My favorite part of watching Dan are all the times he makes himself laugh- specifically when he covers a disney song 😂
Dan is such a character, and that is one of the many reasons why he remains my favorite CZcamsr.
The creativity and design brought into the design of each Gingerbread house is insane and awesome to see.
What I admire most is how much self control the chefs who bake and assemble the gingerbread house’s every year. If I was a chef,
I would devour the gingerbread house whole 🤣
I don't like Gingerbread, but Gingerbread Houses are cool.
Also that Hansel and Gretel special looks scary.
I've seen that Hansel and Gretel. It's disturbing in ALL the wrong ways.
@@mightyfilm You think that's disturbing, you should read the Brothers Grimm version.
@@Fire-Wolf-The-Wolgan No. That's disturbing in the right ways to be disturbing. The Tim Burton one is just all sorts of unpleasant and wrong. The Mr. Rogers-esque piano score, the bright white background looking like an empty void. The Gingerbread Man singing part Rod Stewart's "Do You Think I'm Sexy" to a child. The "inspired by Japanese culture" concept being just hiring Asian actors. The low budget in the whole presentation that makes it look like a kid friendly snuff film, especially with the Gingerbread Man. There's a reason Disney didn't like to talk about it and it was lost for decades.
I watched that Tim Burton Hansel and Gretel recently and just laughed out loud at how nightmarish that gingerbread man is. I love it.
They should get Tim Burton to design a gingerbread house one year. Bet he would come up with something really wild.
It would be the return of Dan-Dan, wouldn’t it?
Disney Parks: Combines food art with the Tim Burton style and intricate rigging
Me, a lover of food and Burtonesque art: *heavy breathing noises*
Not even 15 seconds in and we get Dan-Dan the Gingerbread Man? *Excellent!*
My 3 favorite things Black, Spoopy drawings, and gingerbread!
Dan Dan the Gingerbread Man will now be in my nightmares right next to all the original designs of disney costume characters like Mickey and Minnie.
haha the “chokey” man, it’s an Iron maiden!
man this brought back memories! my family went to disneyland for christmas in 2011 and we got to see that gingerbread house. i was in the height of my nightmare before christmas phase, so i remember being in absolute awe as we rode a couple of times. by far one of the best holidays my family has had
Disney princess animatronics evolution?
I second this motion.
Dan: what are people who are afraid of bugs called?
Kenny: *proudly* cowards
ok that got a laugh out of me XD
I feel like we are so blessed to be getting more Kenny cameos 😂 y’all have such wholesome interactions
My very first time seeing Haunted Mansion Holiday was in 2019, because my friends bought me Disneyland tickets as a going away present. I was moving back to the East Coast and they wanted me to have a good experience before I left. That 50th anniversary Gingerbread house wowed me so much I felt such absolute joy in my heart. It's something I'll never forget, not ever.
I like how in the 2021 gingerbread house, there's the XX in the mouth of the killer wreath (wreath wraith??) because XX is the roman numeral for 20, and it's the 20th house, but also year 2020 just got EXED out, so it's like, 'yeah we didn't have a 2020 20th house, but we still put sort of a reference to the fact that we don't.' lol.
That’s DEEP! 😎
While I don’t like spiders OR gingerbread, I have to go with the floating house as my favorite!! There’s something just so cool yet so simple about having the spider slightly wiggle it around :)
And great video as always!! ❤️
A few months ago I watched this Disney special about how they transform the park for Christmas and the haunted mansion part was the coolest! While I don’t personally like the overlay (nightmare, while being completely up my ally, has never been a favorite of mine) I always enjoy it from a work perspective as the amount of work that goes into it is just so impressive!
One of the cast members has been like somewhat in charge of the houses since day one and every year he puts a little Easter egg on it for his daughter (I believe it’s a hidden Mickey but it’s been a couple months since I saw the special so I’m not positive).
FINALLY I MEET SOMEONE ELSE WHO KNOWS WHAT A SPICED NIGHTMARE FUEL DAN DAN IS.
2016 was the only time I ever got to visit Disneyland and Haunted Mansion Holiday was a major highlight of the trip. That house holds a sentimental value as the only one I've seen in person
Say, with what you mentioned about all the "Ginger-Dead Houses" having strange angles and nothing is even, it made me think about the first lyrics of "What Else Can I Do?" from "Encanto":
"I just made something unexpected,
Something sharp, something new,
It's not symmetrical, or perfect, but it's beautiful, and it's mine,
What else can I do?"
