Hi Everyone! Thank you so much for your kind words about my garden 💚💚 In regard to the deer spikes/stakes I refer to in my video. I find they are working well so far! They're a deer training system. Basically they are placed next to plants deer are attracted too. They have a floral scent pellet on them, and once deer sniff them, it gives them little zap similar to static electricity, and scares them off. I don't get any kickbacks for advertising these, and I'm not affiliated with the company in anyway. I purchased these to use in my own garden. Here's where I purchased them from: wirelessdeerfence.com/
Taking ideas for bunnies. I think the mild winter really boosted their numbers and everyone is getting decimated around here. I'm even having thick smaller hosta, Japanese Painted Ferns getting nailed. Yet I have an acre of natives and oceans of 'everything else' they could go after. Brutal. Literally have white Dollar Tree hampers on things. Looks lovely.
Your husband does the best job of zooming in and out of all the beautiful flowers, shrubs, trees, and grasses 👍🏽 happy anniversary 🎉
He's great, thank you so much for your kind words 💚
Thank You for sharing and being genuine. ❤
Of course!! Thank you so much 😊
You've done an amazing job. Love the Japanese maples. Thank you for the tour. 🌸
Thanks so much! 😊
I’m so jealous of all those foxglove starts. I love them so much. So I assumed it was too late to plant gomphrena seeds.
I love your channel. Thank you for sharing. And you are so adorable 🥰
Thank you so much Alison 🥰
I’m saying “ larkspur, it’s larkspur “ to you , as though you can hear me 😂
Thanks for the tour , your garden is gorgeous ❤
Stunning! George films like a Pro😺, Happy Anniversary to both❤.
Thanks so much! 😊 He did a great job 💚
Thanks for taking the time to show us your space! 🌱 I also love buying plants on Clearance and giving them a chance! #relatable
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching.
You have a beautiful garden & the tour was superb.
Thank you so much 😊
Congratulations on your 19th wedding anniversary, Steph, and thank you for showing us your beautiful garden!!
Absolutely Gorgeous! I LOVE The rocks and landscaping stones you added!Your hard work is coming together beautifully! Your flowers are so pretty!🥰🥰🥰🌸🌺
Thank you for a great tour! I am also in MA. I love that you purchased many of your plants on clearance at Home Depot and Lowe’s…me too! You and you husband do an amazing job. Your yard is beautiful and inspiring!
Thank you so much for your kind words, and welcome to the channel "neighbor". Its so fun to find plants on clearance.
Stunning garden tour Steph and George - I had my coffee ready and settled in to see how all of the beauty is coming to life this season. Thanks for sharing your garden joy with us♥
Hi Robyn! I'm so glad to hear you shared your coffee with my video this morning! Things are really waking up. Fortunately were getting occasional rain which has been a blessing, helping things in the garden a lot. Thanks for watching, and for your support. Have a beautiful day!
I love my firelight tidbits.
Great to hear Linda! Thanks for sharing.
You could spray the phlox with neem oil. It's my magic fluid for everything
Thank you for the suggestion 🌱
Steph, you have so many beautiful plants and specimens to look at!I absolutely love how the Japanese garden has turned out and your whole yard is just amazing 😊🌹
Thank you so much Pam for your kind words 💚
Your gardens are beautiful thank you for sharing and teaching - you help take the scary part of gardening out for me - thank you 😃
You are so welcome!
Hi Steph, things are looking really lush and beautiful! I am envious of your Cantelope Supreme double coneflower! Last summer I splurged on a 3 gal Monrovia Cantelope Supreme because of the color and beauty. It came back this year as a single cone with an unattractive garish orange color, I am so diappointed as it looks nothing like last years beauty. Thank you for this great tour, I always enjoy and learn from your videos
Hi Heidi! Thank you so much! Listen, don't be disapointed in your coneflower just yet. They sometimes start out as singles, and then as the blooms pick up, you start getting the doubles. Keep me posted, I'm curious. Fingers crossed for you 🤞💚
Hi Stef🌺 . What abeautiful flowers in your garden also the shrubs and japanese maples trees . Stef you can plant inthe wet bed ligularia and lavatera ... Happy anniversary to you and your husband and have a fantastic day .🌺💐🌺
Hi Lina, Thank you so much for the recommendation, I will add Ligularia to my list of plants on my phone to check out if I come across it. Thanks you, and have a great weekend Lina!
