From the Sessions at WOUB episode 3. These interview clips were cut from the episode, but are none the less very entertaining. Paul Thorn is hilarious!
Paul, man, I'm one of ur biggest fans. I'm justin laney, jackey laneys boy. Man I remember u coming out and picking guitars with dad. I've been to ur concerts and love u. All hail Paul thorn.
The biggest reason that I love this guy is that he is for real, he sings about life at ground level! "She know's I ain't right in the head, but she goes with it" sounds real familiar to me when it comes to a few of my friends and relationships! Thanks for this excellent post, almost like talking to him!
He is truly entertaining because he doesn't try to be an entertainer. He plays his music....very talented singer and songwriter.....expresses himself through his paintings......and when he talks, he is just being himself, he just happens to be a really funny guy ! Thanks for putting this on You Tube for us all to see.
I saw him open for Jeff Beck back in the 90s, solo. He's a musical force. What an awesome talent, and I grew up about two hours from Tupelo. A great example of the good people in the deep south.
wow this man has a thing called being wise.. humble... honest,,, what i breath of fresh air in a world we choke on .... god bless you mr... paul... the more i see the more i like him ... can not say in words ... to explain a genuine article ... woody guthrie ,,, this guy might even be more real than woody... or ... dylan,,, mr paul when library of congress wants you to record for them ,,,just say know,,,,
I have Watched/Listened to this guy 3 or 4 times at Blues Concerts, he is a Great Entertainer and Holds the Audience in his Hands--He Deserves to be on the Late Night Shows or somewhere that is Bigtime to really Expose his Talent to the World...
I just the other day discovered Paul Thorn. Really like his music and sense of humor. It's a good thing he is so gregarious otherwise this interview would have been very dry indeed. He carries it with his humor and candor. It would be great to see him perform in person. Look forward to it. I just ordered my first album.
I like the part where he talks about "taking it as far as I could go" (referring to his boxing career). I aways have told young people that its not what you are ABLE to do in life that makes you successful, its knowing your limitations and being able to accept them. That, in context, will help you achieve goals to the best of your abilities. Accept your limitations and work around them.
I sure do like you Paul thorn, I was listening the other day and I heard your voice, I knew it was good day to whip your ass, I’m glad man, I love your humor.
Holy Cats. Those pieces look just like the stuff I saw in Phx. I'll say, Servous Nystem was the group. Of course I can't post an example here. I don't know what Instagram is about.
No matter where this guy was born, he is Southern through and through in every way, mannerisms, respectful, accent, and humor. What a good guy.
I can't help but think he's from Hanover Indiana lol Reminds me a lot Woody Boyd...

Just found him, what a treat to listen to real music
To have a friend like Paul Thorn would be the best thing ever.
Mesmerizing THORN! Thanks for sharing! See you in Kansas City in the Spring 2020! Feb. 13, 2020
I thank you brother for the fact that you are a genuine human being. Nat a fake, just one of us, regular guy. God bless and keep going.
Awesome job Paul! Love your work!
Paul thorn is really good in every sense.
For true, Paul for true...

Paul could have been a stand up comic if he didn't write songs. Seen him 5 timers, he's always great. And funny.
Tough too. He fought Roberto Duran and would have won had Duran not cut him and they had to stop the fight.
Paul Thorn is a great guy and I want to go see him in concert
Love Paul's songs and view of life. I need some Paul in my songwriting! If you ever wanna pull a bit of Blue Ridge hillbilly into your work...Hollar!