11:06 Shots WELL fired! Well done, Dan!
The 2019 gingerbread house is my favorite, it's so STUNNING!
My favorite gingerbread house is in the middle of the thumbnail. Something about it is just so dark and creative, I love it!
The new gingerbread house for 2022 is Lock, Shock, and Barrel pranking the guests at the dinning room table by pushing and pulling cake away from them.
Love this video, not only do I love Tim Burton I did didn't expect RuPaul's Drag Race and Thwoorping.
The gingerbread house is always so cool every year
Originally, The Nightmare Before Christmas wasn’t supposed to be a stop motion animated movie, but was pitched by Tim Burton as a traditionally animated movie to Disney executives at the animation studio in Burbank, California.
The 2006 and 2007 houses are my favorites
Someday I want to see the gingerbread house in the mansion in real life, but for now there's youtube ride throughs
I love This Ginger Bread Haunted Mansion House 😍😍😍
"Cowards" fight me Kenny, fight me.in the Dennys parking lot
and after the holidays are over, the gingerbread house becomes food for the bumblebees.
I did some digging and I found out that after the holidays are over and when they take apart the gingerbread house, instead of throwing it away, they give it to the bumblebees.
They should start selling portions made with the same recipe near HMH every year if they don’t already. I’ve never had a piece of this cake and I’ve always wanted one!!! 💔
Dans reaction too when his friend said Cowards 😂
Wow all of them took a lot of time and work. Thank You for sharing. Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday whatever you celebrate and Happy New Year to all that watch, comment and chat.
The first time I went to Disneyland in California during the Halloween holiday season was in 2014, which was this gingerbread house in the shape of the Iron Maiden with a gingerbread zombie in it.
My fav gingerbread house is the 2007 that just looks so amazing but they all look amazing
I haven't been able to make my way to Disneyland since they started doing this, and I would love to go one year just to see these ginger bread houses!! The whole overlay is so cool and I hope to see it in person one year.
6:51 it’s so funny when the gingerbread fell
After watching almost all of your videos, I am finally pulling the trigger on Magic Candle Company. I’m glad they continue to sponsor you, and I think it’s about time I checked them out!
I’ve only been to Disneyland once during a summer, so I’ve never seen any of the gingerbread houses in person. I’m blown away by pics I see every year though. Disneyland and WDW know how to make gingerbread masterpieces. I think of these, my favorite is the advent calendar one.
I’ve been to Disneyland at Christmas twice now (in 2018, which was wild since it wasn’t long after they shut down) and then actively right now. The gingerbread house in 2018 was crazy cool, but the one this year is ON A DIFFERENT LEVEL. I mean, it is massive and imposing and awesome. That being said, the first few are super cool because the art is so entirely unique. The evolution was cool.
EVOLUTION OF GODZILLA!!!
Happy holidays to everyone here
Dan ur creativity is sooo good my friend have a merry christmas buddyy
idea for the next house, maybe a house that has bat wings and it looks like its flying around over the table, little gingerbread cookie bats fluttering around.
I love the haunted mansion holiday even though I’ve never been to Disneyland.
Thanks for sharing this its so much a fun way to get into the holiday season! you rock!
I wish they had this overlay at Disney World! That would be so cool!
I hate to say this, but Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom version of The Haunted Mansion has no Holiday Overlay whatsoever. Only Disneyland California and Tokyo Disneyland have a Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay.
Saw the title/topic and thought about watching it tomorrow. But then saw it was Dan (and Kenny!). So let's watch immediately.
The fan!!!! Daddy yesssss
Yup...that Hansel and Gretel special is going to haunt me for a good while
You rock Disney Dan!
Disney Dan: "It's like a giant mimic house!"
Me: "Oh, he plays D&D too, that's so cool."
Dan: "What's a mimic?"
Me: "... never mind."
I hope the cast got to eat all of that when they were done using it lol
The Nightmare Before Christmas has the songs written by Danny Elfman in the style of an opera or operetta instead of a traditional Disney animated musical.
