My only problem with ur video of rome is that there's no footage of rome at night.
We just got back from Rome a week ago and while I didn't see this before hand, we saw 90% of what was shown in the video. Super easy to get around the city and we felt safe at all times. Riding metro between some locations was easy.
We also took bullet trains from Rome to Naples where we then rented a car and drove the Amalfi Coast and stayed in Positano. Then a bullet train from Rome to Florence and a regular train to Pisa. All highly recommend to see as well.
Such a great trip and cannot wait to go back.
Can you please tell me approximately how much the bullet train from Rome to Florence costs in American money. I am still trying to figure out the Italian money conversion.
Nice! read all the comments and very helpful. It will be my first trip to Rome so excited and mind blank. May I ask, would you recommend public transport in general? Did you also try using Uber there? Thanks
@@encourager124 We had no issue with using Metro while in Rome. It got us where we wanted to be quickly and safely. We did not use Uber or busses/trams at all while we were there.

We took the bullet train from Rome to Pisa as a day trip. It was very convenient to return to our hotel in Rome the same day.
Hello Harvey, how are you doing today.
Hi, how much take did it take you from Rome to Pisa with the bullet train? I am also planning a trip to Rome and I will be happy to receive some guidance 😊.

A place I would love to visit again someday. It truly is an amazing experience.
We are going to Rome in a few weeks. Thanks for the video.
You're famous for all your hard work putting these videos online for years. Thank you!
Glad you like them!
Going in 3 weeks! Super excited! Thanks for this video
Hello friend good evening thank you for sharing beautiful county Roma Italy 🇮🇹
Look beautiful place full watched here
I would love ❤️ to visit Rome and see the colosseum…my friend said she stays in Monti and it’s absolutely beautiful…but watching your vlog as gave me inspiration to look today on the internet regarding flights and hotels….thank you for sharing this amazing place
Wow wow!! ❤❤❤❤❤ I’m speechless for all your hard work for making these amazing videos! ❤️❤️
Great vid! Thank you
Over the years, I've been to Rome a dozen times for work. Ive been to many other European hot spot cities as well. Rome is the only place I would spend my own money to go back to.
The Metro system there is fantastic and super easy to figure out. I always stayed within a few blocks of El Centro - where the main Metro Hub is. From there, you can go anywhere easily and the hotels are fine and not as expensive as it is within walking distance of the historic district.
For beach lovers take the Metro to Osteo Lido, its the last Metro train stop going west. Get off and walk half a mile to the black sand beach. Mind your feet. That black sand is super hot, even on just a mildly warm sunny day. (ask me how I know).
There are some great restaurants, but they can be pricey. I had the best steak meal of my life there, (cant remember the name of the restaurant tho). For the budget minded, or if you're pressed for time, the food at the Pizza Rustica places is great and a lot less expensive than the cafes and restaurants - a LOT less expensive! I love me some Pizza Rustica!
For those craving to sit at a table on the sidewalk and have a refreshment while people watching - The same coffee sitting at a sidewalk table will cost twice what it does while standing. IMO, its worth it though. Dont expect the waiter to come check on you. He won't. If you need him, or her, just wave them over.
My personal favorite handout is Piazza Novona at dusk. Not overly crowded like Trevi is and plenty of tables around to sit at, rest your feet, and have a coffee or a beer.
great italians
You DO NOT need a passport to enter the Vatican City and you should avoid carrying it on a sightseeing tour as there are pickpockets in the most touristy areas. Leave it in the hotel safe.
Awesome video!
Just came back to let you know this video was really helpful to me. Thank you❤. I also laid my hands on Clarke Wigg’s Rome travel guide, a priceless book that gave me the secrets of having the best Rome vacations. I’ll recommend that to everyone as well.
Btw this video is the best start for anyone planning to go to Rome
Happy to hear that thank you
City walk is awesome in Roma
omg this video is full of artsy vibes.I actually didn't plan to visit Italy at first but after watching this video, I think I should add it to my travel plans! I think I'll go with the train from Spain because I'll have a friend to help me get cheap train tickets without having to go to the airport and wait for a long time in advance. I can't wait to go and relax
Awesome video thanks
Very good country I 💕 Italy I 💕 Bangladesh
Well done! We can’t wait to go back. By the way, it is NOT crazy expensive to get there (we flew round trip from Toronto for $350 in 2018) or stay there. I did 10 days ALL in for $2,000. EVERYTHING! Oh, that 2k included Florence, Pisa, Lucca, Riomaggiore and Venice. GO! (Please learn the correct pronunciation of the places).
That was PRE-COVID19.
Prices vary from month to month.
Not to nitpick but the Centro Storico is pretty much all of what any tourist will see. And a few minutes looking up pronunciation would help hugely.
Trastevere is NOT a good place to stay, being inconvenient for most people to the majority of sites. It IS quite charming and good at dinner time or lunch (when the cannon go off on the hillside to mark noon. )
Rome offers free city sponsored tours that take appx 3 hours to see 80% of what you mention. Only reserve a spot through city website and do tip your guide.
A guided tour of Vatican museum and San Pietro will skip the lines at Piazza San Pietro, saving potentially hours in the sun. Alternatively organize a tour of the Scavi through the Vatican website and see a 1sy century cemetery emerging inside San Pietro, also skipping the line to get into the piazza.
Obrigado pelas informações, excelente vídeo.
That is good place to visit the Italy 🇮🇹.
WOW
I would like to visit Rome someday!

