Good for you I would love to see them I could listen to that song and some of their others over and over I love it awesome voice ❤and a great guy ❤️😢brings tears to my eyes
When I first heard it, my first thought was the same. Way better than the original. They took an older song that was good in it's lyrics but lacked the emotion the lyrics really needed. This rendition brought the emotion to the song it desperately needed to make it great. I really love it.
Disturbed's version of Sound of Silence is haunting, beautiful. I was dumbfounded when I first heard it. As someone that is dealing with depression, in my worst times, before my breakdown, this song, unfortunately was the song I played over and over. God Bless you all, my family, who deals with depression and addiction. It is like cancer.
I am almost 61 and have listened to countless music all my life. But no singer or song has ever, ever made me have chills through my veins like this. His voice is outstanding, perfect for this song. His voice is so amazing I have tears in my eyes. Just wish I could see him live. How amazing would that be! Yn hollol Gwych!!!!! ( Absolutely Brilliant!!!!! ) O Cymru UK. ( From Cymru(Wales)UK. 🏴❤️❤️❤️🌎🇺🇸
David Draiman. The voice of an angel… better heard and felt in silence (Conan performance - such beauty, almost like a hymn). So very touched🖤DISTURBED in the best of ways🙏
I have only recently come across Disturbed and its safe to say I have become deeply Disturbed - their sound and style are quite unique and I have become another Disturbed fan❤️
To hear these young people sing along to a song that was written 59 years ago (when I was 5 years old) gives me the chills. Good music is timeless. I heard Paul Simon interviewed last week, and he said he loved this version. He even called David Draiman to tell him so. Can't get much higher praise than that.
I am one of those who was fascinated by this singing voice. It seems like there is drama in this one song. It really touches my heart and warms my heart.
In '64 when S of S came out I was 9. I've always remembered S and G's version as a commentary padded in a genteel sound, the truth wrapped up something that wasn't abrasive. When I heard Disturbed's version a few years ago, I felt as if someone finally got it and I could hear and feel him ripping off the chains to release the true anguish in the truth this song speaks of.
I saw someone else describe it as S & G's being a warning for the future, and Disturbed's is the anger and rage at people not heeding the warning. Given the direction the world seems to be going, I think there might be something to that.
I listen to both Disturbed's version and the original. Rather than choose between them I've decided that they both take the best from the message and display it superbly but differently. Two songs, one set of lyrics.
I could listen to this song 10 times in a row and shed a tear each time probably. I used to listen to this song during some really tough and dark times in my life and it helped me get through it.
All the shit that I've been through in my life, and all the times that I've went into the dark spaces in my mind, and just thought about ending it all... This version of the song helps pull me out. I cry every time I hear it.
I just found Disturbed's version of the Sound of Silence this past July, 2023. I just loved it the first time I heard it and I just can't stop listening to it. It just grabbed my heart & head. Probably played it 50-60 times by now. I also like to see how other groups and individuals sing Disturbed's version. Harmonica solos and all sorts of interesting versions. I like David's the best of all. What a beautiful and powerful voice.
I'm 72, and my daughter plays bass in a rock group, 'Blood and Earth ' I keep sending her clips of David singing, She tells me I'm obsessed. YEP, love his voice.😊😅
It's gotta be a cool gig for the concert cellist and violinist to get when Disturbed comes to town. Huge vibe difference from the symphony concert hall.
You know ,when you can't get a song out of your head. Would you believe that for approx 2 years ,since I first heard it......I sing this to myself daily. Maybe only a line or two. But not one day has gone by ,without this. Scotland loves Disturbed and all other songs are outrageously phenomenonal. This one hits tho xx
I was born in 1960 , it took until I was 12 to really listen to it (my sister would play it over and over) the original by Simon and Garfunkel was a very big hit at the time ! many years later my son at the age of 33 had me listen to this version and it just blew me away ! To tell the truth, I like this one more ! Have a great day from Seattle !
I can't say this wasn't good, disturbed has done some great covers of old and nailed every one 😎👌👏 thanks for this upload, I used to live in NC and go to show in Charlotte.
A customer and I were talking about music she told me about this version of sound of silence by disturbed Simon and Garfunkel were my 2 album I ever bought I love this version I keep playing it over and over with the cd
A big hug from Trieste, Italy. I have also suffered depression and music can help a lot. My helping song was Someone, Somewhere in Summertime (Simple Minds). This version of The Sound of Silence is simply powerful!!!! ❤
Amazing version of a great song👏👍🥹, even live and with a couple of tiny imperfections (which add to the feeling of the song🥹, and btw, makes it absolutely clear that this is him, no tricks added😊). This guy can really sing! I ve said it already on other sites, but it s just that I ve become addicted to listening to this version (in general, the studio one, I have to admit) almost on a loop, every day, since I discovered it some months ago😊.
I wish i had this music in hospital when i had a tumour taken out my colon and the pain i was going through and told that i had cancer it could of made my life better in hospital but I'm still fighting the cancer
I turned 75 this year and have been celebrating all year. The highlight so far was being at this concert (my first time seeing Disturbed). So awesome!
Good for you I would love to see them I could listen to that song and some of their others over and over I love it awesome voice ❤and a great guy ❤️😢brings tears to my eyes
They’re so great! Happy Birthday!!❤
Congratulations on, your birthday, going to the concert and also on being able to enjoy them both, that is pretty wicked, bet it was fun
Good for you celebrating your 75th birthday all year 🎉💐😘
GodBlessYou❤🤍🕊️
At 60 years of age, I just finding out of Disturbed. But from the videos I have seen I have nothing but RESPECT for the gentleman..
The rare occasion where its better than the original 👌

I am 74 years old, and this is my favorite song... The way he sings it is beyond 👏 amazing!
I'm 65 and I fully agree. Best remake I've ever heard.
This guy does tremendous service to this song as a cover. I don’t often like covers but this guy does it.
I suggest if you haven’t already listen to Tom ball’s cover of this song as it is really good
Simon and Garfunkel wrote the song as a warning, David’s performance is a lament that the warning wasn’t heeded. ❤
Yes!
You stole this comment, but OK!
Government over reach during the scamdemic???

The Sound Of Silence is one of my all time favorites. I love Disturbed!
I'm 72. When I first heard this by S&G my cousin Gene had just got home from Visiting. Said it should have been a wake up call for America.
I said VIETNAM! AUTO CORRECT BLEW IT 😂
My late mother's favorite song. Wish she'd lived long enough to hear it.

You've described this beautifully! I haven't been able to put into words the difference, but you did so.

Find the version of it that he did on the Conan show!
Have you seen Dan Vasc’s video covering Disturbed’s version? Simple and to the point.
This will always be the number one version of this song!
Beat show ive been to in a long time. Broke out of my comfort zone and went. Well worth it.
This version steps this song up to a whole new level 🤘❤️
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve listened to Disturbed rendition as well as Dan Vasc. Both excellent!