Hello 👋🏾 Steph! Your garden is a thing of beauty and a HUGE inspiration for us all. Thank you so much for sharing and stay blessed!
-Calvin
Thank you so very much Calvin! Same to you 🌱
You're garden is so neat and beautiful. You're also amazing at giving a tour- probably the best at giving a garden tour I've ever watched on CZcams!
wow Grace, thank you so much for you kind words ☺💚
You have a gorgeous garden! Love your garden very much! for Scabies plant , you can try to cut a few long flowering stem down to the base of plant, the new branch will come out, by the November, just cut the new branches (don't need dig out the plant) and plant to any place you like, next year they will bloom .I did every year , have lot of this plants in my garden. Like your video and subscribed!
Yay! I hope you are doing well my sweet friend! So happy for a garden tour Steph! Your garden is just spectacular! 😍
Hi Mary! Getting over a summer cold, but well otherwise. Thank you so much!! 💚
Way to go George! Great job! Everything looks lovely Steph! I love the combination of the rose and clematis on the trellis. You grow so many wonderful flowers and plants I wish I could grow here in SoCal 9b.
roses and boxwoods stress me out from all the issues they can go through. Beautiful garden!
I can see that Ivette, the roses do cause me stress. The boxwoods I don't have much experience with yet, but I'm going to find out as I plan on planting some soon. I wish I could plant tator tot arborvitae but I'm worried the deer will decimate them. Boxwood are more deer resistant.
That Spruce & cascading maple! ❤
This might be a weird comment but thank you for mentioning a problem you might have in your garden. I sometimes feel so defeated when I have to struggle and work so hard to keep my garden healthy from pests and such. CZcams gardeners would have you believe it’s all rainbows and unicorns in their gardens.
🦄🌈
You're so welcome! we all have struggles in our gardens. I like to share those as well so we know we're not alone. Thanks for the comment.
Wow…stunning home and awesome garden…I’m truly impressed….your a very lucky Woman you have a beautiful place it’s a showcase
Thank you 😊
Friend so I apologize but I am really just barely getting to this video. Wow so much gorgeousness from you guys and your efforts. Larkspur are awesome and they will also self seed. Should be around 18" to 2' tall. That LOUISIANA Iris is something. Love that the color is more a true purple and not so violet as is most often the case in Flora.
Hi Marc, Yay, I'm excited to see how the larkspur does. Waiting on blooms. The iris is great. Thank you so much! Have a great weekend!
Thank you both for a very enjoyable Summer garden tour. also Congratulations.
Just love your garden, from Australia.
Hi Marie, Thank you so much! The garden is looking lovely, and brings me joy. My flowers peak in July, I can't wait. Hope your having a beautiful day in Australia!
Wonderful tour of a fantastic garden. I’ve learned so much from you. I’m celebrating 19 years of marriage this year too ❤ happy anniversary, here’a to more garden memories.
Hi there, Thank you so much! Glad to help ☺Happy Anniversary to you as well!! 🥂🍾
Great tour!! Love all the beds and paths you’ve created over time, looks amazing!!!
Happy Anniversary guys!! 🌲🌳🌼🌺🌻🌷
Thanks so much! 😊 🌼🌷🌳🌸
Absolutely!! You’re most welcome sista!
I love globeflowers too!! I planted in front of the purple smoke bush. It makes the flowers pop with background of purple and see the flowers swirling in the wind!
Sounds like such a pretty combination 💚
I prefer the floppy waving grass , the movement is magical. Ps you prune well .
Your garden is beautiful!
Thank you so much! 🌱
Estoy encantada viendo tú canal
I have had the early Phlox in my garden for four years now and do not have any issues with powdery mildew. Hopefully, thinning out your day lilies will take care of that for you.
Everything is looking absolutely beautiful in your garden. I’m down the cape and my garden is behind and it’s ahead depending on how you look at it this year it’s been strange we had a few spring things blooming way before their time and some late spring booms way behind. It seems to be catching up at this point with temps up higher now. Interesting to see different parts of the state be so different. ❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Anthony! Thats so interesting. I feel like its too early for some of my flowers to be blooming already. Although, I can't even believe its the end of June, and that its Summer! I feel like I'm in some kind of time warp this season. Probably because of all the rain (which we certainly need and I love), but its keeping us indoor more these past few weeks. Anyhow, thanks so much for your comment, and for watching!
Your garden beds are beautiful! I especially love the Japanese maples.
