Their is PLENTY of funding available from the FEDS now. This is a bunch of BS from the school district .it’s the school districts responsibility to either renovate or demolish this building. It’s a complete BLIGHT on this neighborhood .
This is so sad! Growing up there, So many children would go there for family swim and all kinds of activities that are desperately needed in that area.
First words I heard was "Eastside" then I understood. However, it's the residents in that area who continue to vote in the same politician or like minded individual. The school district has failed to maintain the property, upgrade it, and keep it secure. Patrols around the property is not enough. Locks are not enough. It is the school districts responsibility to insure the safety around their property and board hasn't lived up to that task. We may blame the school board but it's the citizens who elected these non-qualified individuals to the board. Sure, it's easy to blame others but one day we have to take responsibility and say, "wait, I voted for that idiot!"
Fire the Superintendent and recall the the school board. They've known this has been a problem for years if not decades.

So Tacoma hasn't addressed the problem and last week it was burned down 2 years later
