LOL. I suppose I was lucky - my parents didn't mind me playing Murder Ballads loud enough for the entire street to hear.

I knew of Nick Cave from his duet with Kylie making the UK charts.
Then a few weeks later I saw this performance on channel 4 and the 13 year old me was hooked.
I bought Murder Ballads soon after and I've been hooked ever since. In fact, I've got tickets to see Nick Cave and Warren Ellis in Croydon this coming September, some 25 years later.

Still have the CD, bought it 98-99 or something and it's still awsome.

You can't get anymore O.G. than this classic murder ballad -- covered and reinterpreted so well by Cave and co. like few, if any, others in modern music can!

This show got me into Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - went out and bought Murder Ballads that week and everything else soon after. If I remember rightly Iggy Pop was on the same show in his clear plastic pants?!

I worked a record store and a friend had me buy him Murder Ballads on my staff discount. He never got that CD. Haha.

It's one of the things Blixa has always done amazingly well from the early 80s in his band Einsturzende Neubauten.

What comes into my mind whenever I hear the word "badass" is Nick Cave performing Stagger Lee.
It is btw the sexiest song I know. I hope that doesn´t mean I´m perverted or something...

Oh... it's just a weird statement, regarding Kylie... in a Nick Cave context. PJ's music is generally way more similar, so it's just very weird.
