Remember: Dan Schneider and Brian Peck were just two people. We still don’t have answers for who added in their own sick stuff, approved this filth for a child audience, and OKAYED it. There are MANY more guilty parties in Nickelodeon, they’re just trying to scrape goat ALL the blame on them. They’re guilty, for sure, and should be put under the prison, but we have to remember there’s more wheels and cogs to this traumatic mess of an industry than these two.

The sad and unfortunate change that I see coming down the pipeline, is child/minor actors being replaced by *Artificial Intelligence (A.I.)* and "A.I. Actors" replacing humans is something I would NOT support. Lastly, these child actors sacrificed their childhood for our entertainment (I was born in 1996 and so I grew up with Nickelodeon) and so I hope that they all get the closure, support, *medical treatment (incl. Mental health)* , and recognition that they want/need/deserve! 💯
He's just a scapegoat for the rest of Hollywood. They are hoping that since Dan is gone, they'll not be harassed for these laws. Just like Weinstein. It'll go away for a while before the public demands another sacrifice on their part.

Same, never watched Nickelodeon as a youngster, it always creeped me out for some reason. Same for the Disney Channel btw. I only watched Cartoon Network and Boomerang.
I am 23 years old now. I was a child when these shows aired. I remember not watching and hating all of his shows unironically. Now I'm glad the kid version of my self had taste in TV and stuck to bangers like Spongebob
I remembered having such an aversion to some of the episodes of Victorious because of how awkward they made me feel... turns out of course they were fetish content made for the creators.
It happens every generation, information is released from victims. Then people put their kids in the business anyway because they crave fame and fortune over the wellbeing of their children. My parents turned down a few contract offers in the 80s and 90s offered to me because they knew better; all parents should act the same

My parents said no because they believe children need to be children and it has always come out in the past that p-dos are attracted to this industry. So even though I begged, my parents did not let me. I completely agree with their decision now that I’m older and lived in Manhattan and heard a lot of stories from people I met who actually were in the business. Unless you can be around your child 💯 of the time they are working, they will definitely at minimum be exposed to an adult world by their adult co-workers. Most parents are not allowed to be with them 💯 of the time. We all know there is the worse scenarios
It's crazy. the film sets I have worked on have been vastly different. With child actors, they have arranged a chaperone which is chosen in conjunction with the parents. And the parents have also been able to come on set too. In fact, there is still a requirement for a chaperone even when a parent is on set to ensure that parents themselves are not pushing the kids too far. They must the with the child at all times and they have no other responsibilities and are empowered to turn down any other requests. Scripts involving children are reviewed by an independent committee reviewed by a lawyer who specialises in the rights of children, to ensure they are appropriate. Some of these are also on set to ensure the director doesn't deviate and even still the chaperone or parent can object even if they previously agreed with it. Of course, even with that, there's still the possibility of abuse because there is always a bad person with motivation. But this is far better I have to say.

I don't know how to process the reality of the situation behind the scenes of shows that got me through childhood. Being in a broken home and dealing with abuse, these shows were my escape.
Predators often complain about cancel culture, and this is a great example of how it doesn’t really exist. His material conditions have not changed, he is not held accountable, he remains a rich man who isn’t imprisoned and has powerful associates.
In her autobiography Jeannette McCurdy said she was offered 300,000 dollars to stay quiet about her experiences working with Schneider but turned them down. She only hinted at what was going on, presumably for legal reasons but damn I had no idea it was this bad.

I spent my teens during the 80s. Never watched Nickleodeon or any of these type shows ( the hyperactive cartoons were pretty bad too, imo). I found them uncomfortable and very plastic with strained 'acting'/ dialogue. Now I understand why.
Danny Phantom was what got me hooked on that channel. I've never grown out of that series, since it remains a cautionary tale of growing up, without responsibility (Ultimate Enemy).
Yeah I really don’t remember too many live shows after 2002. After a quick google Zoey 101 in 04 was the last one I watched occasionally. Nick did have a good mix of live and cartoon stuff before 2000 though. Hilary Duff was definitely my last Kids show crush at age 12 or 13, and she still fine.😊 I’m sure all friends were no different lol.
I watched a CZcams video about Heather O'Rourke of Poltergeist fame. It implied her death was caused by severe internal damage by SA from TV execs off the set. Truly a horrific watch.

