My hero today
use black foam board,put a nice coat of modge podge for shine then apply the cds,then trim out with black thick glitter scrapbook paper for shimmer effect for all the sides,,less work more bling,,it will be solid!
Those little $tree saws work great on plastic . I fixed my sisters toilet the thing that held the seat on had broke and had to be sawed off. I did then could add new seat.

Tried this using the boiling method you used, but wasn't having much luck. Ended up getting it to work by holding the cds over a heat gun and then cutting them with tin snips, just in case this helps anyone else that attempts this project!
I did this with a initials. Cut my daughters initials out of MDF on my scroll saw then mosaicked the CDs pieces on....its actually iny craft room half finished lol. I have BOXES of old CDs in the garage. *GROUT maybe might be nice?*

I'm gonna be honest here, when I first saw the picture on your ig I thought it was some sort of abalone shell inlay situation. And my first thought was "wow. How did he get his hands on that much abal- oh its CDs." 😂 It does look really cool though, especially in the sunlight. I'd love to try it on a much smaller scale. Lol (side note: I absolutely appreciate your taste in music. ❤️)

I know you said you didn't want to cover it in resin but what if, instead of the wood piece, you used resin or acrylic and attached the CD pieces to that? Like have a resin mold, pour a little resin in one spot, place the pieces there and do that over the rest of the mold. Idk if that makes sense in text but it does in my mind 😂
Hey Dan so if you wanna cut without the ugly edges put masking tape or any around the edge you wanna cut. It stops the splinters
I know I’m like a year late but you were definitely using that hand held saw wrong 😂 I think you were supposed to the use the middle part where it’s C clamped and sturdy and rigid, which is why the tip broke off? Either way that was hilarious to watch, love your channel! Just found you a few months ago on here and have been watching all your older videos!
Hey Dan ,I saw your story and thought I would have a better chance seeing me here (this is about your Instagram stories being taken down because of the music). If you want your video to stay up try speeding it up 7-10% as it has a harder time finding the song. I am a videographer and I use this trick all the time, it’s not always full proof.

my grandfather was a carpenter who was really big on safety, watching Dan saw through this wood was extremely cringey and caused unnecessary anxiety.
