    ABOUT:🔻
Stan and Ollie are in high spirits as they drive in an old Model T to their new jobs at the sawmill. Laurel turns on the car radio (at the time a luxury item in newer cars, not expected in an old jalopy); the "radio" is revealed to be a wind-up phonograph stashed under the car hood. Arriving at the sawmill, a slapstick sequence has them repeatedly walking into planks of wood. Starting work, Stan soon traps Ollie's hands in a window frame. After freeing him they trick a shop worker (Charlie Hall) into smoking despite a "No Smoking" sign. Stan then tears a strip off Ollie's pants with a plane and in the resulting 'tit for tat' dips a paintbrush in glue and sticks it onto Ollie's chin. Finding it is not possible to pull it off he prepares like a barber and shaves it with a plane. Ollie then gets propelled through a ventilator duct and out of an attic vent port.
Stan climbs a ladder to help him out, but the ladder topples over with them both on it. Down below, two men see the ladder falling towards them. One falls into some whitewash while the other hides in a shed, which proves to be a bad idea when the duo crash onto the shed, demolishing it. As Laurel helps Hardy out of the wreckage, there is a knocking from beneath the door. The man they help out proves to be their foreman, who was the one who sought cover in the shed. They beat a hasty retreat. The foreman would have run after them, but he was crowned by a small barrel that got kicked down the ventilator shaft and out the vent port. Attempting to flee, their car gets sawed in two lengthwise by a large band saw whilst they remain seated in it. The two fall out of the collapsing wreckage. Laurel finds the phonograph still intact and plays a record. Hardy is singularly unimpressed by music now, and chases Laurel.

    Fun fact:
In Germany this was called "Fleißige Hände" (Busy Hands) or "Am Rande der Kreissäge" (On the edge of the circular saw).
It is one of the episodes that did get an alternative dubbing, as was the case with larger full scale films like "Pardon Us".
They actually sawed a Ford Model T in half for the shot.
The song playing in the beginning is "Smile When the Raindrops Fall", altered in pitch. In the german dubbing, the music was, as almost always, replaced by contemporary GERMAN music of the time of it's dubbing.
I had a DVD set I bought 20 years ago that featured ALL the movies they ever made, even including the "european redub" where the actors themselves spoke their own lines by learning how to "speak" spanish, french, german, by imitating the sound of the words. But sadly, I lost that and it's no longer in my possession.

Easily one of my favorites. My face hurts from laughing, from Laurel & Hardy and you both 😂
I can’t wait for more L&H reactions, ‘Oliver The Eighth’, ‘Another Fine Mess’, ‘Chickens Come Home’, ‘Going Bye Bye’, ‘The Live Ghost’ Come Clean’, ‘Sons of the Desert’, ‘Our Relations’, ‘Block-Heads’, and ‘Fra Diavalo -The Devil’s Brother’ are some of my favorites that I think you’d both like.

The scene at 22.20mins where Hardy gazes almost lovingly into Stanley's eyes as he is applying the improvised shaving foam gets me deep everytime I see it.
It just illustrates the creative, emotional and professional bond these two artists shared with each other from here to the day they unfortunately died, and were lost to us forever.
But, folks, what an irreplaceable legend and body of work they left behind.
They cant be praised highly enough
I love them still so muchi guess you guys do too.

One of my favourites of The Boys films. They are at their peak of comedy at this point. This is simply genius, it's just basic and funny. Stan has very few lines, but everything is just perfect.
BTW, the line at the beginning, the line was "Gotta match?" and "I'm sorry, I don't smoke."
I've seen this film SO MANY times, that I laugh because I know what's coming.
It's such a joy watching you laugh so hysterically. THANK YOU.

You two REALLY, REALLY, must see the BBC play "Stan" shown in 2012.
Jim Norton played Stan Laurel, and Trevor Cooper played Oliver Hardy.
It brilliantly portrays the final few months of Oliver Hardys life after his final stroke, and death by cancer in 1957.
I think it is still on You Tube.
It is very moving and emotional, it time trips over a lot of their career.
If you havent already seen it, please include it soon on your excellent, entertaining reactions channel.
Bless both of you. Like Laurel and Hardy themselves, you are an hilarious team-up!!😂

yeah is interesting to see some of the scenes back then where filming outside people going about their business and clothes wore at that time. I have seen scenes in a laurel and hardy movie for example where was filming in a park and people looked like standing about or lying on grass watching the filming about 1929 i think it was. I think the guy said got a match on smoking question.

Hi Guitarman🎸 Here. Did you know that back in 2018, Steve Coogan & John C Reilly played as Laurel and Hardy in the Biographical, Comedy, Drama, (Stan & Oille)?
I went to the cinema to see this back in 2019 and they were quite some funny bits in it. And they played laurel and hardy so well. Steve coogan( who does Alan partridge), did a very good job at imitating Stan Laurel. Plus the actor doing Oliver Hardy done a very good job too. I sent a link from a Wikipedia page also with information on that. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stan_%26_Ollie ) 😄👍🏻🎸😊. Plus here is a link to the trailer. czcams.com/video/2WuxHrQC26o/video.htmlsi=sY9RXTtCw3UCkw7h. I hope this link gets through this time. If it comes through multiple times you have to let me know.
