10 Injuries That Ended Careers in Football
Imagine what Ronaldo could have been if he didn’t get injured or not have that disease but even after the injury he won Brazil’s 5th World Cup
Then he would be the best Ronaldo in football history
@@rakshitmarwah9976 he already is.
@@adstaxman7877 ahahahahahah
@@rakshitmarwah9976 Nice joke
@@rakshitmarwah9976 he is mate. :) cr is a good player but r9 was better, way better. and i am not saying it, most of the legends in football say it. :)
3:59 that photo had me dying
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂
Lollolokok
Now I’m here after Erickson almost died
*He died (he just woke up thankfully)
@@jasperdesmarethrieck3836 yeah, even though I’m not a Denmark or inter Milan supporter I want him to recover 100 percent
😔😔
He used to be my fav player for tottenham
Same
I still remember that David Busst leg break, that was truly gruesome.
Disgusting
When a dane vomits by the looks of it then its really bad..
IIt wasn't the worst, theere was another guy whose leg was put permanently to look the other way
Van Basten, Ronaldo, Torres, so sad... Such great footballers...
Reneldo too I forgot his spelling help me.
Eduardo Da Silva, he was on fire in Arsenal on his way to be one of the best strikers at that time and then came that terrible injury.... Never been the same after it :/
Battiston's injuries sustained from the Schumacher challenge in the 82 world cup have to be the worst. I watched it live and the ref didn't even award a free kick.
the fact that most of them still played football
No Messi nor Christiano would have been even close to Ronaldo's carrer if he didnt get any of his knee injuries.
Ronaldo was the best player up until his injury, unstoppable force and sense for goal like if they was the air he breathe.
There is only one Ronaldo, never will be another like him.
if...
Nah bro Messi and Ronaldo would've still surpassed him
@@blackboywiththesauce2359 probably but R9 would dominate his era completely
@@liquid_brew2110 but R9 was only goals not really a creator.....like Assist or beautiful passes he was only a lethal killer
R9 was only dribble and Goals, Cristiano and Messi are far far more than that
Now it’s confirmed Halaand will never go ManU
United can’t afford him and United nearly got him just the transfer window closed before he went to Dortmund
@@abdulmehmood7438 United can afford him, however we allready have cavani for the next year so i assume we will go for either Sanco or CB/CDMS, allthough we got Van beek however he gets so little playingtime. we need CB or CDMS.
yea ik 😥😥
@@marcuspoosz2190 u can't afford Sancho either u offered 90 mln and we want at least 100
Ole is his first coach
There were also two French players with horrifying injuries : Yuri Djorkaeff and Djibril Cissé
Torres injury caused him to decline as a deadly striker tbf
6es
Yeh same with kaka
In Belgium we had Luc Nilis who played next to Van Nistelrooij at PSV before he went to Aston Villa where he never recovered from a open leg fracture.
he was one of favorite players
Hows Roberto Baggio not mentioned on this? His 1st knee injury almost ended his career at 18 years old! Can you imagine him never getting past that and never seeing how good he was. How much better could he have been without those injuries he had several ops
The injuries didn't quite ended or ruined his career entirely, they just made it worse, so I think this is not like this other examples like Diaby or Van Basten
Michael Owen and ronaldo were pace merchants 😂 once those legs went they were no where near the same.
If r9 wasn’t injured he would 100% be the GOAT
He is 100% a goat
@@loyal_prince9040 yes a goat but not THE goat
@@kfrvrggrktfdd523 messi ronaldo r9 ronaldinho maradona and pele are goats
R9 best striker all-time. Stop being everyone jokes.
Better than the fake Portugal Ronaldo and that Argentinian fraud
Eduardo😢
Awesome! 🙌
Ha ha ha arsenal suck
hi
@@user-hc3qv3ie1c hahaha don't bully arsenal
@@brawlstarsgrinderclashpro3912 losers stay losers
@@user-hc3qv3ie1c are Liverpool losers
All of the players, I felt the worse for Abou Diaby. For me, he could have been the greatest midfielder in Arsenal history.
