- The Fuji 800mm f/2.8 macro is pure joy.
Today was a busy day and I didn't have enough time for a photo trip, but with a macro lens, even a few minutes is enough time to make some magic.
Here are some shots I did before an appointment I had today.
If you have questions about this lens, just ask in the comments!

Macro opens up a whole new world of exploration and possibilities. I still can't get over buying a macro lens 😂 I ended up buying two cheap macro rings from JJC which work fine but a macro lens with OIS is much better. I still can't decide if I should buy a macro lens or the 70-300 zoom
Lol! Macro lenses are expensive! But a 70-300 would be nice too!
Hey Jerred, I recently picked up a used 80mm macro in primo condition for a decent price, and I haven't really had a chance to try it out yet as I'm playing nursemaid to my wife who had L knee replacement surgery just 9 days ago, so I haven't really been able to get out and shoot at all, but your video here definitely inspires me to get out in my yard to get some flower pics w/ my X-T4 and the XF 80 macro. Some beautiful, ethereal shots you had here, well done.
Frank! Thank you so much - and definitely get out there when you can - it's an amazing lens that makes me look good! Ha!
Great shots, sharp and in focus as if you were using a tripod, people ask "what settings were you using", the answer is always "it depends" because lighting conditions (and other factors) are different, but I'm curious to know the settings because the shots were hand held and they came out really good, if it's a trade secret just ignore my question😂
Enrique, no trade secrets here. I should have talked about it in the video! I'm still working on doing better in that regard... it's helpful to know! For most of them it's f/2.8 and iso 160 and I'm mostly changing my shutter. A few of the shots I went up to f/8 and f/11 to get some more DOF, so I had to bump up my ISO a bit to keep my shutter higher. And mostly I'm using my shutter to vary the exposure when I have the other two locked in. The clouds were making the exposures change a lot, so I just did that with shutter, and I didn't have to worry almost at all about going too low because it wasn't windy at all. The OIS with the 80macro is really amazing!
@@JerredZ Regardless, your hand holding abilities are very good.
