It is hard reflecting on this and the town Oscarville underneath Lake Lanier, and places like Tulsa. Thriving Black communities that were destroyed because they did not have the same privilege.

Pine Bluffs Ark, Sanford Florida,Rosewood Florida, U street of Washington DC,Parts of Myrtle Beach, and the South side of Greensboro NC, Tuskegee Alabama and McGregor Way in Houston. There were SOOOOOO MANY hubs of industry and agriculture that were destroyed by hatred and unequal drafts from WWII, Vietnam , Korea that took large deaths of the black workforce and never got their VA survivors benefit either.

Go look up why protestors burned Tulsa. It wasn’t for no good reason but the reason is left out to make the perpetrators look innocent. Pure gaslighting and blame shifting to fit the narrative.

That’s a reasonable temptation under the circumstances. You would get some help. But you might end up getting really depressed even while your daily life was easier if you went back. I know someone like that with another dodgy religion.
You can join a sane, non sexist church for some support. Methodist? They vary quite a bit. You’d want to find out about the specific church. Presbyterian? Episcopalian may be too different for you. Or perhaps more different is good for you. You can also consider a Unitarian Universalist church, they don’t require specific beliefs but try to preserve the good things about church without the demands to believe this or that.

Oh, hunny.... I've been in and out of church activity for a lot of my life. My life is always THE BEST (not because everything runs smoothly) when I am actively participating. Why? Yes, there is so much there for me, but best of all is the people I get to serve and care for! THAT is what the gospel of JESUS CHRIST is about. THAT is what The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints is supposed to be about. Not money. Not power. Not getting ahead in this world....but about love, service, hope, strength, and everything that points us to our Savior and a truly beautiful life. Anything else is just human error. You are needed. Somebody needs you. And God has a life, an existence for you that will be WAY MORE thrilling, satisfying, and joyful than any amount of money can buy. Only fools get caught on that. Tomorrow you may lose it all. But having a close relationship with your God and your Redeemer will be forever yours, as long as you choose....and nothing.... NOTHING will ever be sweeter ❤

"Doing things right" what do you even mean? And do you have any clue just how hard people work that have little, put só much effort, and yet stay poor, or just "do not make it"? Do you think that poor and/or working class people DESERVE to not become wealthy, cos WHAT, they're just not "doing things right"?? They're not "putting enough effort"? Really.. wow...!! At the idea of meritocracy actually being a thing. That is peak privilege, and in many cases just internalized, classist self-hatred. You clearly don't understand how societal systems of power work. Cos "everyone" will NEVER achieve that, exactly because of those systems of power, definitely not cos of "bad choices" or "laziness"! Sure, choices matter, and we are creative beings! We may improve our situations, but it's not a given at all. It is ridiculous to believe that is all that's needed in this complex world. Many who subscribe to those beliefs have NO CLUE about the realities of those who aren't wealthy (and yet working HARDER). Yeah this sh riles me up, it is frankly so dumb, self-righteous and self- serving. "Eat the rich", the day WILL come, cos the less privileged been working our behinds OFF, to make others richer, while often staying closer to precariousness than wealth, even with some levels of increased comfort. Never punch down or sideways. Punch up. I hope everyone may learn what that means.

I feel as though so many trad wives live in such a different reality than most women do. I grew up in a small white New England town with less than 5000 people and I come from a lot of privilege and even with kids who came from well to do families BOTH parents still had to work. I don’t think I went to school with any kids whose mom stayed at home. A woman named the transformed wife is a housewife living in a very expensive home in a gated community in San Diego. She tells women to just downsize and be frugal but her and her husband certainly haven’t. It’s impossible for the average person in this economy to be a stay at home mom or even have the luxury of working part time. Also add in kids to that equation.

Children need their mother's and children should not to be dumped with a stranger at a daycare while mom is working an 8 hour shift and comes home tired and cranky.
Alot of people are having children later in life when they are able to afford them.
Some are choosing not to have children at all because the economy is absolutely horrible.

I’m a Mormon (well exMormon now) housewife of 5 kids. I’m the great grand daughter of Joseph Fielding Smith, gg granddaughter of Joseph F Smith, and ggg granddaughter of Hyrum Smith.
My husband does well but not through connections as his family is poor and not well connected. But with his Mormon work ethic he earns $300k (which is NOTHING compared to ballerina farm types) and I live a privileged life.
I also have no power and I’m kind of stuck. Leaving has ostracized me from my family and former community.
    My husband controls the finances.
My children all look like models and do all the extracurriculars.

