Plaice Fishing - Hints,Tips and a Special Guest!

- Sea fishing for Plaice can be a hit or miss affair and today in Eastbourne is no Exception.I'm joined on the Beach by John Locker from @TheFishLocker and @thefishlockerworkshop He gives us some invaluable tips Including unhooking flatfish . Many thanks also to Chris from @SEAFISHINGwithCJ
The Plaice have spawned and are looking to feed up. Recent catches were good and this has a lot to do with favourable Northerly winds. This not only makes casting easier here on the South coast But also ensures the water clears. As you can see, conditions were not to our advantage but i wasn't going to let this spoil the day.

I too have been watching you three independently, great to see all together with good tips. I have something for your water changes - if you drill some holes say 6mm size, too small for worms to pass through in the top inch or so of the bucket, with the lid on you can pour the old water away, yet retain worms. Then replenish water with worms inside.

I watch both John and CJs channels both top lads. Ive learnt alot from watching all of your channels. Being from Birmingham i had no clue about fishing now i try and take a trip once a month in my campervan i built. Thanks 👍🏻
I’m sure they appreciate that . Sounds like a real adventure when you go fishing. In many ways you have a choice of coasts from Birmingham - I know I’d be heading to North wales 🏴 if I was you.
@@SaltwaterAngler plan is to try the whole coast around england wales and scotland. So far ive done most of the south coast. Seem to keep heading to dorset i cant get enough of the place. North wales this summer hopefully get a few bass 🤞🏻

What class rods are you using?? I have a love ❤ hate relationship with plaice as I've rigged up baited cast out for a beginner friend and after 20 minutes no bites I said reel in and a 2lb plaice had munched the lug and just not moved then my rod doubles over I reel in a plaice half the size and it dropped off as I was swinging it over the pier rails, I've pursued them since with no joy, I've told John from fish locker this story lol, didn't realise he was joining you. I love his channel.

If you are going to keep a fish knock it on the head straight away. Keep a priest in your bag as game anglers do. Sea fisherman, of which I am one, have a habit of leaving a fish to die.
Sort of , often I’ll try and release a fish but if that’s not possible yes quickly despatched. On this occasion tricky to unhook a deep swallowed hook.
Stop slaughtering tiny fish!! Can’t believe you killed that tiny plaice!
It's legal and for the table why so angry?, taking larger plaice of spawning age is far worse for fish populations,

Only recently became aware of baiting needles 🪡 I can definitely see the benefits during a match getting rigs prepared before every cast.
Yea I used to use them but I’m more of a put hundreds of worm on for bass type of guy ! Thanks Robbie we shall move forward with our needles
