  • Goals from 'Well's games against the Old Firm in the 1976 Scottish Cup...
Motherwell 3 Celtic 2, 3rd Round tie, Fir Park, Motherwell, 24th January 1976. Trailing 2-0 at half-time to goals from Kenny Dalglish (not shown) and Andy Lynch, Motherwell stage a memorable comeback to stun the Hoops. Bobby Graham, Ian Taylor and Wullie Pettigrew are 'Well's scorers.
Motherwell 2 Rangers 3, Semi-Final tie, Hampden Park, Glasgow, 31st March 1976. What goes around...Motherwell lead Gers 2-0 at half-time, thanks to strikes from Stewart McLaren and Wullie Pettigrew. However, a hotly disputed penalty award allows Alex Miller to bring Rangers back into the game, before a Derek Johnstone double dumps the Steelmen out at the Semi-Final stage for the second year in a row.

40 years later, that still hurts..... I remember the 3 games against Hibs, but the 3-2 against Celtic will never be forgotten.....

I was at the game and left at 2 .2 . You could sense it was turning against us when that outrageous penalty decision was given against us. And of course John Greig wasn't when he upended oor Wullie, I can't stand to hear VENTINES DAY.

When Rangers need a penalty ...the ref ALWAYS obliges!
