As Muslims, we believe in the punishment of the grave. There are many narrations which verify its authenticity. One such narration is: The Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said, "Seek Allaah's protection from the Punishment of the Grave, since the Punishment of the Grave is a fact/true." (Saheeh: At-Tabraanee in 'al-Kabeer' from Umm Khaalid bint Khaalid ibn Sa'eed ibn al-'Aas.) Our righteous predecessors have mentioned many stories in this regard, some of which are as follows: Ibn Abi'd Dunya (rahimahullah) mentioned that one of his companions said, “My brother died and I saw him in a dream. I said, "How was it when you were placed in your grave?" He replied, "Someone brought me a fiery flame and if it had not been that someone else made supplication for me, I think he would have hit me with it.” ("The Soul journey after death" an abridgement of Ibn al-Qayyim's kitabar-ruh.) Bashar b. Ghalib (rahimahullah) said, “I saw Rabia, on whose behalf I make frequent supplication, in a dream. She said to me, "Bashar b. Ghalib! Your gifts have been brought to me on plates of light, covered in silken cloths." I asked, "How can that be?" She replied, "That is what the supplication of living believers is like. When they make supplication for a dead person, that supplication is answered for them on plates of light, veiled in silken cloths. Then they are brought to the dead person for whom the supplication was said and they are told, 'This is the gift of so-and-so to you.'” ” ("The Soul journey after death" an abridgement of Ibn al-Qayyim's kitabar-ruh.) Amr bin Dinar (rahimahullah) said “The sister of one of the men of Medina died and he buried her. When he came back from the burial, he remembered that he had left something in the grave. He asked one of his companions to help him. His companion related that they had dug up the grave and found what they were looking for. Then the man said, "Let us dig further and find out what has happened to my sister." He lifted up one of the stones covering the burial cavity and found the grave filled with fire. He replaced it and filled in the grave again. Then he returned to his mother and asked, "What was my sister really like?" She replied, "Why do you ask about her when she is dead?" He said, "Tell me." She said, "She used to delay the prayer and she also used to go to our neighbours' doors, put her ear to them, and then tell other people what they said." ("The Soul journey after death" an abridgement of Ibn al-Qayyim's kitabar-ruh.) One of the early Muslims said, "We passed by a watering-place on the way to Basra. We heard the braying of a donkey and asked the people there what the braying was. They replied that it was one of the men who used to be with them whose mother had asked him for something and he had told her to bray like a donkey. Since his death, this braying had been heard every night from his grave.” ("The Soul journey after death" an abridgement of Ibn al-Qayyim's kitabar-ruh.) The torment in the grave will vary according to the sins committed by the person in this world, whether he was a disbeliever or a disobedient Muslim. There are authentic narrations which describe this torment for the people who commit these sins. For example: 1 - Being struck with an iron hammer. It was narrated from Anas (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:  “When a person is placed in his grave and his companions leave him, and he can no longer hear the sound of their sandals (footsteps), two angels come to him and make him sit up, and they ask him, ‘What did you say about this man Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)?’ He says, ‘I bear witness that he is the slave of Allaah and His Messenger.’ It is said, ‘Look at your place in Hell which Allaah has replaced for you with a place in Paradise.’” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “And he sees them both. But as for the kaafir or hypocrite, he says, ‘I do not know, I used to say what the people said.’ It is said, ‘You did not know and you did not follow those who knew.’ Then he is struck a blow with an iron hammer between his ears and he screams a scream which everything around him can hear apart from the two races (of mankind and the jinn).” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1222.) 2 -7: Furnishings from Hell are prepared for him; he is clothed with fire; a door to Hell is opened for him; his grave is made narrow for him; he is struck with a great hammer which, if a mountain were to be struck with it, it would turn to dust; and he is given the tidings of torment in the Hereafter. Hence he will wish that the hour would never come. Ahmad (17803) and Abu Dawood (4753) narrated that al-Baraa’ ibn ‘Aazib said: "We went out with the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) for the funeral of a man from among the Ansaar. We came to the grave and when (the deceased) was placed in the lahd, the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) sat down and we sat around him, as if there were birds on our heads (i.e. quiet and still). In his hand he had a stick with which he was scratching the ground. Then he raised his head and said, “Seek refuge with Allaah from the torment of the grave,” two or three times. Then he mentioned the soul of the believer and how he is blessed in his grave. Then he said: “But when the disbelieving slave is about to depart this world and enter the Hereafter, there come down to him from heaven angels with black faces, bringing sackcloth, and they sit around him as far as the eye can see. Then the Angel of Death comes and sits by his head, and he says, ‘O evil soul, come forth to the wrath of Allaah and His anger.’ Then his soul disperses inside his body, then comes out cutting the veins and nerves, like a skewer passing through wet wool. When he seizes it, they do not leave it in his hand for an instant before they take it and put it in that sackcloth, and there comes from it a stench like the foulest stench of a dead body on the face of the earth. Then they ascend and they do not pass by any group of angels but they say, ‘Who is this evil soul?’ and they say, ‘It is so and so, the son of so and so, calling him by the worst names by which he was known in this world, until they reach the lowest heaven. They ask for it to be opened to them and it is not opened.” Then the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) recited (interpretation of the meaning): “For them the gates of heaven will not be opened, and they will not enter Paradise until the camel goes through the eye of the needle.” [al-A’raaf, 7:40] He said: “Then Allaah says, ‘Record the book of My slave in Sijjeen in the lowest earth, and return him to the earth, for from it I created them, to it I will return them and from it I will bring them forth once again.’ So his soul is cast down.” Then the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) recited the verse (interpretation of the meaning): “And whoever assigns partners to Allaah, it is as if he had fallen from the sky, and the birds had snatched him, or the wind had thrown him to a far off place.” [al-Hajj, 22:31] He said: “Then his soul is returned to his body, and there come to him two angels who make him sit up and they say to him, ‘Who is your Lord?’ He says, ‘Oh, oh, I don’t know.’ They say, ‘What is your religion?’ He says, ‘Oh, oh, I don’t know.’ Then a voice calls out from heaven, ‘Prepare for him a bed from Hell and clothe him from Hell, and open for him a gate to Hell.’ Then there comes to him some of its heat and hot winds, and his grave is constricted and compresses him until his ribs interlock. Then there comes to him a man with an ugly face and ugly clothes, and a foul stench, who says, ‘Receive the bad news, this is the day that you were promised.’ He says, ‘Who are you? Your face is a face which forebodes evil.’ He says, ‘I am your evil deeds.’ He says, ‘O Lord, do not let the Hour come, do not let the Hour come.’” (This hadeeth was classed as saheeh by Shaykh al-Albaani in Ahkaam al-Janaa’iz, p. 156) 8 - Being swallowed up by the earth. It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whilst a man was dragging his lower garment out of pride, the earth swallowed him up and he will continue sinking into the earth until the Day of Resurrection.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5345; Muslim, 3894) 9- The edge of the mouth being torn to the back of the head. 10- The head being smashed with a rock. 11- Being burnt in a tannoor oven 12- Swimming in a river of blood whilst being pelted with stones.
The "doctor" is missing the point of the question. The gist of it was _"How can God not be sadistic if he creates humans for the express purpose of going to hell?"_ His answer was that humans are "superior" to angels thanks to our free will. With our free will, we get the choice to determine our own fate. But that is inconsistent with his own faith. According to his beliefs, God created the universe and the world, heaven and hell, as well as humans and designed us to be flawed and sinful. He also created space and time, and being outside space and time, he can see all future events that will occur. That means _all our destinies are predetermined; there is no free will at all_. If it's already decided whether I am going to hell, none of my actions can change that (or could I change Gods' plan?). The unfortunate logical conclusion to his beliefs is: We are not free, but more like robots, preprogrammed to act according to a script, after which we are sent to hell or heaven depending on the script. I agree with the questioner; _How is that not sadistic!_ Also, his analogies are entirely ridiculous. He compares God to a teacher, administering a test. Well, that's a bad analogy unless the teacher _created the students_ and punished their incorrect answers with _an eternity in hell._ He also compared heaven with a medical college and said, why create a school that only a select few can enter? Well, that's a perfectly good analogy, except for the fact that _people who don't attend medical school don't get punished for eternity._ The "doctor" avoids to adress the obvious implication of the question, that God created us in a manner where hell (also of his design) is unavoidable for most people. Even if we did have "free will" (which we arguably don't), then the mere fact that we get punished for eternity if we choose "wrong" makes the entire concept of free will a supremely undesirable trait. The point is, God could have created us in this fragile, flawed way, without the obligatory punishment for billions of people and the arbitrary salvation for a "select few", but he didn't. Even I am more moral than that.
That is a good point and I completely understand what you mean. But isn't it better to just believe in god do as he tells us then ask him these questions when we get the chance to meet him..? I've been dwelling in these questions alot too. But I can't disbelieve in god at the same time. The point is he exists and we need to believe and as for these questions only god himself can answer them after all he is much smarter then us and it is only from the smarter being we can get a satisfactory answer.