So Steve decided to hire Paul Tibbitt as his next showrunner. During the reign of Paul Tibbitt, Nick approved sadistic, mean-spirited episodes (mostly from Seasons 6 to 9A) such as A Pal for Gary (SB scolds Gary while being eaten by Puffy Fluffy), One Coarse Meal (writers and Nick thinks suicide is funny), Little Yellow Book (Squid reads SB's diary without permission and did it again in the ending), and SB You're Fired (Mr. Krabs fired SB just to save his own nickel). Fortunaltely, Steve returned for the second movie and run again until he passed away due to ALS in 2018. Least SB is fine till this day. Some fans want SB to end due to decline of quality, but Nick still uses it to capitalize on merchandise. -In The Loud House, Nick fortunately fired the show's creator Chris Savino for sexual harassment. The network still greenlit sadistic Loud House episodes like Brawl In The Family, No Such Luck, The Sweet Spot, Making the Grade, and Kings of the Con. Most of the time, the network treats the male protagonists Lincoln Loud and Clyde McBride as the show's punching bag whlie the 10 Loud sisters are the good ones. Least each sister has their own episodes though. Is Nick misogynistic? -Cancelling other good shows just because it's not as popular as SpongeBob. The Fairly OddParents creator Butch Hartman (his controversies aside), he wanted to end the show many times, but Nick push him too much just because it didn't reach the peak of SB. After Poof, the idiot Sparky, and the Mary Sue named Chloe Carmichael, the show ended abruptly on a bad note. The same goes for Invader Zim and Harvey Beaks. Nick also rejected Adventure Time and Phoebe and her Unicorn. They compared them to SB as their golden child. Now that sums up on why Nick is declining in quality. Most Gen-Alpha children watch Bluey and Skibidi Toilet.
Well, SpongeBob does keep Paramount going, so it’s no surprise they would keep it going. Also never mention Chloe’s Mary Sue ass again, it’s too dangerous.
Nickelodeon was notorious for squeezing sexual innuendos into their content. Their cartoons were riddled with adult jokes, its not surprising they would allow inappropriate behavior in live action.

I never understood the obsession behind these child shows from Disney and Nickelodeon. When I grew up as a teenager, the channels were not popular in my country and, when I flicked through the channels on my cable, every time I would land on a child TV series on either Disney Channel or Nickelodeon, every time they seemed a bit... off.

My parents said no because they believe children need to be children and it has always come out in the past that p-dos are attracted to this industry. So even though I begged, my parents did not let me. I completely agree with their decision now that I’m older and lived in Manhattan and heard a lot of stories from people I met who actually were in the business. Unless you can be around your child 💯 of the time they are working, they will definitely at minimum be exposed to an adult world by their adult co-workers. Most parents are not allowed to be with them 💯 of the time. We all know there is the worse scenarios
It's crazy. the film sets I have worked on have been vastly different.
With child actors, they have arranged a chaperone which is chosen in conjunction with the parents. And the parents have also been able to come on set too. In fact, there is still a requirement for a chaperone even when a parent is on set to ensure that parents themselves are not pushing the kids too far. They must the with the child at all times and they have no other responsibilities and are empowered to turn down any other requests.
Scripts involving children are reviewed by an independent committee reviewed by a lawyer who specialises in the rights of children, to ensure they are appropriate. Some of these are also on set to ensure the director doesn't deviate and even still the chaperone or parent can object even if they previously agreed with it.
Of course, even with that, there's still the possibility of abuse because there is always a bad person with motivation. But this is far better I have to say.

I spent my teens during the 80s. Never watched Nickleodeon or any of these type shows ( the hyperactive cartoons were pretty bad too, imo). I found them uncomfortable and very plastic with strained 'acting'/ dialogue.

What really made nickelodeon were the cartoons. Live action stuff was garbage.

Yeah I really don’t remember too many live shows after 2002. After a quick google Zoey 101 in 04 was the last one I watched occasionally. Nick did have a good mix of live and cartoon stuff before 2000 though. Hilary Duff was definitely my last Kids show crush at age 12 or 13, and she still fine.😊 I’m sure all friends were no different lol.

-Stephen Hillenberg wanted to end SpongeBob on season 3 after the first movie, but Nick wants to treat it like a cash cow. So Steve decided to hire Paul Tibbitt as his next showrunner. During the reign of Paul Tibbitt, Nick approved sadistic, mean-spirited episodes (mostly from Seasons 6 to 9A) such as A Pal for Gary (SB scolds Gary while being eaten by Puffy Fluffy), One Coarse Meal (writers and Nick thinks suicide is funny), Little Yellow Book (Squid reads SB's diary without permission and did it again in the ending), and SB You're Fired (Mr. Krabs fired SB just to save his own nickel). Fortunaltely, Steve returned for the second movie and run again until he passed away due to ALS in 2018. Least SB is fine till this day. Some fans want SB to end due to decline of quality, but Nick still uses it to capitalize on merchandise.
-In The Loud House, Nick fortunately fired the show's creator Chris Savino for sexual harassment. The network still greenlit sadistic Loud House episodes like Brawl In The Family, No Such Luck, The Sweet Spot, Making the Grade, and Kings of the Con. Most of the time, the network treats the male protagonists Lincoln Loud and Clyde McBride as the show's punching bag whlie the 10 Loud sisters are the good ones. Least each sister has their own episodes though. Is Nick misogynistic?
-Cancelling other good shows just because it's not as popular as SpongeBob. The Fairly OddParents creator Butch Hartman (his controversies aside), he wanted to end the show many times, but Nick push him too much just because it didn't reach the peak of SB. After Poof, the idiot Sparky, and the Mary Sue named Chloe Carmichael, the show ended abruptly on a bad note. The same goes for Invader Zim and Harvey Beaks. Nick also rejected Adventure Time and Phoebe and her Unicorn. They compared them to SB as their golden child.

I never understood the obsession behind these child shows from Disney and Nickelodeon. When I grew up as a teenager, the channels were not popular in my country and, when I flicked through the channels on my cable, every time I would land on a child TV series on either Disney Channel or Nickelodeon, every time they seemed a bit... off.
