- Meet Shouta, a 26-year-old Japanese aspiring musician, model, and actor who is active in the Harajuku street fashion scene. Shouta, who had a complex about his appearance, has tried to turn that negative into a positive through the power of fashion and music.

We first met Shouta on the streets of Tokyo's Harajuku neighborhood several years ago. The aspiring musician (he plays guitar and drums as well as singing) immediately stood out because of his bald head and minimalist oversized fashion. His passion for music - which has long been his dream - was obvious, even in our first conversations.
Shouta first began visiting Harajuku after moving to Tokyo from Nagano. He told us that he used to have a complex about his appearance. After starting a band and getting more involved in fashion, he began to see the negative things that he had been focusing on as potential positives that made him unique.
Over the last few years, in addition to his band, Shouta has been doing more modeling for fashion brands. His style is very "Japanese" and he wears fashion by designers - Yohji Yamamoto is his favorite - that incorporate traditional Japanese elements into their modern stylings. In addition to modeling, he has also started to do some acting in short films, something that he hopes to explore more in the future.
Shouta has built a large circle of fashion-loving friends on the streets of Harajuku, which he told us helps to keep him positive when dark thoughts start to creep in. And when he can't suppress them, he tries to focus any negativity into song writing for his band. Even though he told us that he has a "gloomy" side, Shouta is someone who we always enjoy meeting on the street, and we hope that you'll enjoy his interview as well!

Do you think all japanese people are anime characters? Is that the only way you can view things or people from japan?
please, we can share opinions and jokes with a certain sense of humor...It is obvious here that Shouta has a very personalized style and it is not a racist remark from YouKube to compare with anime characters who mostly have a very personalized haircut and clothes...Let's be nice to each other and these videos are way too inspiring to keep on clichees. OK ?

Thank you TF for sharing different ideas about fashion, I feel the same about harajuku as him but I left japan recently and I miss urahara a lot, where I live not a lot of people try to experiment with fashion, when I watch your videos I feel as if I'm meeting people in harajuku and get to learn more about them, it feels amazing and it helps me be less sad about not being in japan anymore !

We miss being 16 and those amazing teenage years! The carefree of those years to being able to pursue passions if one of the most invaluable times of our lives! It is also what that drives us to create our own custom made Randoseru backpack! Ohhhh, *Shouta* is truly so interesting-looking...and, actually, quite attractive; one is very much 'drawn to' him! Also, he is extremely charming...and, obviously, insightful and thoughtful; he didn't really strike me as being especially "negative", in any way. i appreciate, and like, his "dark side"...although it/he did not really seem to even be so "dark".
