Calling all voice acting aficionados! Who are some of the unsung heroes behind the mic in the world of animation? Share your picks for the most underappreciated voice actors below and let's give them the recognition they deserve!
Jess Harnell & Charlie Adler are some of my favorites. You forgot to ad Tex Hex from Bravestarr for the Charlie Adler part.
Jeff Bennett because he did a great job with voicing Kowalski in “The Penguins Of Madagascar” tv series.
Corey Burton. He almost never plays a main role but is one of the best mimics in the industry. Of this list, only Jeff Bennet has more credits. His voice is all over the Disney Parks as Captain Hook, Figment, Ludwig Von Drake, The Hatbox Ghost, The Monorail tram narrator, the People mover etc. But his best known original roles are Cad Bane and Dale from Rescue Rangers and Braniac from DC animated. Probably one of the least known modern voice actors.

Voice Actors as a whole are underappreciated. What they're capable of doing and the characters they can bring to life with their voices is nothing short of amazing. Not to mention many can do multiple completely different sounding voices.

Troy Baker can do both Kevin Convory's Batman and Mark Hamill's voice
Elizabeth Maxwell sounds like Mary Elizabeth MyGlynn
David Kaye's "YESSSSSS" always give me goosebumps😅
Not only are voice actors underappreciated, But the whole voice acting occupation is underappreciated. I mean there may be people out there who think that voice acting is barely a talent since anyone can speak into a mic and record audio, But professional VA's put their hearts, Souls, Blood, Sweat and tears into their vocal performances.
When they record their voices, They help bring animation and fictional characters to life. Voice actors may not get as much credit or recognition for their talents as live action performing actors, But even so VA's deserve as much for their efforts.

Even more so because you can not see their faces to understand the emotion they are trying to express. They only have their voice to do this.
Patrick Seitz and Erica Mendez said at a convention a few months back that you'd be surprised how much of a physical workout you get from working your lungs and throat over the course of a day. They genuinely work their core muscles doing these things.
These Voice Actors and Actresses definitely deserve Love, Respect, Appreciation and Praise. Jess Harnell, Rob Paulson, Cree Summer, Candi Milo, Janice Kawaye, Jim Cummings, Charlie Adler, Debi Derryberry, David Kaye, Tim Curry, Jeff Bennett, Patrick Warburton, Erica Lindbeck, Brittney Karbowski, Brianna Knickerbocker, you name it! They all deserve More Love.

David Kauffman too. And I think Patrick Warburton has more than enough appreciation too himself. His Kronk and Joe Swanson characters are what keep him going. And I think some of the voice actors are also underappreciated due to not being social media either

I meet Jess Harnell when I was 13 he was really nice and hilarious I wish he wasn’t so underrated since he was part of my childhood voicing Cedric from “Sofia the first” Chilly the Snowman from “Doc McStuffins” and Grim Gloom from “The 7D” and in all those roles he’s hilarious
Let's not forget one of his most underrated of all voices The Seagulls in Finding Nemo! Who doesn't laugh when they hear "MINE...MINE...MINE.."
If I'm not mistaken, he also voiced Barricade and Ironhide in the Live Action Transformers movies 🤯😁

It's generally incredible how much of a range that these celebrities has and i'm honestly shocked that we don't talk them as voice actors then we probably should.
Among other roles, Jeff Bennett also voiced Brooklyn and Owen in Gargoyles and Captain Fanzone in Transformers Animated! 🤯😁
I feel like these voice actors don't get enough recognition: Zeno Robinson, Debi Derryberry, Roger Craig Smith, Richard Horvitz, Laura Bailey, Travis Willingham, and Kevin Michael Richardson.
Christine Cavanaugh, the voice of Gosalyn Mallard and Chucky Finster, was also the voice of DeeDee's brother Dexter. She died in 2001. The thumbnail does NOT look like her. Did the woman in the thumbnail voice Dexter's mom?
Actually Christine Cavanugh died in 2014. She retired in 2003. Candi Milo took over as Dexter when she left the show.

I grew up with these amazing voice actors and their wonderful characters. As a kid, I learned to love and respect cartoons and I still do as an adult. My dream is to become a voice actor and share my love for animation with everyone so they can experience the same joy I feel whenever I watch any of my favorite cartoons.
Where's Tim Curry? I produced a lot of animation and I've worked with hundreds of actors (including some on your list) and Tim was the best of the lot. He can do ANYTHING and make it funny to boot. I also loved working with Charlie Adler and when we got him and Tim together our sides would ache for hours from all the laughter. Damn, I miss working with them.

