Hi Rina! If you’re planning on working for a computer, then you will need a 3 or 4 year degree in fashion design. But if you’re planning to start your own brand or company, then yes, you can start right out of 10th.

I have been working as a textile designer (seamless pattern, illustrator and photoshop, all things fabric design- not garment) and i cannot find any good textile designer work. Can i become a fashion designer?or sre there any other field in fashion and textiles that i can research and work towards? I love clothing and fabric, so i want to stick to this field only. What would u suggest? Thankyou in advance❤for all ur amazing content

Hey Prisha! So glad you find the channel helpful! To answer your question- it depends on what position you’re gonna take up in the business. You could do a degree in fashion design to learn the ropes. It will be helpful for sure but I don’t think it’s necessary as such. Especially if you will be hiring a team of designers under you to design for your label and not designing yourself. Brand management will be better if you’re gonna take on a managerial role.

Actually, I am in middle of my BMS degree(I took it up because I wasn’t sure of doing fashion des before) But now as I have decided I am looking forward to be a designer, entrepreneur plus managing the social media of the business. And thinking of doing a masters in fashion design from mumbai itself. And after that Brand manag. from abroad. Ik it looks a bit complicated 😅 but that’s how some career paths are decided. Just want your opinion on this decision!
