I played the hell out of txr0. Never knew they made anything after. Now I’m going back and playing this one
There’s also TXR 2 on the dreamcast which is my personal favorite. Import tuner challenge on the Xbox 360. It’s TXR just published by Ubisoft instead of crave. Also a game on the GBA and one on the PSP. Keep in mind TXR3 has very strange handling. You’ll really have to play with the suspension settings quite a bit. Thanks for watching.
Love this series. I bought a Japanese PS2 and a copy of 01 just so I could 100% it. Have already beaten it a few times. Once you do new game +, all cars have the engine swaps unlocked from the start. And since the game’s menus are almost completely in English, it means there’s nothing really lost. My favorite game in the series, followed closely by TXR 2 on Dreamcast.
I would say 2 is my favorite. Even with the California license plates lol. Something about those super shiny cars.
@@evo-genesis2088 If 2 had the physics engine of 3, I would agree. Hitting walls in 2 is unforgiving and the opponents slide through turns like you would in 3.
I’ve got a soft spot for 2. That was the first game in the series that I played. Also it’s the dreamcast. I love the DC.
I wanted to finish this one. Well there’s always Tokyo xtreme racer drift 2. There isn’t a single guide for 1. I’ll give it a shot but those wanderers (I can’t remember what they’re called slashers or something) are very cryptic sometimes. In all honesty the physics for 3 and drift 1 are very similar. I know both games were in development at the same time. I don’t know if you’ve played drift. Im playing the first one. It’s a good game.

@@evo-genesis2088 2 was also my first. 2 is still superior in content. Any game that has a Soarer is a winner in my book. Then I went back to play the first. And I agree. The DC is amazing. I’ve been playing lots of Hydro Thunder recently.
The Drift series never caught my attention for some reason. But I’ve heard nothing but good things from it.
Honda is very weird about things. Refused to be in TXR 3 and yet they're in NFS Underground 1, 2 and Juiced.
Yea they were just all over the place with what they’d be featured in. They were in Kaido battle 1,2, & 3. The roads are closed and turned into race tracks in that series though.
I used to play this when I was little, even tho I barely remember it, it's nice to play it again since I just got a copy, I kinda just wish there was a way to have some features and details plus cars from Zero and Drift 2, like some traffic from Zero, I honestly think I like the handling in this one a lot, since you can actually go around corners pretty easy compared to the other games, at least from what I've experienced lol.
I'd just love to see someone or some fans combine the best of the TXR games, if that's even possible, but hey who knows with what some people make.
Yea, even I was 19 when this came out. My son's first word in english was car. I was wondering why bolt on turbos were only in txrd2. It didn't even make a return in import tuner challenge. This series makes great additions then subtracts them. My son has said it multiple times that it's time for the series to make a comeback.

Lol I’m slowly working on drift 1 right now. Yea I really want to get a copy of Tokyo xtreme racer 1 and 2 for the Dreamcast. 2 was where I started. Played zero the most.

The only this game was lacking was Honda! It did have a great variety of cars though
Absolutely loved this game
I hate the bosses. Half of the time it's strategic challenging them before corners to even have a chance or otherwise you'll get smoked and lose before catching up. The Osaka's final Skyline trio was the worst, because you have to beat them all at once and even the first R32 is ridiculously hard
Aside from that it's a really cool game, monotonous but addictive. The only thing I don't like apart from the bosses are those damn yellow vans being the only traffic vehicle. I beat 75% of the Quest with the FC and was rotating it with the FD from halfway. Amazing machines
The traffic on the 2 lane roads drove me crazy. Every time I go to pass there’s a van. It’s not my favorite, but it’s a lot of fun. I wish I could’ve raced the last boss. I made my way through the wanderers in zero and import tuner challenge.

Thanks. Yea its nice I was able to get most of them before the prices shot up. I pick up a game here and there now, but I've had a lot of them for 15 years. besides my copies I got when I was a kid. They just sit there on a shelf so i decided to start reviewing them.

I have both of them. I pre ordered them lol. I’ve put some time into both over the years. I’m playing through drift pretty slowly. I’m absolutely terrible at drift 2. I wanted to do drift 2 last year. I put a ton of time into it and didn’t really get better. The next project is taking much longer than expected. I do plan on getting there though. I have a lot of racing games I want to feature on the channel. I just like switching things up. Don’t want to burn myself out on racing games.

txr3.. the na cars ARE.faster.
theres also a speed boost yoj can dk for them with an upgraded NA car. when you go to race hold select the whole time until it goes into auto pilot..
you then have speed boost by pressing select similar to the turbo cars which heats up even faster though
Yea I said in the video the game says the NA engines are better. I just like turbo chargers. I did a few races with the NA engines for my RX-7 and WRX. When I did a speed test on the test track the turbo inline 6 performed the best while testing all the engines. I played with the gear settings for each one also. Maybe I missed something in the settings. I didn’t know about the speed boost for the NA cars. I’ll check that out.

you just take an na car. go tk race. select assist. oress and hold select hntil auto pilot is off and then tiu can press select during a race. is 2x faster than turbo boost and also heats the car up fast. but is necessary for like speed king or the ford gt guy

It’s the same series yes. Import tuner challenge had Ubisoft as the publisher out here. In Japan it was shutoku battle x.
Import tuner challenge is a very shameful attempt at a sequel, I refuse to admit its a part of this series, thanks to Ubisoft, they ruin everything they touch, to me this is the last game in the series.
The lack of cars and the point a to point b races are what I disliked about import tuner challenge. It’s way more of an arcade racer. I think it’s at least worth playing through once. Honestly I still think zero is the best.
Too bad the handling is godawful of this game, best first play txr zero or txr drift2
The handling is so weird in this one. 2 and zero are my favorites. I was able to get it more stable after I adjusted the suspension. This one has steering wheel support. I’m wondering if that has something to do with it.
Can confirm it feels infinitely better on wheel. Still a little “icy-road” feeling but you have so much more control, despite the garbage wheel they choose to support (only had 180 degrees of movement).
