      Hi. I was 21 when i saw them in 1978. It was so good. I love all these videos from 1976-1979. I love all of his videos, i only selected these years b/c of all the songs they did at these shows and how great the band was.

      Actually it's just turned 2024. Still relevant.,.sadly.

    • @brotherWesley
      @brotherWesley Před 6 měsíci

      @@dingodancerEven more relevant now than the sum of the amount of relevance 2 years ago (how does one properly quantify the degree or amount of relevance, pray tell? What label can be assigned? Unit? That'll work for now, but we 3 may have something we can monetize, you, me and our inspiration from down under, unless @dingodancer has the soul of an Aussie trapped in a body presently elsewhere.)
      Did I say "sum"? Let us instead get exponential here. This song has achieved a level of relevance heretofore undreamt of simply by virtue of the unexpected delay of the deluge. This song is now as relevant as its degree of relevance in 2022 raised to the power of its degree in 2021. That is quite a bit of relevance, and I'm not trying to annoy either of youor make light of the seriously messed up world we find ourselves in. This is the best version of the greatest song Jackson Browne has written yet, and that is saying something. I have looked often for the No Nukes performances since I first came to CZcams only to find these amazing performances perforated with propaganda....or public service announcements, I guess, depending on your geopolitical alignment. Damn it. I don't wish to argue politics or anything else with people with whom I share the angst of our zeitgeist. Jackson Browne has been my best and sometimes only friend since I first heard him, and I am 64.5 years of age. My mind, my spirit and my sense of hope are not even half that age, but due to my arthritis, much of the rest of my body is nearly 100. And the late, great David Lindley's performance on this version of this song was his greatest. My ex-bandmates and myself were surprised that David Lindley was not a member of The Immediate Family, since every member of that band of immortals was in the band that supported Jackson on his masterpiece "Running on Empty", except Steve, that young whippersnapper. If I am talking to myself now, or to people who may be younger and wonder what the hell I'm talking about and when I went off the rails, or even to people who know some of what I'm talking about but also wonder when I went off the rails, I apologize. I'm not off the rails. Yet. But if I'm talking to anyone who knows exactly what and who I'm talking about, I still apologize for this rant. It wasn't my intention to speechify or compose a book, but I tend to be effusive about those who and that which I love, so I can't really retract any thing I've said, but I do apologize for taking so long to completely agree with what you both said so succinctly.

    • @brotherWesley
      @brotherWesley Před 6 měsíci +1

      I think it is becoming more true every day, and this has been my favorite song since the 1st time I heard it in 1974. And you are also correct in your assessment of this as the definitive performance of this monument of a song. I was concerned that the audio track was ravaged by the propaganda injected into the video. Propaganda or public service announcements, I guess, depending on your current position along the geopolitical spectrum. It was butchery. But at least they didn't permanently destroy this unparalleled performance. And at least we didn't wait until David Lindley was gone to get a clue about it. David has always been Jackson's secret weapon. I don't know if you are aware of a secret little ditty, little known except over on the west coast. It's more vulgar than risque, and it's not quite 2 minutes long, but "You don't want me, you just want meat, you asshole you" is a riot If you're already offended, I apologize, and please don't report me. Jackson says he didn't write the song, but if he wrote "Rosie" (from Running on Empty), he wrote "You don't want me..". They are a little too similar in melody and content for me to believe they were written by different people.

    What a shame there are no more radio stations playing classic Album-Oriented Rock (AOR).
    These artists are not getting airplay anymore, therefore not continuing to earn royalties, not even on jukeboxes, which also provided them royalty income in the past.
    These days everybody's got their gadgets where they have to download music that can provide some royalty income for artists, but we can imagine that very few of them are even being downloaded because younger generations are virtually unaware that they existed or how much they contributed to musical history, inspiration, etc.
    I had the fortunate experience of seeing Jackson Browne play at Arcosanti in Arizona way back in the 70s.
