Excellent reaction! As an opera lover myself, I agree with you about what might have been done a bit differently (particularly the rolling of the R's), but I can also be pretty easy. Adam is truly just phenomenal and that rendition was completely spontaneous (he just broke into it during soundcheck). It was really a gutsy move, they take their opera so seriously in Bologna, yet he completely blew the roof off! The accompaniments were fantastic and the way Brian and Roger looked at Adam with such pride and adoration was just the cherry on top! Gotta love them all!
I am happy to be alive just to hear and watch the talent of this magnificent singer. Truly the best on the planet.

When he was a teen, he studied opera for 6-months he said. He's only sung it 3 times since and doesn't remember all the lyrics or the phrasing. Adam is SPECIAL. He is a GFG. Brian and Roger call him GFG - Gift from God - b/c he has a once in a generation voice AND they had no plans of doing world tours. SIMON COWELL did something right. He had Queen come over for the Amer Idol finale in 2009. History was made!!!!

He makes me smile and yes, he can sing about anything. As he gets older, I'd love to hear him sing a variety of music genres: Broadway, opera, jazz, blues.
He did this on a spur of the moment during sound check in Bologna. He then said let's do it during the concert! AMAZING

Stunning performance. He's an incredible performer. I also love his version of Cher's Believe and his version of Marry the night in Glee.
He only sang this the two nights they were in Bologna on the tour. He said he did some opera training when he was a teen for a year. During their sound check he sang this and the band decided to add it to their set since they were in the birthplace of Italy. I for one am always happy to see more Adam Lambert. He has so many live performances to choose from. There are a couple that he performed on the James Corden show. On the Moon he did from home with just a guitar accompaniment and Closer to You he did in the studio with just the piano accompaniment. I know you can't only do Adam but when you can maybe check these out. There is a really great opera singer Samuel Marino that is a male soprano. He would be fun to see you react to.

This was unrehearsed... just a warm-up exercise the band decided to perform. So utterly amazing to conjure this from almost nothing.
Adam Lambert has said that he only did it for two shows in Italy since it's really hard to do. Hes said it was a spur of the moment decision and if they were to do it again, he'd have to train but overall, very good.
I love the sound of his voice! The notes are all clear, ringing, and fully supported by the breath. You could probably put him in front of an orchestra with very little additional work and I'm sure he could do quite well.
You are sooo right. To appreciate Adam’s strength accompanied by a full orchestra try Lay Me Down done live at the Avicci Tribute Concert. It is superb!!

This was put in last minute just because Adam suddenly sang it at rehearsal, so its off the cuff, just foor thhd Italian audience. How many singers can do that.
Thank you for this lovely reaction. Adam studied opera for a year when he was a teen and this was his favourite song. They performed this only during their two shows in Bologna (which in my mind takes guts in a country that knows and loves its opera). Adam said they sang it during rehearsals and then decided to add it to the show.
Also online is Adam performing "Come to Me Bend to Me" from a touring production of Brigadoon he was in when he was 22, complete with a Scottish brogue. It's only audio but so sublime. Well worth reacting to.

Adam is truly one of the best male singers not just of his generation, but of all time. He can sing anything, and his technique is impeccable. HIs breath support and control on his instrument is unmatched by anyone who fashions themselves as a popular singer. Georgina, I agree with you on the Italian pronunciation.

Agree on everything except his Italian phrasing. Bologna is, I’m told, the birthplace of opera, and I read that many from the audience found Adam’s Italian to be perfect.

Thank you, thank you for reacting to this new performance by Adam Lambert. Adam was warming up for the Queen show that evening and sang this piece. Brian May asked him to sing it during the show that evening since they were in Italy. Very little rehearsal. He did a slightly different version the following night!! Yes! I love your reactions to Adam, and this performance was an incredible gift to the Italian folks at the QAL concert. One thing I'm loving is the deepening and richness of his lower range as he ages. I've seen a much younger performance that he did of this aria, and his lower range was not as mature. Such a gorgeous performance.

Adam's voice is truly a thing of wonder, no matter what style he sings in or the occasional technical shortcomings. Thanks for this honest reaction!!!! Adam is fabulous indeed, so full of surprises. This was a spontaneous performance, a gift to the Queen's Italian fans in Bologna. Adam started singing this song during the sound check, Brian and Roger loved it and decided to include it during the concert. The fans were ecstatic, they started chanting "Adam, Adam..." at the end of the song. What a beautiful moment.

Adam did study Opera but only briefly. That may explain why he did it slightly differently than expected for a rock audience.

