The land u born in believes in no barriers in natures creation. There is nothing to seek outside you as you are complete as you are just the way God planned to be. All roads lead to one and no matter what anyone believes deep within its just beliefs and reality is very different and difficult to grasp. He was the enfant terrible back in the day and the purists were up in arms over his experimentation and collaborations. I have seen him perform with Mclaughlin, the energy was amazing! Yeah, absolutely right. my older cousins had posters of Zakir Hussain above their beds! What a handsome guy he was and still is!!!!! I've seen the newer generation around me diss the classical musicians.. But the aura of Zakir Hussain, the enigma of Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangas performing live can't even be compared to watching movies in theatres!! (edited-added punctuation n all, @Joseph)

so glad you did this video because my father is also a tabla player, he runs his own music academy and his teacher's teacher is ustaad Allah rakha ji , who is Ustad Zakir Hussein's father and teacher so we follow that music legacy in our household as i also learn music from my parents. my father has also met Ustad Zakie Hussein a couple of times and his brother taufiq quereshi ji came to our house, blessed and taught me a little.
Never knew ... Ustad was such cool ..never saw him in this avatar in any other interview.... Always been an ardent fan...
