its actually a pump action clutch, i know because i also got one :)
Not R, but it is 2011 model year, last year of gen 3 which has many common parts with R version, e.g. throttle body, black calipers and other minor details.

Jak w każdym KTM - "co tydzień coś nowego" ;) Ogólnie spoko, najczęstsze usterki tego konkretnego silnika (654ccm) to dźwignie zaworowe, tzw. rocker arms - wyrabiają się łożyska w rolkach dźwigni i zaczyna się klekotanie. Czasami padają też napinacze łańcucha rozrządu - też klekoczą, są dostępne manualne zamienniki, ja kupiłem ori hydrauliczny (automatyczny). Bywają problemy z elektroniką przepustnicy, ale to zdecydowanie rzadziej. Po każdej ingerencji w dolot lub wydech konieczna jest zmiana mapy, bo zaczynają się problemy z gaśnięciem i szarpaniami, ale to nie problem, bo jest dużo gotowych map do różnych konfiguracji, TuneEcu ogarnia przez OBD2. Olej tylko 10W60, wymieniam co 2-3kkm razem z 2 wkładami filtrów + czyszczenie 2 filtrów ekranowych (z metalowej siatki). Poza tym dzik okrutny, polecam :)

@@pawl00 siema posiadam ten sam model z 2011 roku chyba jeden z ostatnich duke III, zauwazylem ze napisales o szarpaniu i piszesz zeby mapowac po kazdej wymianie tlumika ... nigdy nie mapowalem i nigdy nie wymienialem tlumika, a szarpie ... zamowilem regulator napiecia (akurat mialem po kosztach) starego nie sprawdzalem ale zgadalem sie kiedys u fryzjera xd z typem i akurat on mial dokladnie ten sam model i dokladnie ten sam problem i wlasnie okazal sie regulator skopany ... ps moglbys podeslac jakas stronke do tych map chcialbym cos wiecej o tym poczytac dzieki ps. pieknie ci ktmka brzmi :)

Nothing special. I had a problem after changing the exhaust and intake, engine sporadically stalls at idle. The solution was to change the map.

I am a KTM Smc R driver and am considering switching to a duke.

Before I bought this Duke I was thinking about the SMC. The engines of the same years of production of both models are basically the same. The Duke is definitely more comfortable and definetely better position for the driver. After changing the windshield to an accessory, as in the movie, much greater protection from the wind, which is useful for longer trips. It's still powerful and wild bike, like every 690 ;) I recommend strongly. The "R" Dukes have bigger engine capacity - real 690ccm instead 654ccm and have a little more power. Later the 4th generation Duke was 690ccm.
@@pawl00 hello, what about a 690 SMR, the one with the "beak" headlight and twin exhausts? What are their differences?
@@MuhammadIrfan-ml2nj Once I read that these models have different camshafts, I'm not sure if that's true. These 2 bikes have many common parts but suspesnion is definitely different. From what I remember in SM, only the Prestige version had radial brake and clutch pumps. Duke has this as standard since 2008. There are probably even more differences, but I haven't delved into it ;)

Na grupie Duke'a jest gość co ma 198cm i opisywał właśnie, że ten model wychodził z 3 wysokościami siedzeń i dla niego tylko z tym najwyższym jest wygodnie. Musiałbyś się przymierzyć.