Georgina, I have had a tough week and this put an enormous smile on my face. Of all the people that I wanted to react to this, you were the one I wanted to do it. Thus far not many have, and from the two that I have seen react to it, one of them blatantly body shamed Adam and was completely against him because he is gay. I was so horrified by that persons comments about Adam (and he used the video to also talk about Queen Elizabeth and her family in a disgusting way that should not be repeated) that I have absolutely no qualms in saying I reported him and he had to remove his channel. He spoke very ill about the LGTBQ community in my opinion and did not deserve a platform. Back to Adam. If you take the "Vincero" bit and time it alongside Pavarotti, he holds the notes exactly the same amount of time. I just knew you would appreciate this performance, which btw, was completely impromptu on Adam's behalf as they were in Italy. An homage, if you will. Btw, see how you made me feel better. Thank you.
I totally agree with you. Georgina reacted to the performance of the song , as she should have , and found it to be as enjoyable as we all have. Those who come to the table determined to find fault WILL find them. Who hasn’t gained the covid20?? Adam himself acknowledged his gain and I respect him for it. None of his detractors have commented on his loss over the length of this grueling tour. He looked wonderful and sounded even better. They should have commented on how wonderful it is to see this iconic group back on stage where they belong. I thoroughly enjoyed each and every performance that posters were kind enough to share. Q+AL is my favorite throughout the years. We are lucky to have them.
@@joannemagee1363 Apologies. I only just saw your response. I am the original poster of the comment, just responding from a different device. Totally agree with you too. I could not believe that person had not been reported yet. I normally would not report anyone on CZcams but gosh I just had to in that case. He had absolutely no critique about the song or Adam's singing, just spoke really badly about his looks and pretty much indicated his homophobia, all while wearing an actual barristers wig himself, I might add. I don't mind someone criticizing someone's talent, but I have never seen what was meant to be a "music reaction" video being used to blatantly hate on someone for his looks and sexuality. He had to post one more video afterwards to say that he had to end the channel because someone was being mean to him by reporting him... You're right about the weight gain during Covid. I used to be so thin that people actually asked me if I had anorexia or asked if I was getting food, was my husband not perhaps eating all my food, etc. At the time I weighed 59kg. I have gone up to 75.5kg. I am actually happy with my weight now to be honest. Just need to get fit again and muscle tone a bit. And yes, people are so quick to point out when someone gains weight but it's not so news worthy when they lose it. So happy Georgina looks past all that nonsense. She is actually the only reactor I actually believe when she reacts to something.

Adam came to public attention as a finalist on American Idol where he was placed 2nd to a generic country singer. Adam was just to flamboyant and gay for middle America. He is certainly one of the best ever vocalists to emerge from any music talent show either side of the Atlantic- I would put him in the same bracket as Jennifer Hudson. What most folks don't know is that prior to entering AI he had a family successful career on Broadway having appeared in a number of hit musicals. His theatrical background has stood him in good stead as his PERFORMANCE of each song really makes him unique amongst his generation of pop/rock singers. I saw perform live with Queen a few years back and there is no one better suited to carefully preserve the legacy of Freddie Mercury. His ballad version of Cher's Believe during the Kennedy Center Honors a few years ago is a terrific iconic performance. Frustratingly his solo career has never quite caught fire. He deserves so much more success and recognition. Another interesting fact is Adam's a "ginger" who like that other music talent show performer Rylan Clark, dyes his hair jet black.

This performance was done with one rehearsal. Adam has stated that they decided that morning to do this since they were performing in Italy.
Adam Lambert is great! When Queen announced that he will sing for them I was skeptical, but he really has proven himself. I'm not surprised that he also did well with a classical song!
On another note: Since everyone is now talking about fellow Brit Jamie Campbell Bower after Stranger Things (and his voice in it - here an unedited recording, but spoilers for ST: czcams.com/video/CYXxBGKrlLw/video.html) and is a singer as well, I'd be SUPER interested in a vocal coach talking about his singing. I'm just someone, who enjoys music, so I don't know much about the technical aspect, but I find it extremely interesting and love your videos.
In Jamie's case it's great that his first role at the tender age of 18 was Anthony in Sweeney Todd (czcams.com/video/4yFPYFcVZfE/video.html), so we can see how his voice and singing changed over the years (he even did a rendition of Johanna again in 2020 at age 31, so it's directly comparable - czcams.com/video/yZShDSPt8m4/video.html). His own music is pretty interesting to me, especially his song Paralysed (czcams.com/video/Dq_bP6H_InI/video.html) feels like he shows his range and different techniques - people in the comments compared his voice to Peter Murphy and Brian Molko, which is fun, because they are so different.
If you're looking for a video that doesn't cause problems with copyright, you could also use his cover of Chris Stapleton's Fire Away (czcams.com/video/qlJaBxiu5iQ/video.html) - I like that we can also hear his (relaxed) speaking voice in the beginning.