Well it's a creation. So it has to be created by someone, which is god. It can't appear out of thin air. And god wouldn't sit in hell now would he if that's the place of punishment for sinners? He would just leave them there. Like prison. It's not just darkness. It's described to be a place of fire and torment. And as for understanding the whole idea of why would god call it free will when he already knows what we will do. Well that's something we have to ask god. There will always be questions in our head that humans can't answer because we all are limited. God has intelligence beyond our capacity that's why we can't understand certain things. We are not god. So these questions can only be answered by him. So my point is all we need to do now is just believe in him and do as he has told us to. And when we meet him we'll ask him all these questions.

If we can't change the future, our choices are _predetermined_, not free. I just follow the hypothesis to its' logical conclusion. You also say that God didn't create hell, but where does it come from then? The view of God that is consistent with scripture implies that he is eternal, and the creator of all things, yes? Does anything ever happen outside Gods' awareness? I assume not. So, according to monotheism, he created _all things_ (that's including hell, yes). This infers that he is, if not the designer of hell, then at least he allows it to exist, which, as an omnipotent (and omnibenevolent?) being, makes him equally accountable for its' implications.

For them, this drastic transformation is a proof for the existence of Jesus, and how he can change their lives. Some converted because they have seen scientific proofs that validate Christianity (the miracles of Jesus, his death and his resurection), for them it's a proof of the existence of God. Maybe some people converted for other reasons. What I wanted to tell you through that is that people converts to Christianity for multiple reasons. But if they convert, there is always a reason, something that makes them think that it is true. Something that makes them think it's worth it to give it a try. A PROOF. So, yeah, faith is based on some kind of "proof". And it's pretty funny when yourself and other critics of the Quran say "it doesn't have this or it doesn't have that" when you haven't even read it first hand to know or not. Even Zakir says that with all of the science in the Quran, it is a book of signs rather than science. It wasn't supposed to be an all encompassing science text book for you. It was supposed to have enough science and enough material to have the reader realize that this book was not written by man, enough to convince that the source of ths information came from above, which would allow the reader to understand exactly where the book came from, which would lend credence to the rest of the content included in the Quran. The science mentioned in the Quran was very advanced for that time period, and being revealed to an illiterate, uneducated man pretty much sums it up.

