I know Andrea is hyperactive and ignorant, but the coaching here is also pretty trash. Correcting terminology that was used correctly more than once and antagonizing the student are two major red flags. Frame the video around Andrea if that's easier to you, but maybe Naroditsky and Hammer could coach you on coaching before you try this again.
They're content creator, they're suppose to create drama, and/or find ways to make the content entertaining and engaging, while at the same time making it pg. Andrea in real life is a better student and Dina is a better coach.
They are streaming ! It's for content, having FUN. Maybe you don't know what that is.
They are laughing and enjoying themselves. If you want something DULL, BORING 💤 💤 Then hop over to that creep GOTHAM LEVY ROSIE 🌹
@@huntermach7356 Exactly Hunter !
You're more polite than me. Love how it's pinned by Dina.
What is with some of these serious comments. No sense of humour or understanding of what is involved in their channels.
dina not into coaching, this is a one-off series to give content... its quite funny
@huntermach7356, whether or not content is engaging, depends on the audience. Some people enjoy content like this, while others enjoy content in which productivity and learning are the main points of focus.
Being tutored by Dina has major step on me vibes.
Andrea has a lot of sympathy for isolated pawns because she realizes how hard it is when your sister goes off to college and leaves you with _nobody to play with!_ That someone might choose that situation voluntarily is not something she wants to think about.
I love your dynamic, we need more Dina and Andrea collabs!!
Dina is such a troll and I love it.
“Capablanca played Kasparov!” is the best thing I’ve heard from a seasoned chess player in a long time. Couldn’t stop laughing.
Andrea has reached so far with her good looks. I sometimes hope she's playing dumb on purpose because of how smart Alex is. 😂😂😂
More coach videos like this, please. Love it.
Well done Dina, this is the kind of content I would love from you. You have so much chess wisdom. Although collab is fun, I would expect you to do this kind of position by yourself or with your chat.
You two are very different, but it's really quite touching to see how you interact.
Dina and Andrea are amazing together ❤ . Pls keep posting these lessons!!!
in bed maybe...😎
Loved the video. Looking forward to more like this. Also, apparently I didn't know the correct definition of an isolated pawn.
Thanks.
When you can see Andrea is wild chaotic and a loud character and those might not be incompatible with you but you cannot stop loving her and want to protect her.
Dina your English got ALOT better. You have improved so much. Grats.
There’s a fine line between educational and entertaining. Great video :)
Very entertaining! Dina the coach and Andrea the student are hilarious with their different personalities. I can tell that both of them are really taking this seriously, too. Keep it going!
When your tutor says "Forget about everything you just said" you should start to get an idea you might not have got the answer spot on 😂
This is a really good analysis. Keep it going.
For the people griping about semantics and terminology, you can't *hope* to coach, (or *be* coached) unless definitions can be agreed upon.
Dina is a mum-cat trying to teach her recalcitrant kitten how to hunt mice...
🤣"Forget about computer, computer is trash, ok? It's like even Hans Nieman is better than computer."
This was the 25th game of the 1927 championship match between Capablanca and Alekhine. The move actually played by Alekhine was Bg4, and Dina gives a nice explanation of the ideas in the position. Capablanca then maneuvered his knight to c5, and an interesting nuance is that Alekhine played the not-so-obvious move Rc7 both to protect the pawn on b7 and also so that after the trade of bishops on g6 Black's queen is not stuck defending both the knight on d7 and the pawn on g6.
Dina is an excellent teacher, and this was a great choice of a game to analyze. Alekhine, at the time leading by two games in the match, managed to draw this game en route to winning the world championship.
When is Dina going to recap the last world champion game???
They were both world champions.
Can we have a list of all the different Pawn Structures please? Would be helpful.
Capablanca was besties with Kasparov they used to play friendly chess matches on his private island 🤣
You are a pretty good teacher. Very knowledgeable. I have misunderstood the term isolated pawn until today. Or well I was taught wrong by ... whichever person I learned it from. Thank you for clearing that up for me.
Andrea is definitely a personality hire
hahaha respect for the patience!
Wow!
Brilliant!!
At last, we heard something about real chess. I wish more grandmasters would do this.
The problem is Dina keeps talking about isolated poons, not even Magnus knows what those are.
I love the way you say "pawns".
amazing!
1:17 I thought she said Capablanca played Castro 😆
Today I learned that Alekhine played Kasparov :D
But in all honesty...Andrea's whole repertoire of 'content' is basically around chess so I would assume she knew atleast the basics...Meaning who have been world champions and atleast roughly when.
It's basic commong knowledge that Steinitz was the first champion who was then followed by Lasker, Capablanca and then Alekhine.
