I'm a 107 year old man and got into Joe when I was 91. Still gives me goosebumps after all these years. Such an original bluesman
I'm 112 and have been a Joe fan boy since Joe was a boy.
This boy fell into a giant barrel of blues as a child...he didn't drown...he drank it all...
Well that barrell was all that was left after Stevie Ray Vaughan drank the ocean of blues.
I'd say they were both baptized in the blues and holy water . . . but then, I'm a minister. Blake Sheldon calls it "holy water and shine. ' . . .czcams.com/video/ZEWGyyLiqY4/video.htmlsi=neatu1xZy4JEqmZC
When I play this video, I set the volume to the max. The neighbors have called the police, they have been arrested....
As well they should!!!
They got what they deserved!!
😀
GLAD TO HEAR IT.
SERVES THEM RIGHT.
I wish I was your neighbor.
BB & Lucille would be proud.
He is playing Lucille
Joe should be half time show at 2025 Superbowl. No politics, just great guitar..!!!!!!!!!!!!!;;;;
100%!!!
i wish, but the corporate overlords would disagree unfortunately
If we have one............
One of the most talented and natural gifted guitarists of the modern age, just brilliant.
So true. The first time I ever heard of him he was brought on stage by B.B. King and was in his early teens and as soon as he started to play you had no doubt he's one of the greatest guitarists to ever play.
Got a fair set of pipes on him too!!!!
So true,my husband has the greatness of seeing him 12/1/23. WITH Friend growing up with. He is one the best I've heard in along onlong time. Yep I'm jealous. It'll be great.
Have any of you heard him in Black Country Communion with Glenn Hughes, Jason Bonham, and the keys player from Dream Theatre? Absolute face melting stuff on the first album.
gix, no disrespect, that ain't natural talent, that's 20,000 hours of hard blistering work on display, maybe even 30,000 hours by now.
HIS BAND AND BACKING SINGERS MAKE
THE COMPLETE PACKAGE...GO JOE !👑😎🇺🇸
@@markholtdorf56 I
I didn’t like the addition of the backup singers. It took away from the blues appeal. But I’ll still be a fan no matter what.
Gorgeous Joe! Super! I'm thrilled! Time and again, I admire the skill of this incomparable musician and his amazingly talented musical team. It's so cool that this is space. Aerobatics! Bravo, Mr. Joe!
Thank you God for this creation.
Joe is one of the best guitarists in the world. He puts so much emotion in his guitar playing, it is incredible. Thank you Joe.
Absolutely. As someone whose heart is otherwise very close to music of the 60s and 70s, I would like to say, nice that such great musicians still exist. The next concert I have to take :-)
So under rated. Many people who love great guitar don’t even know who he is!! One of the very best of all time!!
Over 6 million hits on this video, would suggest that he's quite well known. Don't forget that, these days, there are great guitarists on every street - even teenage girls can play licks like Eddie Van Halen. It's no-longer an exclusive club. In the 1960s, only a handful of players could play like Clapton, Beck and Hendrix.
Dude I play guitar since i was 6 (23 now), and i found about this guy today lol. I heard plenty of times I'd rather be blind (with Beth Hart), the guitar solo has always blown my mind, but i never looked this guys name up. He fucking rocks
ahahahaha) are you kidding?
Just found out about Joe, I’ve been missing out!
@@Inglese001 not really 7B + in the planet
This man can play the blues! Would love to see him in concert
❤
Do yourself a favor and see him when hes in or around your town. The best live show ive ever seen. He sounds just like this in person, its unbelievable compared to other artists.
I find it weird how the guitarist always gets all the hype yet the saxophonist plays more soulful and fun licks
What else can be said that hasn’t already? Joe B and the other performers play and sing phenomenally.
no arrogance just a pure musician with talent for performance and guitarsolo,s
the background singers are brilliant , Ladies you make Joe shine. .What a great band wow. Mind blowing performance
@DJ, BOB, Seger, and then there's one more, can't remember the exact name, but he's a BB King, made over,
They are wonderful! Fantastic voices.❤
They're good, no question.
But...they certainly don't make Joe shine. They've added sparkle for sure. They're great singers.
But his voice and playing are already top tier.
That horn section rocks too!
BB King is looking down and smiling! The man and his band are spectacular!
B.B.King is proud of you J.B....
What a great performance. Joe & the band did B.B. King proud.
Can I double like this video? Lol
That rhythm section.......INCREDIBLE
Justin McCorkle you get ‘it’ most don’t. What a great backing he had vocals sax piano amazing
Absolutely, I might be wrong but i think his Saxman might be Jeff Kashiwa one of the heavy's for a long time with a Jazz Fusion group called the Rippington's wtih front man and jazz guitarist Russ Freemen. It's been awhile since I have revisited any of their video's here but I'll buy a round of beer's if i am mistaken. Joe is in a really good place in his career right now in my opinion and able to attract other top notch artists to collaborate with which I think always pulls out the best in everyone. You can really feel the energy of a live show when all the members are dialed into that groove with the eye contact and grinning faces as they are trading off riffs and mini solos with each other. When they are having fun and not exclusively trading musical notes for paper ones the magic really happens and everyone is rewarded generously. I think the Thrill has not gone away and it's here to stay awhile. God Bless Music in all it's forms, probably one of humanities most redeeming qualities. Enjoy your musical journey my friend. A slow cool nod to JB with a smile of approval and gratitude.
👏👏👏
So are the backup
Ladies!
The Grammy and Hall of Fame people must have their heads up their butts not to induct him. Obviously one of the best blues guitarists of all time.
Stephen Kellar obviously biased 🤐
Paul Coulter he probably could make the rock and roll hall of fame
I don't think there IS a Grammy Hall of Fame. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame takes 25 years before you can be eligible.
right
Exactly, a crowned prince of BB, the shit makea no sense.
There is something deeply sacred in this performance. I can feel it.
Rest in peace BB King, an incomparable tribute has been paid to you. Thank you Joe.
Nice...
To Raven’s comment: Not only can you ‘feel’ Joe’s amazing tribute to this Blues/Soul masterpiece, but you can see it in the way he expresses himself with such emotion and feeling that comes from deep within his heart and soul! A legendary blues artist, and this is imo possibly better than the original B. B. King version!
@@elainemeyer5062
I'm telling you he's
Feling it
@@billridge7854 Bill, Yes, Joe feels everything that he plays, and it shows in his videos just how much. (Also, as a former musician myself, I will NOT listen to anyone on any instrument, or vocalist, who doesn’t play/sing like this!