Thank you so much Robin ☺🍁
I have just made a flower bed on the lawn. Now to fill it with Maples and perrenials!
woohoo! Enjoy. Happy Gardening 🌱
Beautiful tour thanks for sharing lots of fun projects coming up. Happy Anniversary 🎉
Thanks so much Kim! 💚
Beautiful tour Steph 🥰 everything is looking absolutely gorgeous 🥰 excellent job George and Happy Anniversary to you both 🥰🥰
Thank you so much Jasmine!🤗💚
Steph I’m new to your channel I had seen your videos before and loved them your yard is so so beautiful it shows how much you work on it I have problems with deer so I’m glad that I read some of the comments and there it was the answer I just order the wireless deer fence thank you ❤❤❤❤🌺🌺🌺🌱🌱🌱
Hi Silvia! Thank you so much for your kind words 💚 I'm so glad you were able to find the info on the deer spikes. I hope they work out for you. Take care!
Happy Anniversary! Beautiful garden and cute dress too.
Best June garden I’ve seen! Thank you both!
Thank you so very much. I'm glad you enjoyed ☺
Love your channel. Your voice is very calming, I look forward to your videos. You do such a great job.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoy them. I appreciate your kind words.
Such a beautiful garden. Thank you for the tour.
Absolutely gorgeous yard! Tell hubby thanks again for his help. Lol tfs blessings 🥰👵🏽🪴🤢🪻🌹
Thank you, I will Carrie ☺
Beautiful garden I really enjoy the way you married everything together. The beeping in the background really threw me off because I thought it was at my house and I kept looking out the window hahaha!
Thank you so much! lol I know that beeping was really distracting for me too. Thankfully it was mostly blocked by my mic, and now the work next door is mostly done, hooray!
What a beautiful garden. You have done an amazing job. Love your garden tours. Im in UK, I only have a small garden but love to get ideas from you. I have made another flower bed from part of the lawn and put down some stepping stones and gravel, so my lawn is much smaller, but it makes the garden so much more interesting.
Beautiful garden! Tell me more about these deer spikes you keep referencing. Do they really keep deer away? How do they work? Thanks so much for sharing your lovely garden and your extensive knowledge. And props to your husband for the stellar camera work.
I had the same question. Thanks!
Hi there! Thank you so much for watching, he did a great job😊 The deer spikes, I find they are working well so far! They're a deer training system. Basically they are placed next to plants deer are attracted too. They have a floral scent pellet on them, and once they sniff them, it gives them little zap similar to static electricity, and scares them off. Here's where I purchased them from: wirelessdeerfence.com/
Thank you for the beautiful tour! ❤❤ Loved your shout out to your cameraman. My husband also doesnt love yard work which works out great for me because he loves when i add new garden beds since hes the one who mows and i do everything else 😅😂
Hi there! He doesn't love yard work, but is always willing to help me and I'm so very grateful for him. We have the same agreement here, I deal with the beds, and he does the mowing. Although mine does gripe when I want more beds/planting space lol. Tells me its more "obstacles" for him to mow and weed whack around haha. Thank you so much for your kind words, and for watching. Have a great weekend!
A big willow tree would be great in your high water table area ❤
I would love a willow Betty! we have a septic system and well though, so my husband is always concerned it would damage those when the roots seek water. Great recomendation for high water though.
Love the elderberry and blueberries! Happy Anniversary!🎉😊😊
Thank you so much 😀
Wow everything looks so Beautiful you have a very unique and elegant taste, I watch all your videos! Thank you for sharing! you are the Best 💕💐💯
Love of finding your chanel everything Beutiful 💖👍🏻💖
Thank you so much Jeneta! Thanks for being here!
I just found your channel and this tour was a pleasure to watch. I'm just starting out gardening with a blank slate and you have given me lots of ideas. Your presentation was so enjoyable and relaxing to watch and your husband did a fantastic job behind the camera. Happy Anniversary! I can tell you have put a lot of work into your gardening..it shows! As does your enjoyment of doing it! Thanks for taking us along.