Ummm...Am I wrong?...An isolated pawn is one with no like pawns on either adjacent like file whether it can move forward or not...She was referencing a backward pawn, correct?
It's not fair to ask them as far back as that. They won't know anybody before Kasparov.
I think you got it wrong. According to wikipedia, an isolated pawn is a pawn that has no friendly pawn on an adjacent file. That is all. It doesnt say "isolated pawn is the one that is on the open file and it cannot move forward because there is opponent pawn", whatever that means. 🤔
internet rule number 1:Don't trust wikipedia
@@andrerodrigues2877 Oh really? And what source i should trust?
I think the main difference we should understand from what dina said was that even tho you could technically call both an isolated pawn, one of them is actually easier to attack and to win. And there's where the difference between an isolated pawn and an isolated pawn on an open/semi open file is important.
I think maybe the cognate Russian term has Dina's meaning. In the US, a pawn can be isolated and passed - be two things at the same time, as Dina puts it.
@@arrowofkira5658 Yes, but isolated pawn on an open file is also something that wikipedia disagree with. It says "An open file in chess is a file with NO PAWNS of either color on it." Obviously, there cannot be an isolated pawn on file with no pawns on it.
As for semi open-file, that is defined as a file with pawns of only one color. Dina's sentence "isolated pawn is the one that is on the open (or semi-open) file and it cannot move forward because THERE IS OPPONENT´S pawn" doesnt make sense either, because one color literally means there is NO opponent´s pawn on that file.
Отличный контент, видно что ты стараешься и умеешь это делать. Молодец )
Также совет и пища для размышления: если бы ты позвала в видео ещё одного хоть кого, то контента стало ещё больше на 1/3.
And yes Andrea is correct on naming, as we use the same name for them all, and differ a good one from a bad one with add that exact adjective to it "strong/weak" "good/bad" while Dina's chess-school seem to prefer to differ a good version against a bad one directly in the name. Maybe as just an example she would like a name such as "two bishops" when it closed position or they just not good & "bishop pair" when it a good thing to have them.
Okay WGM Jenny Karen
@@davidcarr9772 ??? Go talk with your manager ☺
I love to see Dina laugh
OMG, how, please tell me how it’s possible to think that Casablanca can play with Kasparov?
"Kasporv, Karpov. Potatoes, patatoes" lol
For you coaching her might be a nightmare but for us we’ve got our popcorn 🍿 out having a party and laughing it up knowing she forgot her A.D.D. Meds 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 you’re great friend to her Dina 😂😂😂😂😊😊
To be fair, all Chess WC:s have names that start with "K", it's easy to mix them up.
Dina has that cold stare that could melt you down completely, which doesnt make sense at all.
jokes aside, i learnt a lot of new things.
Andrea is like the best at selling content. That girl has a PhD in Marketing I swear
Dina your patience is incredible, i would had stop trying to teach her, so annoying, lol.
Lettuce look at this position...
Aww, you guys are adorable! 😄❤️
I want to do one to one coaching with you Dina
/ pawns = pawn chain... - pawns = Phalanx (pawn phalanx)
I get why Hammer said he would love to coach Dina. He said that at the Rejkavic tournament when Dina was crushing the GM s
I think it would make good content too.
Hammer just thirsty bro
@@locoghoul 😂👍
Isn't g6 followed by Bf5 faster? The only problem is Kh4 directly after g6. Thing is that he can do the same with this Bg4, Bh5, Bg6 idea..... if white goes Kh4 in first two moves he threatens to exchange with Kxg6 and wins the f7 pawn in the process. Oh but g5 after Kh4, Kf5, Qe6, Kg3 and still Bg6. You really calculate both options in a matter of seconds? Amazing.
Isolated pawn: In chess, an isolated pawn is a pawn that has no friendly pawn on an adjacent file. How can Dina be so confident, be a GM, and not know chess terms?
Of course it is a passed pawn but Andrea is right, it is an isolated pawn.
Thought you we’re fighting w the Botez sisters?
It's obvious that Dina learned her chess at the Russian School of Hard Knocks.
Cant believe, I'm still, ambitious for this. Im like, probably, the most understanding person. Not again .
Dina is the first woman for whom I feel sadomasochistic emotions 😂❤
this was hilarious but also so helpful. i can't count how many minority attack videos i've seen and still haven't been able to execute one properly. i almost always end up (badly) pushing the centre pawns like andrea wanted to in order to get to the backwards pawn, and then i wonder where it went wrong. not a single book or video mentioned leaving the rest of the pawn structure alone. it's so obvious when you point it out, thank you!
