What I need out of a camera is excellent weather/environmental resistance and the ability to get most, if not all, of my kit into a fairly small bag so I can have it with me almost every time I leave the house. If I shot mostly street or portrait, I think I could pull that off with just about any system(maybe not Fuji GFX lol), but since what I'm mostly into is wildlife, I need long lenses. Having used Canon and Nikon APS-C DSLR's, FF Canon and Sony mirrorless, and Fujifilm X-mount mirrorless, and I ended up coming back to micro 4/3. I can't imagine ever going back to a larger sensor. Being able to get a super-telephoto zoom and a couple of wide/standard primes into a small bag is amazing.

What exactly happened to you to make you quit?

I have the 35 f/2, the 35 f/1.4 and the new 33. 33 is great when you want sharp, clinical, clean and fully optimized on the new X-h2 sensor. f/2 is great when you need silent, small, and weather proofed...great for street. But when you want character and images that just have a special something, but don't care about AF speed or noise and maybe a little searching, the f/1.4 is awesome and would be the last lens I'd sell.

definitely tempted to get one as I have been wanting a new Nikon mirrorless to go with my Fujifilm setup (or maybe end up replacing). The ZF is appealing but deterred by the fact that I have heard it is quite heavy and really needs and after market grip. the speed of processing and focus system is appealing for the price though.

I am thankful that we have a counseling team at our school and that student mental health is taken very seriously.

The only thing I hate is that the X-T5 is using UHS-II cards which are now, weirdly, more expensive than a CFExpress B card. I am neither a video or burst shooter but it's nice to have that future proofed CFExpress B slot

Interesting. For web sites and even magazines and newspapers the 20mpx native resolution is enough (and I have a lot of pro work in books to support that statement). When you do the math even at 300dpi you rarely even need all 20mpx for a standard book or magazine and if you do for some reason you can upres quite a bit and still have acceptable image quality. I do want to try the tripod hi-res mode for interior architecture (I haven't done so yet) but at the same time I'll still be taking native resolution modes which will probably be good enough for most clients.

I come from Leica. I bought a ZF and it is more a love-hate thing. Beautiful piece of gear, no doubt. Excellent autofocus, no doubt. Really good output. But man, is it heavy! Looks compact and cute in the pictures, but is quite a brick to schlepp around. And my most important complaint is its way to function. Why so complicated? Millions of options in the menu. Not intuitive how PASM and manual dials work together. And it can't be that I need a doctorate degree to find out how simple things like Auto ISO works. I think Nikon overcomplicated things with this camera. And I can understand why Leica's approach of making things simple and intuitive is so successful. So I'll keep on trying but probably will sell the Z F and stick with a much simpler Q3.

hey Jarred . Answered my indecisions of which way to go! Primarily a Nikon user since early days of film cam. and Fuji film , im currently with Z8 , I also own an X100v and love the camera and Fuji features being retro function dials and dial in recipes ! Have been on the fence about buying XT 4 or 5 but after some thought, im so heavily into Nikon lenses now it only makes sense to have Xf . Great vid ! Thanks

no one is benefitting from public education. We should shut it down and give the money back to taxpayers. Parents want school, the market will provide it. The product will be much better than the public education disaster.

I do fashion/beauty photography for a living and use Hasselblad ane Leica in the studio. Since about a year, I rediscovered M43 and my OM1 now is with me on my personal travels. I absolutely love it and the IQ is fantastic for such a small setup. 20MP is more than enough for almost all personal use cases except the biggest prints. The high-res modes can be a welcome addition in certain circumstances. Best is to find out for yourself what works for you. I use it for close-up flowers in almost windstil conditions and for architecture. Works perfect.

Really nice comparison. Personally I went with the SmallRig leather half-wrap around the bottom of my X-T5 as I felt it looked better and offered (more or less) a better feel on the camera. It protects the bottom if I set my camera down and I can still mount it on a tripod if necessary. Plus the black with exposed stitching really gives my all-black X-T5 a classic look.

Wondering why the click at taking? Mechanical movements going on? No straight reading off sensor? The arm set up didn't look the sturdiest?

You described my last year teaching in 2011. I quit and became an RN..tripled my salary and now I am retired 13 years later. I would rather had stayed a teacher becuase that is my true nature but society had other plans.

Very nice Jerred - that lens is a sharp beast, but great technique you have there to really get those great compositions! I love after shooting macro, getting back and seeing tiny insects posing that I didn't even notice at the time I took the shot - get some great lucky images sometimes, so much fun!

I've only ever used macro lenses for product videos but you've convinced me to take one with me during my next walkaround.