If it is a book of signs (and yes, you're right, I haven't read it), then, just like the signs and wonders in Christianity, why have they been no closer to fulfillment? Why hasn't it been updated if it has been around since the beginning of time, as the speaker has said in this video, why are it's teachings not updated so that these mixtures of science and signs be unquestioned? This invisible man in the sky that tests us has a major flaw. And that is being unseen and uninvolved in his creation's lives. So in truth it has the same folly as the Christian bible, and many other religions. The man asked the speaker in this clip: if you kno that a child should not eat or touch something (for example poison), ate you going to (a): put it on front of the child that doesn't understand the gravity of the situation and say "don't touch it", when inevitably the child, not understanding you or himself, will still go and touch it/play with it/eat it. And not only that, while he is dying, you as a parent punish him. Isn't dying enough of a consequence? Or (b): DON'T put it on front of the child, teach the child about why he shouldn't eat it, or that he's too young to, or just keep it away from him. And have the result of a child that is well taught about the consequences of his actions? I understand that religious texts offer insight in some times. And good insight as a matter of fact. But that's all it is. Good insight. I can choose to take what I want from it to influence my life. Believers on the other hand, have to follow it to the T, out of fear of the consequences.
I think what this reveals is that human being tend to want to shift the blame for their conditions to everything including God, but refuse to reflect on how they themselves create their own suffering. The Judgements of God are actually best understood as natural consequences of the behaviours and actions of human beings themselves. I think the Elder answered these questions very well. Human beings have fallen very far since the days of Ahdam. We have become so narcissistic we don't see how we have created our own conditions for suffering. It is self torment more than anything. It takes honest self reflection and introspection to understand this reality.

As Muslims, we believe in the punishment of the grave. There are many narrations which verify its authenticity. One such narration is: The Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said, "Seek Allaah's protection from the Punishment of the Grave, since the Punishment of the Grave is a fact/true." (Saheeh: At-Tabraanee in 'al-Kabeer' from Umm Khaalid bint Khaalid ibn Sa'eed ibn al-'Aas.)
Our righteous predecessors have mentioned many stories in this regard, some of which are as follows:
Ibn Abi'd Dunya (rahimahullah) mentioned that one of his companions said, “My brother died and I saw him in a dream. I said, "How was it when you were placed in your grave?" He replied,
"Someone brought me a fiery flame and if it had not been that someone else made supplication for me, I think he would have hit me with it.” ("The Soul journey after death" an abridgement of Ibn al-Qayyim's kitabar-ruh.)
Bashar b. Ghalib (rahimahullah) said, “I saw Rabia, on whose behalf I make frequent supplication, in a dream. She said to me,
"Bashar b. Ghalib! Your gifts have been brought to me on plates of light, covered in silken cloths."
I asked, "How can that be?" She replied,
"That is what the supplication of living believers is like. When they make supplication for a dead person, that supplication is answered for them on plates of light, veiled in silken cloths. Then they are brought to the dead person for whom the supplication was said and they are told, 'This is the gift of so-and-so to you.'” ” ("The Soul journey after death" an abridgement of Ibn al-Qayyim's kitabar-ruh.)
Amr bin Dinar (rahimahullah) said “The sister of one of the men of Medina died and he buried her. When he came back from the burial, he remembered that he had left something in the grave. He asked one of his companions to help him. His companion related that they had dug up the grave and found what they were looking for. Then the man said, "Let us dig further and find out what has happened to my sister." He lifted up one of the stones covering the burial cavity and found the grave filled with fire. He replaced it and filled in the grave again. Then he returned to his mother and asked, "What was my sister really like?" She replied, "Why do you ask about her when she is dead?" He said, "Tell me." She said,
"She used to delay the prayer and she also used to go to our neighbours' doors, put her ear to them, and then tell other people what they said." ("The Soul journey after death" an abridgement of Ibn al-Qayyim's kitabar-ruh.)
One of the early Muslims said,
"We passed by a watering-place on the way to Basra. We heard the braying of a donkey and asked the people there what the braying was. They replied that it was one of the men who used to be with them whose mother had asked him for something and he had told her to bray like a donkey. Since his death, this braying had been heard every night from his grave.” ("The Soul journey after death" an abridgement of Ibn al-Qayyim's kitabar-ruh.)
The torment in the grave will vary according to the sins committed by the person in this world, whether he was a disbeliever or a disobedient Muslim. There are authentic narrations which describe this torment for the people who commit these sins. For example:
1 - Being struck with an iron hammer.
It was narrated from Anas (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

