great job on the video this helps alot because i recently just started the laying the Italian tech tree and been struggling alot so thank you for the video
I think C.205 (especially serie 3 and N) and closer to a mix between Fw 190 and Bf 109. - From 190: Better armament and high-speed controllability, and a quite similar dependence on flaps. - From 109: The somewhat average top speed (at least at ground level it's not much better than a 109G-2), good energy retention and weak-ass (regarding survivability) DB-605 engine. And when it comes to the personal downside of the plane, I think the dependence on flaps makes it prone to lose energy quite easily if the pilot's not careful, and without energy the performance becomes really sluggish.
That's a very good analysis. Fun fact: the engineer behind the fw190, kurt tank said that he preferred the re2005 and not the c.205. Its funny cause they are the direct opposite from each other
@@HeyImKatyusha The Germans in general performed a test of all main "5-series" fighters, and overall they favoured the Re.2005 and G.55. Military Aviation History made a video on the protocols of the testing a while back
@@MDzmitry well after the spitfire mk9 got into service, German pilots got a big problem. The performance got so similar, that pure aerodynamics didn't do it anymore. Something like the g55 or re2005 would have given the spitfire more of challenge, while fw190 or bf109 could fight the p51s. The g56 was the perfect answer for both problems, that's why the Germans wanted it so badly
@@HeyImKatyusha to be fair, the primary reason for why the Germans were interested in G.55 was the airframe's modernization potential. Because when you look at Bf 109 it was, well, "a bit overstretched". And in G.55 they saw a fighter similar to Bf 109G, but with far more room inside for new engines, weaponry and whatever else they'd come up with
@@MDzmitry I always wonder if germany gave italy FW190 engine to refit G.50 and C.200 and as well with 20m cannons might be better solution for a fighter , since G.50 airframe was a very good for its time reminds me a bit of La-5 but metal.
At high alt yes. At low alt it's slow and turning makes it even worse. Thats the same case with the g55. Both planes are great energy fighter when at high alt, but at low alt their turn carries
As myself Italian air main, i scored 10 kills with C.202 i can tell playing italy makes you use every brain cell you got especially with M.E.C. and avoid getting hit at all costs. Also always use WEP appropriate to prop pitch and radiators to keep white state temperature.
Thank you once more for an amazing guide! Should the XP50 also be played like a Turn fighter? I seem to struggle with it because it's fuselage and Motors burn easily while shot 😅
im sorry to tell you, but i hate xp50. not cause the plain itself is op or anything, but i think that this plane makes people dumb. you get a air spawn and outclimb everything, slowing the whole game down without reason. if you really want to get better, use planes without airspawn, so you improve being in situations you not always have the advantage
I have a theory that mg151s on Italian planes do less damage, especially now. They feel like real shatter mg151s, while the ones in the german tree hit so hard. Might just be me
Many thanks for this enlightening video. Any tips on a site that explains MEC, to me its too much settings to cope with, pitch, radiator, mixture...? Thanks for any tips.
the real problem with the g55 and re 2005 (that I personally hate) is that they overheat really quickly unlike the c205 s3. Do you think this rapid overheat is historically accurate?
its the g2 engine so overheating should be a thing, but like i said in the video the engine perfomrance is different from the germans. in the bf109g2 you have a engine based on the rpm. that means you dont need to care about pitch. in italian planes you need to do it by hand. that also gives you the option to adjust pitch so you dont overhear. if your pitch is 90-95% you shuldnt have problems
to be honest, i dont think bomber, interceptors or attacker need a guide. it should be clear what they do and what their purpose is or how to play them
the problem with the sweden line is that 50% is just copy pasted from other nations. the only real wedish plane is the j21 and its bad in everything besides head ons

that depends on the plane. for most german 20mm i used 400m with vertical. now i use 600m with vertical cause i know where to aim at range now
Ok thanks
