- The intro solo to The Thrill is Gone is probably the most famous blues guitar solo ever recorded. In this lesson I break it down into 5 licks and teach these BB King licks with tab on screen.
If you would like a copy of the tab, then just email me at marcellison75@gmail.com and I'll reply with the tab attached. In the email, please tell the email that you want the tab for "Thrill is Gone Intro Solo".
Unfortunately I was not able to include my performance of the whole solo over the backing track. You can watch the whole solo here: • The Thrill is Gone Int...
I hope you enjoy this lesson of BB King The Thrill is Gone.

When my live instructor introduced to me to this solo, it changed my playing forever. It had everything that I was struggling with at the time: phrasing, blues curls, and dynamics.
BB was the man! Thanks for putting this lesson out for us.
You are very welcome!
You are the first teacher that I have been able to learn parts from. Thank you
Wow! Thank you for such a great comment. I'm really pleased th lesson was helpful.
ok, your the best teacher so far for this solo, thank you
Wow, thanks! That's extremely kind
Thank you for sharing this classic solo. RIP Mr. King. Take care to all... cheers from Wisconsin.
I saw BB play not long before he passed away. One of the very best gigs I've ever been to. Sadly missed
Great lesson Marc! Thanks for the shout-out re the backing track - for those interested, more BB King backing tracks will be coming soon over at Butternote! 😊
Excellent! Thanks
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Been working on this for awhile. Can't get enough of this classic. Also Jerry Jermott on bass is minimal perfect. Thx for this great video. And the link you mentioned at the beginning.
It's one of the first blues songs I ever really heard. An absolute classic
Cheers Marc. A classic track by B.B. King. Looking forward to the rest of this series.
Cheers Graeme.Yes, there'll be a few in this series
Awesome video. I love how you broke down the licks into digestable chunks and included the tabs. I've watched a thousand video tutorials here on CZcams and yours is by far the best. Thank you
Wow! Thank you that's such a kind comment
Blue boys tune serait un très bon choix aussi. Bientôt peut être ? Yves from France
Hi Marc,
Good Choice for a Solo Lesson.
There is so much Blues-Feeling in this Song.
Still enjoy your Videos even though England beat Germany in Football EM.
Cheers from Bavaria - and keep making such great videos
Thanks Wolfganag! I really appreciate the comment. Yes, England beat Germany, an unusual result! I'm hoping they can beat Italy as well!
I live in Thailand ,follow you usually, thanks.
Awesome! Thank you!
crazy thing about this copyright stuff even with something that is educational, I am sure if BB was alive he would not have any issues with online instructors teaching people the blues, the blues is for everyone, great lick so much with so little so many different skills, to learn i was going to say Master but there is only one Master of the Blues :) thank you Marc for this !
Cheers Brian, the copyright thing is a pain and shouldn't apply to educational material, however the CZcams bots can't really tell the difference. I'm just trying to help keep the blues alive by passing on my knowledge. Anyways, thanks for the great comment
Thank you. This has been helpful.
Glad to hear it!
Hi Marc. Great lesson again. Your Blues series helped so much. So that Intro solo wasn't difficult to learn but sounds great. Cheers from Bavaria and take care!!
Fantastic, thanks Dean! Bavaria is a lovely part of the world
@@MarcGuitarVideos u're wecome.
Yes indeed, it is.😀🎸
Thank you Marc. What a fantastic lesson. New Sub. Can’t wait to tackle the rest of this classic song. 🔥🎸
Excellent! Thanks very much
Great teacher, simple uncomplicated breakdowns of each lick and they sound great which is more than can be said for a lot of online tuition. Thanks Marc. Some Clapton/Cream era lessons would be great . . . White Room, Crossroads etc
Thank you, that's very kind! I love White room, I think I could certainly do a lesson or two on that song!
thanks so much
You're welcome!
Would like to see your take on 12bars of his 3:00 Blues. That's my favorite of his
That's a great tune
Oooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!
Thanks Rick!
I have seen bb King up close twice and he always starts the first lick on e in the 7th fret made me stop watching right away
Great!
Thanks!