“When a person is placed in his grave and his companions leave him, and he can no longer hear the sound of their sandals (footsteps), two angels come to him and make him sit up, and they ask him, ‘What did you say about this man Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)?’ He says, ‘I bear witness that he is the slave of Allaah and His Messenger.’ It is said, ‘Look at your place in Hell which Allaah has replaced for you with a place in Paradise.’” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “And he sees them both. But as for the kaafir or hypocrite, he says, ‘I do not know, I used to say what the people said.’ It is said, ‘You did not know and you did not follow those who knew.’ Then he is struck a blow with an iron hammer between his ears and he screams a scream which everything around him can hear apart from the two races (of mankind and the jinn).” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1222.)
2 -7: Furnishings from Hell are prepared for him; he is clothed with fire; a door to Hell is opened for him; his grave is made narrow for him; he is struck with a great hammer which, if a mountain were to be struck with it, it would turn to dust; and he is given the tidings of torment in the Hereafter. Hence he will wish that the hour would never come.
Ahmad (17803) and Abu Dawood (4753) narrated that al-Baraa’ ibn ‘Aazib said:
"We went out with the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) for the funeral of a man from among the Ansaar. We came to the grave and when (the deceased) was placed in the lahd, the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) sat down and we sat around him, as if there were birds on our heads (i.e. quiet and still). In his hand he had a stick with which he was scratching the ground. Then he raised his head and said, “Seek refuge with Allaah from the torment of the grave,” two or three times. Then he mentioned the soul of the believer and how he is blessed in his grave. Then he said: “But when the disbelieving slave is about to depart this world and enter the Hereafter, there come down to him from heaven angels with black faces, bringing sackcloth, and they sit around him as far as the eye can see. Then the Angel of Death comes and sits by his head, and he says, ‘O evil soul, come forth to the wrath of Allaah and His anger.’ Then his soul disperses inside his body, then comes out cutting the veins and nerves, like a skewer passing through wet wool. When he seizes it, they do not leave it in his hand for an instant before they take it and put it in that sackcloth, and there comes from it a stench like the foulest stench of a dead body on the face of the earth. Then they ascend and they do not pass by any group of angels but they say, ‘Who is this evil soul?’ and they say, ‘It is so and so, the son of so and so, calling him by the worst names by which he was known in this world, until they reach the lowest heaven. They ask for it to be opened to them and it is not opened.” Then the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) recited (interpretation of the meaning):
“For them the gates of heaven will not be opened, and they will not enter Paradise until the camel goes through the eye of the needle.” [al-A’raaf, 7:40]
He said: “Then Allaah says, ‘Record the book of My slave in Sijjeen in the lowest earth, and return him to the earth, for from it I created them, to it I will return them and from it I will bring them forth once again.’ So his soul is cast down.” Then the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) recited the verse (interpretation of the meaning):
“And whoever assigns partners to Allaah, it is as if he had fallen from the sky, and the birds had snatched him, or the wind had thrown him to a far off place.” [al-Hajj, 22:31]
He said: “Then his soul is returned to his body, and there come to him two angels who make him sit up and they say to him, ‘Who is your Lord?’ He says, ‘Oh, oh, I don’t know.’ They say, ‘What is your religion?’ He says, ‘Oh, oh, I don’t know.’ Then a voice calls out from heaven, ‘Prepare for him a bed from Hell and clothe him from Hell, and open for him a gate to Hell.’ Then there comes to him some of its heat and hot winds, and his grave is constricted and compresses him until his ribs interlock. Then there comes to him a man with an ugly face and ugly clothes, and a foul stench, who says, ‘Receive the bad news, this is the day that you were promised.’ He says, ‘Who are you? Your face is a face which forebodes evil.’ He says, ‘I am your evil deeds.’ He says, ‘O Lord, do not let the Hour come, do not let the Hour come.’” (This hadeeth was classed as saheeh by Shaykh al-Albaani in Ahkaam al-Janaa’iz, p. 156)
8 - Being swallowed up by the earth.
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“Whilst a man was dragging his lower garment out of pride, the earth swallowed him up and he will continue sinking into the earth until the Day of Resurrection.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5345; Muslim, 3894)
9- The edge of the mouth being torn to the back of the head.
10- The head being smashed with a rock.
11- Being burnt in a tannoor oven
12- Swimming in a river of blood whilst being pelted with stones.