How do you know what
Joey feels when he plays .Clue me in.
A buddy of mine, now deceased liked this guy !
I never heard anything that he did, trip my trigger.
Until this B.B. King hit !
He did this up right !
So here is my Tribute to an Old Friend !

Joe Bonamassa is obviously one of best and versatile blues guitarist there is, but he's not bad singer either.
Another 10 years, he be takin names Baby. This boy is bad !
I remember hearing the producer of his first few albums talking about the original tapes Joe sent him, he was saying Joe was a terrible singer back then. But through the years it can be seen that his hard work has paid off!
more confidence
His vocal gets better n better
Right on!! I know by the first chord that comes from his throat that it;s Joe, and I get excited!! Nothing beats a rough day better than listening to Joe!!
i am sure BB is looking down and saying.......an awesome job.
🇧🇷😎
We in Utica were flabbergasted when BB put Joe on tour with him..while just a kid. Utica pride !
Bb is saying...keep practicing kid
I an sure of that
I thing BB.king,is happy wereber ji is!!!now!!
Joes a blues man forshore one of the best if not the best
Years of practice (opening for the great BB KING at the tender age of 12) has made JB one of the best if not THE BEST! As you can see in his face and body he puts so much soul and feeling in every note. Awesome!
He puts everything in his performance, power, Best showman.
You can always tell he's having an absolute blast too. Love that
@@rababry0810 you right bro
@@nikitacherlenokYou are funny. But we can think diffrent. By I think that he are utterly boring. And I have not get thing whit him playing in sunglasses in every performance. It are so ego. And he are playing like 345678754 other guitarist. No personallity whasoever
BB would be proud , he plays his song so well , i wish you well joe !
Joe Bonamassa and this GREAT Band need to play The Super Bowl.
You know you're absolutely right there that would be a great super bowl band
absolutely that would be amazing forget maroon 5 :-)
The gridiron would be a poor support act.
Yeah man, that's a really great idea! Blues train...
Omg great idea! Bonamassa at the Superbowl!
I've never heard a better version of this song. Joe's got all the tricks, but he puts it all together in a way that honors BB, and proves he is a killer player too. Marvelous.
Listen the live version of Dutch blues band Flavium from the LP : A night live , from 1980 , with the band in it's best formation. We can hear a magnificent guitar duel. . . The singer is also talented . Unfortunately it is only a sound recording. . . But It can be easily found on CZcams .
No better guitarist than Joe Bonamassa. He is at the peak of his game. Untold hours of dedication have resulted in just an amazing talent. The Best!
He sure is keeping the blues alive. His band are definitely the best in the business💙👌👏👏👏🎸
The geak peak:-)
Better cover guitar player
That show of seen in a while
Gary Moore was better, but he also good😁
This kind of playing the Blues is much elegant than any of Blues
musicians aren't capable to perform. So subtle and alive at the same
time. AMAZING !!!!!!!!
I don't want a billion dollars, I don't want to be a star. I want my soul to feel, I want patience, I want my ears to hear, I want my mind to focus, I want the courage to let everything go, I want the guitar to sing in my hands. What a gift this man has, what a gift he is.
So nice, thanks for this words
@@ingeborgbello Thank you for your kindness. I appreciate the fact you took the time. All the best to you.
You achieve all of those things when listening to Joe Bonamassa ✌
A purist soothes my soul!!
The blues king himself, BB King p, would give Joe a thumbs up on this one 🍷🍷
He is doing a blues tour this summer and will be in Omaha August 6th, 2024. I hope he does most of the songs he did at the Greek theatre. Tickets cost $500 for my wife & myself. Money is cheap. His music, Priceless!
Bonnamassa is a lot more than just "well rounded".He's a fantastic singer, incredible picker, and puts on an unbelievable show. His entire band is more than fabulous.👏
Agree Coaltrain!😎✌️🎸