This is so interesting. I grew up in a heavily Mormon populated area and my sister comverted for her husband. The work ethic is insane. My sister's husband- full ride Stanford engineer grad. His Mom had to take over family finances because his Dad became disabled... so what did she do... fast tracked nursing school with 5 KIDS, then take double overnight shifts in the ER to cover the entire family financially. I have so much respect for most Mormons as people (my sister is my best friend), but I don't agree with their beliefs/lifestyle/etc. I'd much rather pave my own way with some struggles in the process. I've seen so many Mormon's totally burn out and leave the church. It's too much pressure to be perfect.

Mormonism doesn’t equate wealth. I know active, faithful members on both sides of the coin.
The church’s focus is family. By marrying young people are forced to grow. By not having vices people have more time and money to “level up”. Are all rich Mormons self made? No, of course not. Like many other people in the world.
Having moved away from Utah, I can see people live in a bubble (call it religion, discipline or privilege). It is true, the amount of money the state has makes no sense compared to the size. There is something special that you just cannot explain about Utah. I’m sorry to say but Utah is THE place.

Privilege? You yourself said Mormon doctrine promotes hard work. You yourself admit the pioneers had to work hard to survive. That's privilege? Is it wrong for hard work to result in wealth? I thought that was the American dream. Is the American dream privilege based? You call it privilege because you seem to have some sour grapes about the wealth of members when you admit it comes from their community and hard work. That is the antithesis of privilege in my mind. It is the result of culture and value systems which allow wealth to grow. ... Something America seems to have forgotten. All Americans could be wealthy... and in fact are compared to the rest of the world. So if wealth is your determining factor then all Americans are privileged. But again, if all Americans followed the Church's example, we could all live comfortably, and have plenty to meet our needs. It is the CHOICE of many to expect to live off the efforts of others, taxpayers, etc, which is the main cause of poverty.

I know plenty of non-mormon people who work very hard every day, but they are not rich. It's very difficult out there, to get ahead financially. Mortgage, student loans, providing for a family is very expensive...most people don't have much left at the end of the month.

Life would just be easier with no religion in a communist country. Pure and simple. Why can’t we all just be the same?

Because it is a different kind of fascism, to deny people their own imaginations.
How would you enforce such a thing? Mandatory pharmaceuticals that block your ability to imagine? Who would want that world?
I want the freedom of creativity, for the good and the bad. If "spiritual" people were encouraged to make more art, instead of starting cults, maybe we would have already established a deeper and less fractured culture, in America.

I mean...really look at "cult" and "culture". Almost like a cult is a "cell" of a larger organ?
Communism, govt-enforced culture, is not what we need.
We NEED to stop consuming any art that asks for our money, and start deliberately creating culture outside of capitalism...and Zoomers...barely comprehend that concept.

Imagine doing a video titled “Why are Jews so rich.” But I guess you assume it’s ok because you are a former member? And no one cares about disparaging Mormons,am I right? That being said, I think your analysis wasn’t too shabby. Utah, and many members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, have become incredibly wealthy in a few generations due to hard work, sacrifice, networking, and good money management. I think you missed mentioning low crime rates, lower divorce rates, less lawsuits, better health due to our health code, and more trust of others, which all contributes to lower costs overall. Since moving from Utah I pay a lot more in insurance and theft prevention.
Was this just an informational video or are you insinuating something nefarious because many Latter-day Saints have become wealthy? I do think that money can corrupt and if you do become wealthy you have a duty to be very generous with your money, but are you a bad person if you become wealthy? Should you refuse to accept pay? Should a Latter-day Saint feel guilty because they were raised in a good home and taught a good work ethic, went to school, worked hard, stayed out of debt, married, stayed married, didn’t turn to substance use, became a valuable employee, and was compensated well for it?

Hm. So intact families within a larger culture that penalizes theft & dishonest dealings,
emphasizes hard work, avoids debt, looks down on ostentatious displays of wealth, encourages humility results in wealth and privilege.

No one is bringing criticism on families or strong work ethics. I think the ability to exploit someone else's labor. Also 1847-1900 when land was FREE and that is something that no matter how hard you work on 2024, that will NEVER happen. It's not a criticism but a social commentary

I don't know what you mean. Mormons are extremely EXTREMELY materialistic and dream of being rich for no work. Why do you think so many MLMs come out of Utah and Mormonism? I am Mormon and I actually avoid doing business with most (not all) Mormons because they are less honest than average. They really think any way to accumulate money is okay because they will do good when they get rich. Hint: they don't.

There are “intact” families with all the blah blah blah that aren’t rich af like the Mormons. This video is based on studies and data to support it