The "doctor" is missing the point of the question. The gist of it was _"How can God not be sadistic if he creates humans for the express purpose of going to hell?"_
His answer was that humans are "superior" to angels thanks to our free will. With our free will, we get the choice to determine our own fate. But that is inconsistent with his own faith.
According to his beliefs, God created the universe and the world, heaven and hell, as well as humans and designed us to be flawed and sinful. He also created space and time, and being outside space and time, he can see all future events that will occur. That means _all our destinies are predetermined; there is no free will at all_. If it's already decided whether I am going to hell, none of my actions can change that (or could I change Gods' plan?).
The unfortunate logical conclusion to his beliefs is: We are not free, but more like robots, preprogrammed to act according to a script, after which we are sent to hell or heaven depending on the script. I agree with the questioner; _How is that not sadistic!_
Also, his analogies are entirely ridiculous. He compares God to a teacher, administering a test. Well, that's a bad analogy unless the teacher _created the students_ and punished their incorrect answers with _an eternity in hell._
He also compared heaven with a medical college and said, why create a school that only a select few can enter? Well, that's a perfectly good analogy, except for the fact that _people who don't attend medical school don't get punished for eternity._
The "doctor" avoids to adress the obvious implication of the question, that God created us in a manner where hell (also of his design) is unavoidable for most people. Even if we did have "free will" (which we arguably don't), then the mere fact that we get punished for eternity if we choose "wrong" makes the entire concept of free will a supremely undesirable trait. The point is, God could have created us in this fragile, flawed way, without the obligatory punishment for billions of people and the arbitrary salvation for a "select few", but he didn't. Even I am more moral than that.

But isn't it better to just believe in god do as he tells us then ask him these questions when we get the chance to meet him..? I've been dwelling in these questions alot too. But I can't disbelieve in god at the same time. Well it's a creation. So it has to be created by someone, which is god. It can't appear out of thin air. And god wouldn't sit in hell now would he if that's the place of punishment for sinners? He would just leave them there. Like prison.
It's not just darkness. It's described to be a place of fire and torment.
And as for understanding the whole idea of why would god call it free will when he already knows what we will do. Well that's something we have to ask god.
There will always be questions in our head that humans can't answer because we all are limited. God has intelligence beyond our capacity that's why we can't understand certain things. We are not god. So these questions can only be answered by him.
So my point is all we need to do now is just believe in him and do as he has told us to. And when we meet him we'll ask him all these questions.

But it must be the other way, unless God is not omniscient. You see, supposedly, God created space and time, which means he would know the future, right? Especially, if he is all-knowing, as well as all-powerful. So, unless you say that God _doesn't_ know the future, then there _is_ already a future waiting for us. If that is true, then we can't change it (or he wouldn't know the future, would he?). If we can't change the future, our choices are _predetermined_, not free. I just follow the hypothesis to its' logical conclusion.
You also say that God didn't create hell, but where does it come from then? The view of God that is consistent with scripture implies that he is eternal, and the creator of all things, yes? Does anything ever happen outside Gods' awareness? I assume not. So, according to monotheism, he created _all things_ (that's including hell, yes). This infers that he is, if not the designer of hell, then at least he allows it to exist, which, as an omnipotent (and omnibenevolent?) being, makes him equally accountable for its' implications.

