They should bring back the tree on pavement glitch, BUT integrate it as something you can only do if it's planted on gravel (and other paths that make sense). Many people decorate trees with a gravel shape around it, so they could add a new path material just for that (and for those who would want gravel paths).
These events work in a way that it's gonna come back again. It happens ever national museum day, so once a year. It's like bunny day. They're not like a temporary update. But even if it wouldn't be coming back, I wouldn't care because it's boring. You do it once and its the same thing every time.
The star fragment trees was and still is the most upsetting removal. Made your island so much prettier and vibrant. People upset about others having them take this game too seriously
If you look at the wiki for mystery tours finned island is different than the new big fish island. Finned island is just a looped river whereas big fish island is a looped river but also has a waterfall and a river output
to be fair fixing something is quicker than creating something.. plus the slow update was because they don't want the game artists to be overworked so that's worth the wait
Sorry to Nintendo but limiting so much things that make customization more creative and easy in a game like acnh doesn't make sense. It is not a competitive game, it is a slice of life kind of game.
I know they've made like a whole online economy and ate probably trying to keep from messing that up, but it's sad they're making it even harder for single players to get things they need
Another thing they took off is when you would get a message or something on the Nook Phone their would be a beep noise but they took it off. This beep happened if someone removed or added you to the BFF app
they definitely took out "big fish" island because of the hybrids, there is actually a second "big fish" island that doesn't have hybrids that is still accessible, it's the one where the river is ring-shaped with just a tiny cliff area. maybe they also got rid of the first one because there was a lot more cliff area so like you said, easier to get stringfish since only big shadows would spawn, but there is still a big fish island.
I found Goldie as my 8th villager on the hybrid flower island, she just popped out from behind the flowers. Never believed a game could make me cry like this!
What I don’t understand is that this is meant to be a fun game for people to be creative with their islands, yet a lot of these patches are just taking that away. The players are literally showing nintendo what they want from the game, so why not make them legitimate features? Also why change events? It sucks for newer players who didn’t get a chance to play them and now doesn’t exactly encourage people to buy the game...
Nintendo has a long history of this. They were even sued for intentionally not allowing sega to be sold next to their product. We wanted to twitch stream their games that was a no, people wanted a competitive splatoon that was a no, dude actually made a weird tea reference and said to not give people what they want if it’s dumb, Bluetooth no, easy coding for 3rd party no, voice chat HELL no, access to amiibo no. They are fixing to be hurting when China starts selling switch card readers that plug into steam deck and work with with open source software. Or emulators become a norm. Nintendo refused to accept their audience grew up and kids don’t give two shits about Mario, Zelda, Kirby, AC or Samsus. Kids play DBD, Roblox, and COD.
I hate that they made things harder for people who time travel. I don't have enough time to play the game without doing so, so it just ruined the experience for me. I haven't touched the game in months because I just don't have the time to spend hours grinding for bells. We should all be able the play the game the way we want to.
What did they do against time traveling? I usually play on the weekends and go back to Monday to "play through the week" so I don't miss important things (mainly Redd, Kicks, and events), and I've not had any problems. Not even with my turnips, though there's a trick for that. I do agree though that the game seems geared for people who play 24/7 though. Like turnips. How am I supposed to check the price in the mornings and evenings when I have to leave for work at 7 but the store opens at 8. I have to adjust the time in order to check turnip prices. I just miss on the morning prices and hope for the best, just not worth the effort.
Don't see how, Its fairly easy to make a decent amount of bells by just selling all the fossils for the day and planting money trees in the glowing spots. Enough to buy items from the stores etc if you're just a casual player.
ok but i missed halloween so i tried to go back and play it but jack didn't show up or anything and i was like ms girl if i don't get the emotions from halloween next year ima throw hands
@@LadyPharyn Yeah, I've heard a lot about how crazy Bunny Day was last year. And I don't think they could have made a creepier mascot for it if they tried...
I had the opportunity to go to a hybrid flower island and the big fish island. I caught my first oarfish there. I’m really glad that they didn’t remove the money rock island. That island was really cool especially if you needed some extra bells.
With the Nature Day nook miles I feel it gave you an incentive to use the items the game give you, and it would be a really nice addition if the other holidays had nook mile activities as well
Maybe they could have a new merchant who’s like the hybrid flower version of Redd? Like, she sells flowers and only flowers, but which ones she sells are completely random, and they cost a lot more bells than normal, and she shows up about as often as Redd, but she has a random chance of selling hybrid flowers. Heck, if Nintendo really wants us to jump through hoops, there could even be some extra nuance, like you can only get one each time she visits, or maybe she only accepts nook miles tickets or only shows up if it’s raining or something.