I agree
Yes fabulous indeed.
Yes they are so good as his “Band”, I just can’t get enough of his music, 💕 love it so much!!!
That dude was seriously blessed with musicianship. He sings almost as well as he plays. I've been playing for 35+ years and I don't play super crisp, super clean like he does. Truly a prodigy.
BB loved Joe. Watched him introduce Joe when Joe was younger.
Same spirit, different times, a pass along from the King
Lewis Ca
Lewis Carzoo I think he called Joe on stage when Joe was like 12. Damn that’s hard work for a young man to put in to have an idol call you on stage

Joe is the inspiration for me to start learning guitar when I was already 65years old. Now 2 years ago. Love Joe and BB.
Best live show ive ever been too. Sounds just like this in person.
This is not just a good cover . He took a great seed and grew another tree from it . Great respect the original !
laurenldc chase I had The exactly same feeling!
laurenldc chase , yes that's what he does. Just like he took Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page and Jeff back to the next level.
Without going totally Eric Johnson or Steve Vai or Joe Satriani. He navigated the narrow road with 18 hours of practice a day.
He stays true and authentic to the music genre of blues but yet he excels beyond what they've done. He's my fave.
Great comment. I totaly agree.
What are you listening to obviously not the same as everyone else ....listen to it again my friend
@@nigelobrey917What....?
laurenldc chase's comment was right on point. How can you disagree?
What's to say Joe's amazing as usual. I'm sure BB is smiling somewhere above.
nope - joe's got several of his own lucilles. this one is a memphis-style finish, whereas the iconic lucille was black nitro (joe's got at least one of those too). pretty sure gibson only remade 80 lucilles with the badge (not branded as epiphones) for bb's 80th birthday. joe was able to scoop at least one of them then, which i'd guess wasn't this memphis finish, given its differences (including slightly different hardware than a trad'l lucille). anyway that's all a complicated, unsure way of saying "don't think so, but damn that things is beautiful!".
also: he does tell a bit of the story here, but not all of it: jbonamassa.com/b-b-king-lucille-love-story/

No, Joe said in an interview he bought BB's Lucille and he play's that guitar on this song. He also owns several of BB and Albert Kings guitars. He said both had several different styles of guitars. He plays certain guitars on certain songs.
Joe said he travels with about 50 guitars and generally plays over 38 of them in concerts, not every concert, but out of those he travels with 38 of them are used throughout the tour.
and don't forget the best Gary Moore.
chuck connor and Roy Buchanan. This guy obviously wants to be a singer and not a guitar player. Gary and Roy could talk a bettersong this guy can sing.
Joebonamassa your voice is amazing.
When I first heard of Joe, I thought "what an over-rated guy". I was quite wrong. He has just gotten better and better, especially in his singing. His guitar playing seems to be on a level no one else can attain, at the moment. Grat job, Joe.
The backup singers are perfection!!!!!
I’m amazed! I’m 70 and had never heard Joe! So thrilled to discover now , you are the best!☮️
Joe makes the blues more exciting, even if you don't like blues once you hear Joe you'll love it.
Красавчик !!!!! А МУЗЫКАНТЫ просто слов нет высший пилотаж , низкий Вам поклон , от души ребята!!!
The best there is, and there is more to come folks!
Yeah you're right Joe Bonamassa is a great singer and he will forever be, so tell me how long have you been Joe Bonamassa fan?
The man from Mississippi who say this song must smile down from heaven