There are people who converted to Christianity because they have seen a friend delivered from drugs and alchohol since they became Christian. For them, this drastic transformation is a proof for the existence of Jesus, and how he can change their lives. Some converted because they have seen scientific proofs that validate Christianity (the miracles of Jesus, his death and his resurection), for them it's a proof of the existence of God. Maybe some people converted for other reasons.
What I wanted to tell you through that is that people converts to Christianity for multiple reasons. But if they convert, there is always a reason, something that makes them think that it is true. Something that makes them think it's worth it to give it a try. A PROOF. So, yeah, faith is based on some kind of "proof".
Another thing I wanna add is that in your comments, you are telling me that the ultimate truth can only be found by ourselves (so basically the truth is subjective), but no offense but that's a lie. Truth is not subjective and telling me that is a bit hypocritical since you told me that I can only find the truth by myself.

He knows how to manipulate a crowd. It's funny because he doesn't allow people to give him hypotheticals, yet he answered in a hypothetical (the school teacher analogy). Then he chants about being a logical and scientific person so that he can seem to be correct in is arguments. He cannot back up the quaran(sp?) with science. It may have a small percentage of these things that work, like a lot of other religious books, but it's fallacy is believing that it has all the answers. Science does not make this audacious presumption.

So God punished God/his son for something he didn't do...so he could avoid punishing others?
And it's pretty funny when yourself and other critics of the Quran say "it doesn't have this or it doesn't have that" when you haven't even read it first hand to know or not.
Even Zakir says that with all of the science in the Quran, it is a book of signs rather than science. It wasn't supposed to be an all encompassing science text book for you. It was supposed to have enough science and enough material to have the reader realize that this book was not written by man, enough to convince that the source of ths information came from above, which would allow the reader to understand exactly where the book came from, which would lend credence to the rest of the content included in the Quran. The science mentioned in the Quran was very advanced for that time period, and being revealed to an illiterate, uneducated man pretty much sums it up.

If it is a book of signs (and yes, you're right, I haven't read it), then, just like the signs and wonders in Christianity, why have they been no closer to fulfillment? Why hasn't it been updated if it has been around since the beginning of time, as the speaker has said in this video, why are it's teachings not updated so that these mixtures of science and signs be unquestioned? This invisible man in the sky that tests us has a major flaw. And that is being unseen and uninvolved in his creation's lives. So in truth it has the same folly as the Christian bible, and many other religions.
The man asked the speaker in this clip: if you kno that a child should not eat or touch something (for example poison), ate you going to (a): put it on front of the child that doesn't understand the gravity of the situation and say "don't touch it", when inevitably the child, not understanding you or himself, will still go and touch it/play with it/eat it. And not only that, while he is dying, you as a parent punish him. Isn't dying enough of a consequence?
Or (b): DON'T put it on front of the child, teach the child about why he shouldn't eat it, or that he's too young to, or just keep it away from him. And have the result of a child that is well taught about the consequences of his actions?
I understand that religious texts offer insight in some times. And good insight as a matter of fact. But that's all it is. Good insight. I can choose to take what I want from it to influence my life. Believers on the other hand, have to follow it to the T, out of fear of the consequences.
I think what this reveals is that human being tend to want to shift the blame for their conditions to everything including God, but refuse to reflect on how they themselves create their own suffering. The Judgements of God are actually best understood as natural consequences of the behaviours and actions of human beings themselves. I think the Elder answered these questions very well. Human beings have fallen very far since the days of Ahdam. We have become so narcissistic we don't see how we have created our own conditions for suffering. It is self torment more than anything. It takes honest self reflection and introspection to understand this reality.

You will never find a people who ˹truly˺ believe in Allah and the Last Day loving those who defy Allah and His Messenger, even if they were their parents, children, siblings, or extended family. For those ˹believers˺, Allah has instilled faith in their hearts and strengthened them with a spirit from Him. He will admit them into Gardens under which rivers flow, to stay there forever. Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him. They are the party of Allah. Indeed, Allah’s party is bound to succeed.