I missed out on the hybrid islands, but it's not a big deal to me since it's easy to breed some flowers and you can just dig one you don't have from other players that are happy to share. Though I wanna say Nintendo really is taking too much enjoyment, patching glitches/mods that don't break the game. Only patch out what does. If it's glitches and mods that seem to be enjoyable and help with convenience or better decorations, then let it be a main function in the game. I think making star fragments grow from trees would of helped get the fragments needed to craft Celeste DIYs if one wanted a bunch of those type of items for whatever reason and the fragments on trees look great for decorations alone.
Trees in pathways do make sense, as I've seen them in places, but you could probably still have the one spot that is dirt so you can plant your trees. I've done this with palm trees and sand spots.
Shame Nintendo removed the hybrid islands. Never got a chance to see them myself. Would make more sense and make it much more interesting if they added MORE mystery islands rather than remove them or better yet adding in actual randomly generated mystery islands.
I think the hybrid and fish island being removed makes sense because it’s a bit op, but the rareness makes up for it in my opinion. So I think they should have stayed.
I would be nice if nintendo just game you the action of hanging star fragments on hardwood trees like fairy lights no more than 3 at a time since those types of trees don't have anything on them and it would be great to use as a more natural looking lamp than a street lamp or the giants mushrooms. On that permanent christmas light on trees would be nice too. Like you buy a christmas light box and can use it on you house, fences or on trees by choosing decorate standing in front of what you want to decorate or something. It would be a nice addition.
I stopped going on NMT after they removed the hybrid island. I found it a few times before they removed it and after they did I have maybe gone on 2 or 3 tours and I've been playing literally every day since April 1st 2020 Edit: star frag trees should have been made real. Just let us plant stars in the gold spot instead of bells. Many players, including myself, have more bells than we know what to do with, and the money tree isn't really worth it anymore. Star trees would be a nice alternative to money trees
so that’s why i never found hybrid island...Im still having difficulties growing blue roses, green mums, black cosmos, purple wind flowers, and if theres purple pansies those as well and it’s starting to get annoying
If you have online, I can give you all of those for free. After a year of trying, I finally just bought them to clone and now I'm loaded with them! Except black cosmos... Ugh
why am I just now learning about hybrid flower Island being removed?? that's how I got my pink/blue wind flowers 🥺 I was so excited too, cause I had no idea it was a thing
I miss the broken spawn rates from the first month or so of the game's release. I could fill my entire inventory with peacock butterflies in less than half an hour. And I haven't been able to catch a barreleye fish since then, when I caught 4.
"A bit strange, can't really grow trees on concrete" MY BOY, we live on an island with talking human animals and can catch a whole ass shark like nobody's business. I think trees on pavement should have a pass.
It might be because I’m a new player to the AC series but Nintendo seems super intent on sucking the fun out of their game. Like some of the things that they end up patching out or removing feels kind of dumb and just removes any interest if playing the game for that long.

The star trees were so pretty, if they made it possible to plant 10 star frag in gold dig & only get three back it would eliminate risk of farming & make it a purely aesthetic thing
I remember getting a hybrid flower island the first week of the game! I took home lots of flowers and it had a lot of rare butterflies flying around. Unfortunately these flowers were coded differently and couldn’t be bred to make more flowers. Maybe that’s why it was removed? Code complications?
Hmm, a fix for the trees on pathways could be tree planter boxes. Like a vase… but bigger. There’s always a small box around the base of a tree in city areas. Could be cool
i got to the hybrid island once, like 3 days into the game, back when no one had any idea how rare it had been. I miss it ... those hybrids bread like crazy
They also made it more difficult to get tarantulas and scorpions. I remember I used to make tarantula islands out of mystery islands, but since they changed the spawn rate of the water bug (idk if they messed with the spawn rate of tarantulas/scorpions too) it made it much harder to actually get them to make tons of bells easy.
9:40 Actually I believe they didn’t use that glitch! The shrubs cover up the grass pretty well when placed next to a custom path so it sorta gives off the effect that its planted onto the path when it’s actually not lol.