Dina I luv your accent.
Never mind, Andreea... I'm sure Kasparov would have loved to play against Capablanca 🙂:-)
“Can I go pee?” Hahaha 🤣
Love your video❤ I can edit for you
They actually ARE hanging pawns.. two pawns side by side isolated. But I see the confusion since hanging pawns also means to leave a pawn unprotected and vulnerable to capture.
Oh you know more than Dina do you ! Maybe you learned from someone who is not very knowledgable
@@davidcarr9772 Here's a random video by GM Alex Lenderman

That's not where I learned the term. Probably Fred Renfield or an old Alekhine book. A simple google search would have served you better.
This Canadian sadly agrees.
Magus would coach her I bet
Andrea thinks Kappablanca is a Mario Bros character.
Botez: i know them
Dina: who are they?😅😂
🤣🤣🤣
Lol, the moment she said "I know them", I knew she had no clue. It's like a student of politics saying "Oh yes, Obama. I know him. He was a president."
"Capablanca played Kasparov" never change Andrea😂
It was just a slip of the tongue. She corrected herself. Of course, Capablanca played Karpov. 😅
I almost subscribed. Almost
Dina, I'm gonna be honest... you look good.
Andrea, I'm not gonna bullshit you I don't remember our lessons.
Respect.
Just realised how Alekhin is pronounced in America :D
Glad to hear that Andrea is keeping quiet on politics.
Andrea is a very good looking young women
haha. LOL at 16:21 I would give up.
The worst student is correct. No lies told there. lol
Even though Andrea was slow at learning the concepts, she was correct in saying that the b pawn is an isolated pawn. Any pawn that does not have adjacent pawns is technically an isolated pawn. It is also a passed pawn. The terms are not mutually exclusive.
Okay Einstien
Dina do you do online lessons?
😆
You can see the sympathy between you beautiful girls. In addition, Andrea respects Dina as another older sister! 🥰But instead of playing with pillows with you, he punches you with boxing gloves! It's not fair !💖💛💙 🏵🌹💐
Did Hans jilt someone
Don’t worry, even Annie Sullivan had a difficult time, although, you seem to have a more of a challenge😂😂.
I wonder if Russian chess terminology is different from American chess terminology?
It wouldn’t make you an isolated woman, lol
First Dina says that b7 pawn is not an isolated pawn, since it can move forward, and you can only call a pawn isolated when it cannot move. Then she calls d4 and c6 pawns, both of which can move forward, isolated. I'm quite confused...
I think she meant that it‘s a pawn island. The part abt the minority attack, was not wrong, right?
The ADHD is strong with this one.
"Isolated pawn" must be defined differentlyl in Russia as I learned the same definition as Andrea.
'Differently' must be spelled differently where you come from. In the UK it's as I spelled it.
Yawn!
@@davidcarr9772 My vision impairment makes it easy to miss typos.
I am tall and dark, and also handsome. Or at least I identify as such. (you have to watch to get the context)
Why not push pawn to g-2 then bring bishop in and force trade?
You'll have a double isolated pawn and your king is exposed.
I assume you mean black pushing the pawn to g6 and then Bf5, but after Bxf5 by white and gxf5 by black, Qxf5 wins a pawn, and the queen's pressure on the weak pawns and the weak king is very hard to defend. If the bishop can come to g6 then Bxg6 by white is followed by Qxg6 Qxg6 fxg6, or just fxg6 without the queen trade, and the pawns and the king are all safe.
You Amateur, Dina and Andrea not!
@@davidcarr9772 🤣🤣🤣
*That was one of the Books, I also saw her reading a chess book called, "How To Play Advance Chess for DUMMIES".* 🤔
Andrea was right. Isolated ONLY means there are no friendly adjacent pawns. Dina is really confusing things.
No she's not, it's you that's confused sweetheart
You can check with any chess resource.

Ok botez is black?
Here you can feel the harm boxing can produce (a certain Karl... the one who was bad) 😞
i guess this is just for content. also, i'm glad dina decided to be a professional chess player and not a teacher...
Aauuugh!
Dina has the patience of a Saint lol
Lol, Andrea uses all the right expressions, but Dina tells her she uses them wrong. That's bad teaching
@@eljanrimsa5843 Are you a coach or professional player? Dina is doing great, maybe you can't get her accent. I can and it's not bad teaching, Hammer has the same, wanting to bang your head against a brick wall teaching Andrea. I'm amazed she's reached the level she has.
Alex has the ability to be higher and Dina in my humble opinion hasn't reached her peak. She could be a GM and not a WGM if she clears her schedule.
Dina is so underrated !