I used to think that he will be a great replacement for Viera
Agreed
So the video title that says injuries that ended football careers
Then goes into players who got injured and carried on playing
Well they lead to the end of the careers, and without the injury, they probably wouldn’t have retired so early, so I guess that’s what he meant by the title
They may have carried on playing but the injuries eventually ended their careers, it’s not rocket science
Wonderful video, deserves more views
Ronaldo and Owen were true Super World-Class players before the injuries came along but were still good enough to have built the amazing legacies they both have , makes a top 5 Greatest of All Time list almost impossible to put together in my opinion
You scrub compare R9 with Owen? If you don’t have any clue just stfu.
Ronaldo was still unstoppable after injuries thyroid got him bad but he was still class
Good to see someone respecting Owen who was one of the best players in the world from 17-25
Where is Eduardo Da Silva??
I'd like to add Pedro Mantorras. He started his professional carreer in Alverca, before moving to Benfica. But knee injuries kept him off the fields for a long time. He did come back, and did score important goals, but was never as good as before.

I was reminded of Michael Ballack while watching this. If I remember correctly he was injured right before the world cup in 2010 so he couldn't play for the German national team and got replaced by Müller (who played an amazing tournament). I feel like after that people just sort of forgot about him and he could never reclaim his spot in the team. I don't know what his career was like with clubs but i never heard about him again. The injury maybe wasn't career ending from a medical stand point but the timing was terrible.
Well from what I know after WC 2010, Ballack did try to get back to national team but Löw decided to keep the cores from WC 2010, which would become the team that won WC 2014. Ballack was kinda old at that point and tbf Germany played better without him, Germany before 2010 depended too much on Ballack and sadly because of his bad luck, he never could lead the team to any title :(
yes brother
i still remember micheal ballack vs fernando torres in final german vs spain .. and im loosing my voice for three days after that live stream xD ..
I’m From cov and love the vid
4:07 If Ronaldo (R9) didnt do his Knee , he would be the greatest ever , no question , he was near unplayable before hand.
Ryan Mason,Eduardo da Silva?
Welcome back
Gotta do another one of these. Ever see the Steve Zakauani leg break?
No Eduardo da Silva of arsenal
What about arsenals Edoardo
Eduardo Da Silva
I personally think that neymar would've been the world best player if his back wasn't broke. Before his back was broken he was undisputed now he's not even half as skill as before...
Bust bust his leg lol
Great vid
Thank you for not perpetuating the embarrassing myth (and infact calling it out as such) that Keane ended Haalands career. It’s often used by lazy journalists who can’t do research
Keane himself said he set out to do that though.
He did, set out to do injury he never played full matches ever again because of that tackle it might not have been the sole reason but it sped it up
@@Mayaman67 set out to hurt him, yes. End his career, no. And he didn’t.
@@mynamestwi no. Wrong knee.
and they say football is not a contact sport and it is not physical and no one ever gets hurt
I only disagree with Ronaldo, the guy changed his game, but was still a prolific striker, starting 11 wherever he went; he had countless injuries but stayed at a good level. Didn't end his career.
To think r9 have a career ending injury then when he returns he still won the ballon dor and world cup, think about one of the best comebacks
Thats why R9 got that glorious haircut
all credit to united with the busst injury..they sent a full strength team down to coventry for a benefit game and players like paul gasgoine showed up.....busst went up for the corner and was unconcious..his first words were 'did i score?'
You forgot Eduardo da Silva
Eduardo da Silva? Brazilian Croatian played for Arsenal no? Ok...

In other words. Never go to AC Milan. Everyone who goes there gets injured 😂
or united... Falcao, Sanchez etc
Yes😂😂
YEP
No
@My dick is incredibly tiny and I'm an idiot , but Falcao went from probably the best ST in the world to a huge flop, it took him 3 years to get back to his normal self and by then he was turning 30
Imagine player like Ronaldo, Baggio, Del Piero and Totti without serious injury.
I have actually seen a worse break than Busst's. I'll freely admit I lost my lunch that day too. The guy in question still walks with a cane even now, 30 plus years on...
Wouldn’t you think Andre Gomes would be on here
Has he returned to the pitch?
