special events, also , funerals being a Christian man. Grown men would be in tears during some of my appearances at weddings and funerals. This happened only because they could hear the heart felt emotion coming out in my GOD GIVEN talent. I thought I would never hear that again . And when you guys collaborated on LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN, I couldn't stop crying. YOU GUYS KILLED IT. I haven't heard that type of harmony and soul and passion, in years. I felt like I just fell in love again. I'm tearing up again so I better stop. BRUNO I LOVE YOU, ANDERSON I LOVE YOU. GO DO IT AGAIN!!

As a child of the 70s and 80s, who was nurtured to have and has nurtured an eclectic love for music in my own children, this album is EVERYTHING!!! I wish my Daddy were still here to hear this masterpiece, but I’m thankful that I can share this moment in music history with my sons. Bravo!!!

This album did the impossible. Hear me out. I have a drum student (I have many, but this one in particular), he’s never particularly enthused about much: life, drumming, music. We’ve been working on Fly As Me. I often play together with my students & to get in the mood of a performance I turn off the lights, turn on the stage lights to create an atmosphere. We’re playing it and I look over and his shoulder’s are moving, his head is bobbing, he IS GROOVING OUT to this amazing tune. I’ve NEVER seen him get into anything before. My god, this album has restored my faith in humanity. I wish Spotify would give Mars & Paak $100m to make another instead of, you know. Best album I’ve heard in ages.

Wrote this in an academic paper earlier last year. Bruno and Paak are changing the music industry. Bringing in advanced chord progressions and arrangements, organic instruments, and retro showmanship will pave the way for a new wave of artists that will choose an acoustic drum kit over some 808s.

An Evening With Silk Sonic in Las Vegas - there isn't one word to describe how phenomenal the show was. If "everything about this album feels like family" - that is exactly what it was. Generations dancing, singing and experiencing the absolute mastery of Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak They laid it down so hard. It was perfection.

If you saw him walking down the street you would never guess that voice is hiding in him. I would put his voice up against ANY of the greats. IDC who they are.
This is the greatest collaboration ever. At least one song on this album HAS to win a Grammy. Two great music minds coming together, only magic can happen.
The crazy thing most people don't realize is the music from the album as a whole will have a shot at the next two Grammy's. "Leave the Door Open" (which will surely get a nomination) and "Skate" were released before the cutoff date for the 2022 Grammy's, which means "Smokin Out The Window" and the album will be eligible for the 2023 Grammy's

I know this comment is super late but I just came back from Vegas with my girl. Hands down the best concert I have ever been to! These guys are musical geniuses!
This interview shows exactly how they are in real life. I saw them in Vegas in August and was fortunate enough to get invited to their private after party where I was able to meet both of them! Got a hug from Andy and a Blown kiss from Bruno! A night I will never forget. Had a magical conversation with Eric, Bruno's big brother who was so humble, kind and real. I tried everything in my heart to respect our conversation and not bring up Bruno so I could show much respect to him as a wonderful musician. I hope to converse with them again it was night I'll never forget.
never heard bruno mars speak before this, seemed like a figure bigger than life. him making music with someone im so connected to within AP, really brings him more down to earth for me. i loved this album and respect their craft more than almost anyones. big ups to these two from my humble position.
Thats great. You should definitely check out Bruno’s other interviews and maybe even his funny moments compilations. He is very down to earth but also very private and careful, which keeps him out of confrontation and enables longevity.

Silk Sonic is currently the best band in the world. This is their moment. Hopefully, they are vanguards of an wider R&B revival movement, but if this album is all that comes of this collaboration that's more than enough.

Bruno already established his reputation for upping the game.. didn't know .paak but for the casual fan, his level now is up there, and together, they've resuscitated the playing factor in music and performances... and have re established the level needed to out shine them and thrown down what quality music is... ain't no one in the game that can touch these dudes right now...