David Kaye is such an amazing voice actor. His Beast Wars Megatron voice is so iconic to this day.
The fact he's also the English voice actor of Sesshōmaru in InuYasha still amazes me. His range is incredible.
I’m surprised that Sesshomaru’s voice actor, David Kaye, also played as Megatron in “Beast Wars” and Clank in the “Ratchet & Clank” video games.
He’s also in Pokémon Horizons as Gibeon now
Matt Hill. He is known for several roles, including Kira Yamato in Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny, Ryo Sanada in Ronin Warriors, Kero in Cardcaptors and of course, Ed, in Ed, Edd n Eddy. Sir David Jason. He voices for Danger Mouse, The BFG, Count Duckula, Hugo from Victor and Hugo, and Toad from The Wind in the Willows.
Matt Hill is literally AMAZING!!!! He's the very first voice actor I ever met back in 2004.... So blessed to call him a friend 💗

Candi is amazing, bro! And even DC Douglas, too! He voiced Ryu in the first season of the Netflix Shaman King reboot as well! These guys are amazing! Thanks for shining a light on these great legends! They're so underrated right now, man! Lisa Ortiz and Jason Griffith, and even the legendary Veronica Taylor should all be on here, too! They are some of the most brilliant VAs out there, bro! They're insanely talented! Lisa and Jason both voiced Sonic and Amy on Sonic X and in the Sonic video games during th show's run in a deal with 4Kids that was created with Sega that allowed the English dub actors to resprise their respective roles from the show in the games! Amd Jennifer Hale, she's a beast and same with both Seth MacFarlane and his younger sister Rachel, they're also really good actors, I mean, Seth can do over 200+ voices, and he stars in addition to creating them, Family Guy, American Dad and The Cleveland Show, as well the Ted franchise for Universal! This dude is a god! A fucking monster! He's the best!

Voice actors really do deserve more appreciation. I want to hear them in more movie voice roles instead of parts going to screen actors.

I was able to see Jess Harnell doing Twisted Toonz live a while ago. He is freaking amazing. The whole group was. If you haven't seen Twisted Toonz, they have several on CZcams to watch.

Benedict Campbell. The voice of Papa Bear in the "Berenstain Bears" Cartoon, and especially [IMO] King K. Rool in the [rather underrated] Donkey Kong Country Cartoon [which you guys seem to NOW put in a negative light]. Sure, some would describe said vocal performance as "Stereotypically" British, but that kind of works for me. Heck, Campbell reprised this role in Alex Henderson Animation's "Return to Krocodile Isle." Seriously, go check that video out.
This is just an additional opinion, but In my eyes (and ears), Campbell is the "David Ogden Stiers" of C-List Voice actors: he may not be as well-known as the others on this list, but his vocal work, especially as the Kremling King, should definitely be appreciated as well!

Christine Cavanaugh -- Rugrats -- We'll miss you. You will forever be known as the voice of Chuckie Finster. She also voiced Oblina on Ahh! Real Monsters!
For the most part, though, voice actors usually are underappreciated. Why aren't there any categories on award shows, for voice acting?
Dave Fennoy also voiced Pong Krell in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
The voice acting "superstars" of today know they had to bend the knee in the presence of people like Daws Butler, Susan Blu, Janet Waldo, June Foray and the GOAT himself, Mel Blanc...
I'd argue Keith Furgeson's best performance was Lord Hater in Wander Over Yonder. Just watch him sing "You're the Greatest," and tell me that didn't give *some* inspiration for the song "Peaches" in the Super Mario Bros movie!
I'd give so much to meet Danny Kaye. T-rex Megatron is one of my favorite all time villains
What about June Foray? She did the voice of Rocky the flying squirrel, Natasha, Granny and Witch Hazel.

WHAT?? Why doesn't Jess Harnell, Keith Ferguson, Candi Milo, Jeff Bennett, Charlie Adler, Daws Butler, Bea Benaderet, Dave Fennoy, Brianna Knickerbocker, and David Kaye don't get appreciated?? All of them are great voice actors and deserve more respect!! Plus, I thought that Candi Milo, Keith Ferguson, and Jeff Bennett got more appreciation because I heard lots of people talking about them.
I would say that the voice actors work harder than the so called real actors and yet barely get any credit for their work, they also don't get into as much trouble that I'm aware of as a lot of these Hollywood stars, whose egos are through the roof and they think they are better than everyone else?

When is Mojo going to give Dee Bradley Baker the respect he deserves? As far as I’m concerned, Baker isn’t on ANY of these lists. And that pisses me off because he’s incredibly versatile. Some of my favorite fictional characters of all time, Olmec, Perry the Platypus, Happy Higgenbottom and Appa, are all voiced by that man. Give Dee Baker the respect he deserves, dammit!