Hi Jessica! Welcome to my channel, and thank you so much for your wonderful comments and kind words. A blank slate is so exciting, but can also be overwhelming. Take your time choosing your plants. Choose things you love and that speak to you. And importantly, be mindful of full size of plants, and give them ample space. That's one area I made a mistake when starting my gardens, and it caused me to have to rip things out and move things around alot as my garden matured. Hope this helps, and thanks again for visiting my channel. Take care! 😊🌱
Wow, very informative tours as well as beautiful to watch. I’m learning so much as I’m also increasing my flower selections in my garden. I love the shady bed. I have made some room in my space for that kind of plants. I would also like to plant a maple tree on my shady bed, I’m in MA. Any suggestion. Thanks for sharing ❤😊 keep it coming 🤗🌺🌸
Hi Maria, Thank you so much for your kind words. The crimson queen is a beautiful japanese maple. As is the Autumn Moon, and Moonrise. Thanks for watching!
Beautiful June garden, so informative and inspirational as always.
Happy Anniversary Steph and George 💚💚💚
Thanks so much Elizabeth! 💚
GORGEOUS!
So beautiful
Hi Steph! To answer your question, my perennial plants are ahead of their bloom times as well. In Pennsylvania zone 7a we had unseasonable weather this past winter with no snow and somewhat warmer temperatures than the norm. I believe that is the reason why. Your June garden looks splendid. Thanks for sharing and congratulations on your 19th wedding anniversary!
Great tour Steph. I too need to dig up many dayliles that take up too much space and no longer produce a lot of flowers. Of course that means MORE trips to Briggs or Lowe's and Home Depot. It thankfully NEVER ends !!! Best wishes from Bridgewater zone 6.
Hi Alice! I know what you mean. But a clean slate is fun. It allows us to try different plant combinations and find something else that can bring us joy. Trips to Briggs, Lowes & Home Depot are always a good time! Thanks for watching.
Bravo to George...what a trooper...........great video tour and happy 19th anniversary to you both.....woohoo!
I think you were searching for larkspur, which is a smaller and delicate version of delphiniums.
I dont usually like asiatic day lillies but those pink ones are so pretty.
Looking awesome Steph.🎉
The Japanese painted ferns are thriving!
Jo.
Cant go wrong with lupins, especially in large gardens with plenty of room.
Theyre sculpturally stunning.
Is baptisia related to the lupin and pea family?
Has similar leaves.
You do so well on saving clearance plants.
Welldone!!!
Hi Jo! I agree, I'm very selective as to which lilies I like...typically its white, pink, or peachy apricot. I had lupins last year and they were gorgeous! I moved them because the bed was too crowded, and they weren't happy as they have a large tap root making them difficult to transplant. So they died. Now I'm trying them in a new spot with these bare root lupine. Fingers crossed! Thanks for watching!
Yes, lupins are usually staying put once planted.
Very hard to dig out without breaking the large tap root.😊
Beautiful garden your Gomphrena border last year was spectacular
Thanks so much for all your time to share such wonderful information and your garden is beautiful. I got some serendipity allium because yours was so beautiful last year. They are finishing blooming if I deadhead them will they bloom again???? Thanks so much!!!
Hi Pam, Thank you so much for your kind words! Unfortunately those don't seem to rebloom after deadheading. However, I would recommend deadheadign them when they are done. I didn't think they self seeded, but last year, I left the seed heads up too long, before deadheading, and this year, I have what looks to be tons of grassy like weeds or seedlings below the alliums. Just an observation. Have a great weekend.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Happy Anniversary. I like seeing Sea hollies.
Thank you so much! Sea holly is a cool plant.
Amazing time
Good Day my friend. The Black lace Elderberry you should move to where you have the blueberries planted and there you can let it be and the plant can grow big tall and be able to give you all the wonderful blooms that it is known for. As well as you don't need to prune it so it can enjoy it's life. Enjoyed your tour and have a wonderful day.
Love everything!!
Love you plant combinations 👍❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much Deb!
In Maryland, zone 7, we are definitely early with everything!! I hope I still have color in August🤞.
Do you know the kind of iris you showed at the corner of your front walkway and in the back by your shed? I saw something like that at a garden recently, and although I took a picture of the flower, I didn't get the tag in the picture. I have bearded irises and siberian irises, so I know it's neither of those.
Watch out for that joe pye weed. My dwarf variety is just about 4 feet tall and wide😮.
I love your Japanese Maple tree garden!!
Beautiful. Lilies do get out of control. I yanked a few today.
Love your gardens! Beautiful job filming as well🌺
Thank you so much Marilyn ☺
A looooooot of work done.Congrats!
Very true. Hard to realize sometimes when doing the day to day. Thank you so much! 🌱
I benefit so much from your tours. I always learn new things to apply to my garden. Your garden is an inspiration & thank you Steph for sharing your beautiful space! ❤
Thank you so much for your kind words! You are so welcome!