Wow Boncelona seems pretty good
What about Eduardo Da Silva?
2:21 the guy to the right of gullit looks like callux from sidemen
You didn't mention Kaka
Aguero Retirement .. heart breaking momment 💔
We can all agree that play for AC Milan is barely a death sentence for players’ carreers
Does anyone remember Chris Stringer?
My dad's favorite was Van Basten. Now I know why, Van was a Beast 😍
Van is not his actual last name, in the Netherlands they use word 'van' 'de' and 'van de' which means 'van=of, de=the, van de=of the.' So basically his name is Marco of Basten. The more you know.
@@LucaDavoli_ well here in Asia back in that time people knew him as Van Basten.. don't ask me why cause I have no idea myself 😅
@@Jiishaan Yea, that is is last name. However you originally referred to him as 'Van', so I wanted to explain what the Van in his name means for absolutely no reason hahaha. Shoutout to your dad for recognizing a Dutch legend, though!
@@LucaDavoli_ no it's alright. I just wanted to let you know that why I used Van 😅 anyways yeah I am born in a huge football freak family. So yeah my Dad, my uncles and my grandfather knows many great legends from Europe, especially from Serie A since it was the best and toughest league back then.
@@Jiishaan As an Italian I am happy to hear the Serie A popularity reach so far!

What about luke nilliss from West ham/Aston villa?
I couldnt see the guy's leg at @ 09:29 thinking he got it eventually amputated in the end 😬😬😬 lol
1:12 I never knew that... So kean took the blame and yet it was he's left knee
man u fan
2:30 Holland doesn’t exist, it is the Netherlands 🇳🇱
Actually, Holland is not the Netherlands as you put it. Holland is just a part of the Netherlands. Therefore, Netherlands and Holland are not the same and the names are not interchangeable.
Ah yes, Donkey Kongs brother. Oliver Kong 8:05
Sebastian Deisler 👌🏾
Ryan mason?
imagine ronaldo with bielsa's knees
alfie’s other knee ended his career. Not the one keane tackled.
Wilshere and Diaby were football tragedies
MY BRAIN : DONT WATCH ME:CLICKS
Surprised he still has a leg bust
Ah, Roy Keane. Now there is a player. Remember that Haaland.
0:20 when u say WC winners, u mean Samuel Umtiti with that pic
Celtics gk literally died from an injury he sustained in a match so I'd say that is a fair bit worse.
Ye it was when he dived into get the ball he hit his head off of sam englishs leg
That’s death though not an injury

@@alberto6169 he died from the INJURY he sustained, sooooo
How can you have Owen, but not state his ACL injury playing for England in 2006?
The scariest injury was that Smith was kicked in the leg by Riise until his career was destroyed because of his own actions being desperate to hold Riise's kick.
Eduardo da Silva 🇭🇷😢😭
..... I’m speech less
“Owen played for Real Madrid and Manchester United after leaving Liverpool”…missing a crucial step there. The lack of recognition will be remembered when the inevitable bribes are being handed out…
Huh
Jack Wilshere's careers not over.
0:19, unexpected aguero's retirement
I'm scared I've got a bad ankle for a long time
Eduardo
Ryan mason
What's with Eward lienen?
The same can happen with Ansu Fati because his injury in such a young age
Ansu Fati who? Ah that convinced poor little boy who is down to earth now. No one cares about what happen to fati hmmkay
@@Iggz1983 you aren't any better m8 calm down xD
I think that Aaron Ramsey deserves a spot on this list
His leg just shattered on the field due to a harsh tackle
He improved after that injury lool if you talking about the one against stoke. He was crap before that and when he came back he turned into the great player he was
Diaby was gonna be one of the greatest but injury damn man
Interesting that most athletes who fly to US to get surgeries, never recover again....would it be the combo of best technology with worst "hands"?!
The majority of these didn't even end their careers, nearly all of them carried on playing after injures
Di matteo again St gallan was horrific
What about Roberto Baggio?
Now Aguero retired 😭
Who can agree that David Bussts leg looked like there was know blood at the bottom of his leg
carlos puyol should be in the list