*ROME IS ON YOUR BUCKET LIST*
Thank you for the great video ! Te amo ITALIA ! 🇺🇸❤️🇮🇹
The panthéon was founded by Agrippa in -27.
Good job,
😊
Rome is truly an amazing city to explore. The city itself is a museum. Spent 6 nights 2 weeks ago and needed probably 2 more days. A few comments on my experience:
The food is actually lackluster so don't be overtly excited. Not many options besides puzza and pasta. The pasta is definitely better than pizza an stick to anything that has truffle. Purchase as many tour guides as you can, it will make your exploration so much more enjoyable and educational. Be prepared for insane crowds... like insane. If crowds bother you don't even think of going to the Vatican, my worst experience of our trip. There is nowhere to sit in the city besides at a restaurant. Currently at Florence which is a much 'nicer ' city but absolutely jam packed with American students so it feels like a bit life a student town. The food is so much better here though and there are many more food options which Rome doesn't offer. The history of Rome and setting the rings in person is still an unbelievable experience and will definitely be reworking in a few years time to enjoy it again.
There are various types of restaurants outside of the areas that you visited...
The food is not lackluster by any stretch of the imagination. You probably found a bunch of tourist traps. Not many options besides pasta and pizza? Did you visit the city with your eyes closed? There are excellent restaurants (mostly italian, roman, japanese, thai, chinese, indian and greek), pizzerias, gelaterias, bakeries, pastry shops scattered around the city.
the way he said Michelangelo pissed me off lmao
Nice video but I would like to comment on something that has been said already, passports in the Vatican. While there isn't a "checkpoint" where passports are checked as they relinquished it to the Italian Republic as the Vatican is a small landlocked state without ports or airports,it is useful to know that in Italy we are required to carry an ID at all times hence in the Vatican also as i wouldn't leave my ID card anywhere before going to st Peter's. Plus if i wanted to be picky (and i am 😂) travertine is not a volcanic rock but made of sediment, limescale. Plus the Pantheon is older than claimed also as a Roman i would say the pizza looks dry 😊
Hi, Thank you for sharing information about Rome. Can you or anyone else provide some good recommendations for places to stay in Rome in 2 months, within walking distance to Pantheon, Colosseum and Trevi Fountain?
Just to clear the record, Limestone and Travartine are not volcanic rocks. Limestone is a carbonate based sedimetry rocks that form in sea beds. Travartine is a very similar carbonate rock but was formed from mineral rich waters in a terrestrial enviornment not a sea bed.
Love the videos , obviously your limited by time but lots more to see than the “main “ tourist traps , my I recommend a freebie day , circus maximus , up to the secret keyhole down the hill to the pyramid then behind it to the non catholic graveyard (also no passport at Vatican museums now it does say on the ticket take them but they never check now )
I've been to Rome a few times but not visited Centro Stonco and Trastevere although I have visited all of the rest in the video
Take a train from RomeTermini to Anzio - walk down the hill and enjoy one of the finest and cleanest beaches in the Med.
My daughter and I went in October 2022 and had the whole beach to ourselves - a lifetime experience, in memory always and forever.
You can also pay respects to all the Allied Soldiers who lost their life there.
Rome is home for us, we have been so many times.
Castile St Angelo is hidden gem - we usually walk from Vatican City after Angelus or the Papal Audience and walk down the wall that conceals the seceret tunnel that previous Pontiffs used to escape attackers.
Guess where I will be in the Summer?
Que cidade linda :)
Thank God’s
I’m planning on going solo to Rome in April 2024. Should I just book on my own or would it be best to join a travel group? This will be my first time in Europe.
If you have experience with motor bikes mopeding around Rome is a blast.
We rented bicycles. I was worried about false or real claims on my credit card from damage or tickets on a scooter/moterxycle. Rome as tourists see it is actually pretty small. And we could lock them in the courtyard of our Airbnb.
It's pronounced Porketta! Repeat after me "Por... ke.. tta!" GOT IT ? Bravo.
Okay it has been brought to our attention that there was an error regarding the passport for the Vatican. No you do not need it! My apologies for the confusion.
Great job buddy 👏👏