Everything looks so beautiful. I enjoyed it all. That purple Iris is so pretty. Thank you for sharing!! Congratulations on your anniversary 🌹🎁😊
lantana will take over the container as long as there is heat and sun. I just dont have any bigger container than what i already gave it the last 2 years cuz in this ground soil, they struggle too much.
Thanks for letting me know! I hope they grow quickly.
Happy Anniversary 🎉🎉💖💝💖💝💖
Hi Steph, thank you for showing us your beautiful gardens!! Your hard work is showing! Everything looks like it's flourishing! Looking forward to see how your gardens are growing over the summer. 🌱🌿🌳🌺
Happy Anniversary!!!🍾🥂🎉
Hi Jeanine, Thank you so much for watching, and for your comment 💚Have a great weekend!
@@HookedandRooted thank you! You too!
love it so Beautiful. Aww Happy Anniversary
Thank you so much!!
Really appreciate your sharing your garden challenges. That is how more beginner gardeners like me learn & don't get discouraged. Thank you for letting us know that the wee-white hydrangea need more shade. Seemed that the little lime hydrangea could take full fun well. Does it still require a lot of water?
Your very welcome. As jenny from creekside says, "we're all students of our own gardens". The garden is always teaching us what works and what doesn't. My little limelights are in full sun and handle it wonderfully! They are my favorite hydrangeas in my garden. They get average water, basically when it rains. I may supplement with watering when going through large stretches of dry hot weather. They have been planted in this spot 3 years now.
Omg Steph, I bot a golden sage Salvia. I have never seen anything like this. Cthe leaves look like gecko skin. You have to get one.
Love the tour❤
Just subscribed. Great video and garden tour. Love that your camera person/hubby zooms in nice and close to the plants. You do the best job of explaining your thought process in designing your garden! I’ll be going back and checking out your other videos. Love your great variety of plants and your excitement over rescued clearance plants! Happy Anniversary 😊
Thank you so much! and welcome to the channel 😊
Forget all my comments you have a magnificent Garden and home it’s absolutely stunning. What state do you live in to have the variety of plants that you have?
Thank you Caren, I'm in Massachusetts in a gardening zone 6.
Nice tour!
Absolutely beautiful!
You are an amazing gardener ❤Thank you ! Greetings from Chicago
I love watching your garden tours. Kudos to George, as well, who contributes to the overall loveliness of the entire yard. Lucky you! I would suggest you protect your beautiful lilies. I planted some tree lilies last year in a bed up close to my house. The deer chomped off the blooms. They've been eating my tomato foliage also. Bunnies also like Asiatic lilies. If I like a plant something wants to eat it. Sigh😢
Awe, happy anniversary George and Steph!! ♥️ gardens are looking beautiful. Thank you for the tour! 😊♥️🙏🏼
Thank you so much Stacey for you kind words. Thanks for watching, have a great weekend! 💚
Very Beautiful😍
Thank you! 😊
Your flower garden's are so beautiful, thank you for sharing and being so down to earth.❤
Your so welcome Judy, and thank you so much for your kind words 💚
Where is the solar fountain from in the backyard? Beautiful yard! I love watching
Hi Shannon! Thank you so much! I purchased it on Amazon a few years ago. While I can't find the exact one I have, I did find a few other solar options here: amzn.to/44xJSL1
Hi, Steph - As a suggestion, I think I would stake and tie up the grass that is flopping. It's so pretty, and maybe the stake and twine could be easily hidden in the back. Question regarding roses -- do you have any Oh-so-easy roses? I have two that bloom well in Spring, but after that one is struggling a little. There are no new blooms, the leaves are green and there is no sign of disease anywhere. I gave my roses a feed in early Spring. I'm wondering if anyone else is having the same issue? I had the same thing happen last year to this one rose bush in particular. Very frustrating! They are located a few yards away, so they get the same sun exposure. Ideas? Thank you.
Everything looks beautiful. How many Japanese Maples do you have? They are all gorgeous.
Hi Darlene, I'm not sure on the exact number but doing a quick count off memory I'm somewhere around 17 around the whole property. Thank you so much!
Just joined. Though I have seen your videos ….love your garden
I enjoyed your video!
Your garden is gorgeous Steph. Great job!
Thank you so much Sue, as are yours! 💚
