+Eld Ritch If ever someone defined sell out and cash in, it was Courtney, although she failed at it spectacularly. Bottom line is, the body of work by Brody and its quality completely eclipses Courtney's by a long mile. Not only that, but Brody had the guts and confidence to do more with what she had, and has stayed true to herself. Where is Courtney now? What has she done worthy of note lately? These comparisons are lame, predictable, and really just underscore the inability of those making them to know better.

I can say in my defense the last 13yrs I was living my own fast life & running my own business. I play music & have alot of musican friends,it went right over my head. LOVE her voice. She made the Distillers with that incredible voice. I think this is her best stuff since then. Spinnerette was good but didn't show off her vocals as much.

Spinnerette's more of Brody's side project that she wanted to work on but wasn't Distillers level to warrant being released through the band. Tony's one hell of a friend to help her out regardless of what music she wanted to put out.

@@Bryman5000: Punk has mophed into too many subgenres & you have a valid point about runway punk. You can tell what's manufactured & what's closer to the earlier core sound & attitude. Most of the stuff I like is from the early 🇬🇧 Punk rock era. There was some grat stuff afterwards but it doesn't quite have the same vibe.

As people get older they mature, as does their music and tastes. I really like this album, it sounds different and the variation between songs is refreshing.
And not to mention, this is Brody's personal take. She's not exactly thinking in a Distillers perspective for the project. Don't really see how she should always sound like she's singing for the band every single time.

The Distillers stuff is pretty damn killer as well. Amazed this woman is more well known, but then again mainstream is pretty weak these days. Just stellar work here worth more than a mere comment.