NOTE: The Pantheon was built (after original burnt down) approx 120-130 AD (dedicated 126), Rededicated as a church in 609.
When the best time to visit Rome thks
Very good country I Italy I Bangladesh. The panthéon was founded by Agrippa in -27..
Anyone know the price of the bullet train to Florence or Naples that he suggested? Like one way or round trip?
I believe you need the passport to see the museums or the sistine chapel.
You may need ID in some sites in a new attempt officials are trying to curb ticket resellers scalping tickets. This drives up prices and makes getting them harder for actual visitors.
Carrying one’s passport is unnecessary and potentially foolish. Leave it locked in your hotel safe or Airbnb, hidden in your luggage unless it’s needed.
Your home country Driving License or other government issue ID is adequate.
🎉
How could you leave out the Via Appia Antica and the Capitoline Museum?
Oh. The Appian way. Meh. Yeah is pretty
Hey Island Hopper TV can rome be in the oxford dictionary
Just to let everybody know, you don’t need a passport to get into the VATICAN. I think he’s just being funny.
If you’re American you do

@@Alex_Rome you’re right
Heading there next week, don’t you need one because it’s a different country? We’ll be carrying our passports regardless but I’m honestly curious.
@@lits5984 no...nobody needs any passport or id to enter the Vatican.

My favorite things to do in Rome 2004. Get Pizza and Gelato. Sight see the amazing Architecture and listen to Opera. Take the train 🚆 to Gaeta.
Did u use turist pass? If YES can u add a link..What about also Vatican turist pass?
I just visited in August, no mentions of the passport there

I have a question you said to bring your passport when you go to the Vatican
Upon further research. Even though the Vatican is another country. You actually actually do not need to bring your passport to enter into the Vatican. Simply purchase tickets and you are in.
* *The most amazing city in the world*
Heated from people that the Colosseum is no longer available for people to get inside.
Been there four times but how about first timer travelers probably they’ll feel like being robbed.
Not fear to them and that’s sad.
That’s not true. Tickets require a little planning but can easily be gotten.
The ongoing debate Rome is resolving is how to limit resellers buying all the tickets and marking them up 100%. So you must show ID matching your ticket now, so that Rome knows that tickets are being bought for the person using them.
SpaGna LOL IMAGINING ASKING FOR A GNOCHI LOL
The best museum in Rome is MUSEO NAZIONALE ROMANO. It is a museum for intelligent people !
You do not need your passport to go to Vatican city, we were just there

ISTRIA IS ITALY!
Unfortunately when in Rome I'm too busy fighting off pickpockets to do anything else.
I’ve been to atone a dozen times in all seasons.
I’ve never once been robbed. Basic precautions and one is fine.
why do you need a passport to enter the Vatican?
It's a State.
I never had to get my passport checked at the Vatican?.
Do you need a passport to go to the Vatican?
There are people saying not anymore.
Please learn the proper pronunciation of the sites you describe.
It's altar not alter.
"There's gonna be plenty of different Italian foods (in Rome)"... No s**t, Sherlock!

Hey!
I'm currently FULL of delicious negroni's, and smoking a cigar, five minutes away from the Vatican.
Tomorrow? Much the same thing as today, then, I'm going to Molise to buy a house, and I will be using cash.
Love to you all. Xxxxx
Pronunciation is just brutal, you list the right sites by holy crow you don’t actually seem knowledgeable about the topic.
une institution qui n'a rien fait pour ma mère.
Le fils de Dieu il a fait une école de commerce et il ne regrette pas c'est bien mieux que de servir une institution qui s'est déviée du verbe de Dieu.
The guy just butchered anything that wasnt english
I live in Rome, it is very very overrated city, and the reasons for that are almost unlimited, I lived in Stockholm, Budapest, and I've visited Amsterdam, Bremen, it is the worst, it is amazing if you see some drone photos of Rome by drone..but reality is different.
It is worth a 3 day visit for anyone. Maybe to live its not that great but for visiting it is nice
Yeah bro you’re just used to it. The architecture alone is not like anywhere else. Like even normal buildings look crazy cool. You’re really taking it for granted
I think the age of some of the sites and how relatively well they are preserved. Modern civilization as we know it was pretty much borne in Rome so there is also that.
I’m sorry... I enjoyed the sights you showed, but after like 5 minutes I couldn’t handle your butchering of Italian names. No one expects you to pronounce perfectly, but please … “Sentrow storeeko” … “Piawzaa dee Spog-na” … lol. If one is going to do a tourist video about places in Rome, one should probably learn how to pronounce names with some accuracy.
So awful! I agree
I'll be honest, Rome may look nice, but Rome is the worst European city in which to live in.
It's the only capital city in Europe that has problems with crime, traffic, pollution, corruption, poverty, and inequality. You won’t find those problems anywhere else in Europe.
Matter of taste, I guess. I never felt unsafe in many visits to Rome, as far as crime goes.
Every country has poverty. Some hide it better.
Italy generally has a cheerful chaos I personally enjoy but I could see a Gernan or Swede for example finding it unpleasant.
@dantheman5582 You're obviously a troll. No way a person with a normal IQ would genuinely think Rome is the only capital in Europe with all the problems you listed. Actually, it sounds so dumb it's almost funny.
@dantheman5582 stop trolling please, you're so bad at it
When im in rome i do as the Romans do 😂😂😂
You mean pillage, displace and forcibly assimilate others? ;)