I absolutely love this guy & he surrounds himself with the best band ever, great backup singers, it’s not just all about him. When I found Joe , a whole bunch more cool & extremely talented people popped up in ITunes. I’m in Blues Heaven!!!
952 thumbs DOWN ???? THERE AREN'T WORDS ENOUGH FOR YOU GUYS.....I MEAN...NONE !
Joe Bonamassa is a living legend.
Excellent COVER of the great B.B. King, King King.
Настоящий музыкант. Красавец.
Там все красавцы
Каждый мастер своего дела
Not many guitarists can do BB justice, let alone on one of BB's own guitars. Joe is a joy to watch and listen to.
This man is a legend, keep the blues alive Joe !
BB & JB both are badasses!!!
And AB
Music is the universal language.
God bless joe , the band and everyone involved in production.
Love your sound, lyrics, style, best entertainers ever .you rock! You guys really come together.
Bb being the thrill is gone. So sad best tribute by far
majestic. The thrill is not gone. The long single tone from 4:59 to 5:12 is absolutely delicious
The Man is a Musical Sponge he soaks anything up that's good . Awesome!
I am not the biggest Joe Bonamassa fan, but this version of Thrill is absolutely amazing....
There is no one better on the planet ❤️ What a gift !
Joe is a bloody underrated modern guitar player.
His phrasing is just epic
I have followed him since he was a boy. There's nothing like him!
The energy coming out of this guy....He can power a entire country!!!
I’m enjoying Joe’s version of the B B King one just as much - what a fabulous guitarist he is, and the emotion that comes from his guitar and stage presence is undeniable!
Yeah you're right Joe Bonamassa is a great singer and he will forever be, so tell me how long have you been Joe Bonamassa fan?
Это просто супер. Слов нет. Вот это музыканты.
Great, when you have such a backup crew superb! Reese Wynans keyboard great.

Joe B is fabulous 👌👌👌👌. Have seen him in concert several TIMES. By far one of the GREAT blues men. Many that are gone are looking down on him and keeping him going 🙏.
🇧🇷😎
One awesome performance and tribute to BB King, you can feel JB is playing this in honour of him. So good and what an awesome band and singers. Simply outstanding!
A neighbor asked me what kind of music that was...I said Joe Bonamassa..."I don't know it," he said...I said well..."Why?"...then this music remains my music ...and it's not on the radio..."why not"?...I then said...because it's good music...the best...!
AWESOME...PLAYING HOMAGE TO THE KING. ABSOLUTELY THE BEST RENDITION OF THE THRILL IS GONE. THANK YOU JOE.

What a fantastic line-up ! The audience who was on that gig will be grateful for the rest of their journey here to whatever took them to that theater that evening !! A M A Z I N G...……..
When Joe was a little boy, he played on B.B king's lap, he was inspired by the king and learn a lot from him as you can see&hear. Rest in peace B.B King...
Oooh my goodness I love the blouse so much it's like feeling flying 🪽 in the galaxy thank u for the this music

But black blues singers

this is so fckin bluesgasm
It is a great version of an amazing blues song . Plays his heart out
Джо Бонамасса респект , драйв передаваемый его исполнением неподражаем и непередаваем .(извините за тафтологию)
He is the best out there. I went to one of his concert. Amazing. He is so talented.
A Masterpice of Blues.....pure..butal...Joe...a giant blues man
Joe is that semi nerdy soft spoken guy on the Nerdville, and Norm's Rare guitar videos, but when he puts on them dark sunglasses his voice changes and you see a whole different Joe Bonamassa. Awesome performance!!!
Every year Joe gets better and better. All great guitarists are almost gone. Just few left and he is one of the best.
I'd guess I've watched this upload north of 10,000 times since it came out. It never, ever gets even remotely old. This is PRIME Bonamassa ladies and gentlemen. This guy is the King of The Blues with absolutely zero doubt. I miss his old rig and simpler set up that was used here. That said, his music and voice just continue to improve every friggen year. Cheers Joe, we love you man.
Extremely good playing and vocals... I'm sure that the master BB is looking down and appreciating :)
One of the greatest guitarists ever...no doubt! But don't under estimate Joe's vocal capabilities either...he is absolutely on-point with his vocal performance! Awesome!
Spot on observation.
They sound great, undoubtly, classic guitar at it's best, but I want to emphasize the keyboards - man, not many sing like this these days, it kindda remind me of John Lord, and other great piano players of the '60 - '70 - ies !
Top ten version of this hit. Looking forward for it in april 24 in Stockholm. Hey Joe!
Thanks Joe.. 🌎 Thanks. Greetings from Colombia. The Venezuelan Immigrant writer 🇻🇪
I remember as a 15 year old when my dad walked into my room and asked me why I was listening to the blues. I said because it moves my soul. That was over 55 years ago. I’m so glad to hear people still enjoy this great music 😁😁😁
Sitting in my car in awe! Great version, BB. Was the man, but Joe and all did this song justice...
I been following along with Joe for years, He was playing holy roller tents as a boy, He is at his prime now ! God bless U Joe B!
