- How did you spend your quarantine? Jimmy Buffett asked the fans to tell him which songs, not in his usual repertoire, would they like to hear? Within minutes, over 10,000 tracks were requested. Some songs he had to re-learn as it's been so long since he played them! Directed by Jimmy's daughter, Delaney Buffett, the docuseries is an inside look of the stories and inspirations of the songs.
The series has become a fan favorite which of course evolved into recording his favorites with producer/bandmate Mac McAnally and Coral Reefers Peter Mayer and Eric Darken. Available at: smarturl.it/SYDKBH

I used to sing this to my daughter when she was a baby and I would rock her in the middle of the night to get her back to sleep. Later, this was the father/daughter dance song for my daughters wedding, and I sang it to her as we danced. Love this song, and I absolutely loved your dad.

This really tugged at my heartstrings today 😭. My deepest sympathies to you Savannah for whom this song was about and to especially Delaney, probably hard to watch since you’re the one who did this series with your dad. My deepest sympathies to all of you. Jimmy was such a truly treasure for all to experience as a story teller, writer, musician and singer. Each one of these videos accompanied with his story and the photos have had me crying and feeling what lyrics are about and their meaning. Thank you Jimmy, sail on. ✌️🫶🤗
Lena: Ditto, tears in my eyes as I listen to this song about Savannah Jane and think about my wonderful daughter Sam. I am so blessed to have experienced Jimmy on many occasions and have such a wonderful daughter. May God take Jimmy in and grant him smooth sails. RIP Jimmy.

Been listening for years and I accidentally found this on Pandora. I am in tears, my daughter, and son in law, have a 3 year old girl. And 3 boys. I cried at this song. And yes I sent it to my son in law. May God Bless you and your family.

My 30 year old daughter is getting married and she has known since her days in a car seat that this song was going to be her daddy/daughter dance! i don't blame you for the time we were running down the river in the boat when she was 5 and she sang every word of " why don't we get drunk and screw to her grandmother". That might have been my fault .

Being a father of two daughters myself, both grown and gone now, these songs about Jimmy’s girls warm my heart. Something very special about raising girls. I dearly love mine.
With his passing Sept 1, this video and the others in this series become even more special. Love and prayers for Jimmy’s wife and kids.
I have two very special grown daughters as well. His songs take me back to those special moments I was able to share with them. Jimmy was a special person that not many are ever made like him.
Thrilled to randomly come across these videos of Jimmy. Forever grateful to Delaney for putting these together. So sad to know he is no longer physically with us, but will forever be with us in spirit. Incredibly special moment having Little Miss Magic played for my daddy- daughter dance this past January. ❤😢
Why is it so popular..... because we all are fathers and we want to be the best for our daughters and this song allows us to be fragile and it's such a nice piece of music for dad's everywhere.

This was my daughter's song too--Gone too soon is my favorite pirate!
I got this song title tattooed along side a portrait of myself and my mother, I was about 7 in the photo. It was first tattoo and was tattooed on my right shoulder blade in 2008. She absolutely loved the Keys and Jimmy, and sang this song to me as a child. Fast forward to February 7, 2021 and I lost my mother to her 5 year long Early Onset Alzheimers battle at the young age of 66. I was supposed to get married the following week that year. Our marriage was postponed to her birthday in July of 2022.
This is absolutely going to be my Father-Daughter dance song in our wedding. My parents had been married for 39 years when she passed. Hopefully my Dad won’t see this because it’s a surprise. But really…….real tears from the depth of my soul. I love this. Thank you

This is my favorite Jimmy Buffet song ever. It's really hard to hear what is being played on the record. So happy to see this. Been a fan since my dad introduced me to this as a kid.

Heard this song for first time back in the late 90s shortly after my daughter was born. She got married on August 12th and it's the song we danced to in the Father-Daughter dance. So sad to see him pass away just weeks later. This song always meant a lot to me.

Just took my 17 month old little girl down to South Padre and we stayed at the Margaritaville Resort. My dad would take me to SP every summer and we would listen to Jimmy Buffet all the time. My dad would sing me to sleep with “A Pirate Looks At Forty” but I knew it as “Mother Mother Ocean”. He would sing this too and sometimes, I’m sure I caught a tear or two in his eyes. Now that I have a little girl, I understand why. This song does speak to the souls out there. Jimmy reached us and continues to reach the heart of families, generation after generation. ❤

Since before she was born, "Little Miss Magic" was my daughter's song. She started 8th grade last week. Yeah, her name is Ava Delaney--I think Jimmy and both his daughters would approve. 🥲
Delaney, thank you for this and for all of these. I, a lifelong fan, am heartbroken that he is gone. I know it's a drop in the bucket compared to what you feel but I already miss him so much.

Love Jimmy in concert but listen more to studio albums. Love them all. Didn’t love this album at first bc it’s unpolished. Yet these are my favorite songs and this is how I’ve always dreamed of hearing them (solo) so they grew on me. Now he’s he’s gone and they’ve become a cherished gift, I keep coming back.