There Creative and Look good enough to eat😋🖤💀.
i remember u talking about planning this video on the Foolish Mortals podcast & I've been excited to see it since then!! 🥰
I never realized it was actual gingerbread or that it changed before!
Every time I see that Tim Burton Hansel and Gretel Gingerbread Man, I have to agree with that kid. It has to be disgusting because it looks like it's absolutely covered in fondant. Like, unflavored, still soft, Silly Putty tasting fondant. The Shrek Gingerbread Man looks absolutely delicious, but that one looks like the puppet would taste better than a real version of it. Yecccch!
Have you seen the whole movie? It basically killed my sweet tooth forever lol
@@CinnamonGrrlErin1 Doesn't help that the Gingerbread Man sounds like a pervert. I know every artist/director has to start somewhere and they learn what works along the way but...JEEEEEEEZZZ! Everything in that film clashed, nothing felt like it was supposed to go together and it comes off eerie for being so oddly put together, and not macabre like his other works.
Happy holidays guys!
4:16 they even have a gingerbread second line band
I believe the torture device you were googling is called an iron maiden.
The tourture device you were thinking of is an iron maiden (not the band but their namesake).
I absolutely love the gingerbread houses but in the back of my mind I kind of hate that they use real gingerbread because some of those houses look so good and I just want to take a big bite out of them! 😆
That's a lot of Gingerbread
Breaking news. There has been a break in at Disneyland. A large man has been seen in the Haunted mansion, eating the gingerbread and laughing to himself.
Imagine getting to eat these things, and the amount of time, effort, and frustration of having to re-ice the houses.
I would hate to be one of the Imagineers or gingerbread construction workers that added something to ballroom overlay and the whole thing crumbles right in front of you! I think that I would run like the wind and yell, "Just mail me my check!"🤣😂Merry Christmas and happy holidays of 2021, Disney Dan! 🎄🎁
This is unique well because 1. It’s not a character distory and 2. It’s food so that is very interesting I’m not particularly into it but I’m fine with another video like this also, Merry Christmas.
I bet the staff have a great feast after the holidays
Yum cards...
Amazing Gingerbread houses
In the monster house the tentacles coming out of it look like the sand worm from Beetle Juice and it took until Beetle Juice came up in the story for me to remember "oh right, there's a reason for that..."
When i went on the ride my family think they're aren't real cookies but i know their real because i saw them making it
i can't believe that hansel and gretal special was on the disney channel, wow
I hate that we don't get a year round nightmare before Christmas dark ride when things like marvel, star wars ect has loads spent on them even though they are both failing
Interesting Tim Burton headline
Dang I really want to see the design process of these. There so tall I wonder if they ever messed up building one and it fell
Try watching some ask a mortician you don't have to be embalmed but I also enjoy the education of what happens to you when you die. I love your videos!!!
Meanwhile, I can hardly get my gingerbread kit house to stand up 🙃.
if you want to make a sturdy gingerbread house use white hot glue sticks. it makes it so you cant eat it anymore but i don’t really know anyone who ever did haha.
Do I wanna lick an Oogie Boogie…? YES. 😈 HAND ME THE BURLAP GHOST BUG BOIIII!!!!
I would say the 50th anniversary one
Hey Dan can you please do a DIStory on the br'er characters in the Disney parks?
HI DAN
2008 was the only year I've ever seen the holiday overlay and now I feel cheated because I knew nothing about these gingerbread houses and probably didn't even notice it.
@Disney Dan, 2020 was the year of the COVID-19 pandemic, a time when a gingerbread house couldn't be made, due to quarantine safety rules!
Gets us wondering.... Who eats these in the end?
That Hansel and Gretel
Haunted 20th aniversary haunted mansion holiday
Hot glue the house together then decorate. We never eat ours anyway
@Dan where did you get this shirt from? Need that in my collection!
Noice
I am always vibing in my local gingerbread graveyard but there’s no zero dog house cookie house. :(
Is this not done at Disney World? I assumed it was but rewatching the video I realized Disney World is not mentioned
man I just wanna know what they do with the gingerbread houses at the end every year O(-(
6:52 Oh Thanks, I hate it!
I never noticed the gingerbread house tbh😅
I might be the only one wondering this but what do they do with all that food after they are done just random thought through out the video