Oh one other thing, once you have your hybrids, when you water (or wait for rain) a patch you'll often get more of the same but sometimes the parent plant will show. Its really quite relaxing and fun!
i actually found one of those rare flower islands on my third island trip, got a bunch of black and pink roses and brought them home, now i have tons on my island
@@smashbrosguyt915 i know, super lucky. at first i only was able to bring 5 home because of inventory space but accedentally grew a bunch more when i placed them next to my other roses
That explains why I haven't been able to get back to Hybrid Flower Island. It was my favorite island, I bought so many tickets to try to get there. Especially at night when all the emperor butterflies were out. It was beautiful. I got a bunch of roses from that island. The orange roses I got from there gave me blue roses, and my home-grown oranges weren't giving me any. So that was a huge help.
Earth day nook miles can have 2 reasons why it was removed 1. It was not always working as intended, I for one got only small rewards, at best 300 (no multiplier) so it was just a drag in the end, but also for some players (also me) it kept showing up for a few months instead of the intended limited time. 2. Nook mile tickets are being used as currency for online buying of stuff, I can image Nintendo wanting to put a stop to that by removing big gain actions like earth day nook miles (especially as there are quiet a few hackers out who get items to spawn that were not intended to be used in the games, bugged items, Nintendo tends to do a lot of stuff to bring an end to hacking games)
On the topic of star trees, there are two very important reasons as to why they were forced to remove them. The lesser of the two reasons is that there was an influx of reports coming from users who would go to dream addresses with star trees. With enough reports, the islands will be taken down even if the user never actually cheated. It takes a lot of reports as I have found it is easier to be punished for inappropriate content more than cheating. To minimize these reports, star trees would have to go down. The second reason, which is far more damaging, is that the star trees are actually avenues for potentially griefing islands or permanently making inaccessible spots. The reason for this is that star fragments weren't the only items that could be placed on the trees. ALL items could be placed on the trees. You could put presents on trees, pearls on trees, trees on trees. It sounds like a great time! however, if you were to actually put something like a present and someone shakes the tree, you've potentially put your game in danger if you were to pick up the present. The present would actually be stuck in your inventory unable to be sold or opened. Some people have figure out how to get those removed by gifting the gifts to villagers, but if there were to be something you couldn't use that method with, then it's stuck in your inventory forever. Also, if you put items that could be placed such as furniture or otherwise then gave a shake, it would automatically place the furniture item whether you were online or not. This would become a problem for those who wish to troll friends or if hackers wanted to drop a tree to any unsuspecting user. Many of those trading star trees at the time did not think to troll and would instead just give them away. While star trees were seemingly safe, the risk of malicious users was too high to keep available.
Bob's Gang The next thing they're going to patch out is placing stuff on the 4th tier. Which is going to make me sad when they finally take it away because I have a nice little snowy peak on my island that I love.
I'm pretty sure I know why hybrid island was removed. 1, if the flower you had spawn here was roses, they would be hybrid oranges with a 1 in 4 chance of producing blue roses, which gave a very unfair advantage toward players who started with roses. 2. Very rare butterflies spawned here, making it almost as valuable as tarantula island if you knew what you were doing
Crossing Channel, “Hybrid Flower Island was very rare and hard to get to.” Also Crossing Channel, “I’ve been to Hybrid Flower Island many times and got 1,000s of flowers.”
I really wish I could put a tree right up against a cliff. I know how to do the thing where the tree is right on the edge, but I'd love the option to block a cliff side with trees right up against the second or third levels.
I noticed another feature they have removed that I never see anyone talk about! You used to be able to plant trees right next to the plaza, but now they have to be at least one square away. I still have a few trees I planted right against the plaza waaaaay back when it was possible, and I refuse to dig them up lol. Bob's gang!

@@PaulineTheSupreme LMAO same i thought you just had to pick it smh
@@geraldine203 Yess!! Omg we were SO WRONG hahahahaha
They should bring back the tree on pavement glitch, BUT integrate it as something you can only do if it's planted on gravel (and other paths that make sense). Many people decorate trees with a gravel shape around it, so they could add a new path material just for that (and for those who would want gravel paths).
Or just being back the glitch as it was and have them mind their own damn business lol
Nintendo: “Sorry we took your Star Trees away… here’s a Star Fragment island from Kappin instead.”
This! I just went there and was in shock after hitting the rock!! ⭐️😻💚😺
I now have more star fragments that I know what to do with.
And you get 8 fragments instead of just 3!
They also removed this thing called the Camera Trick, but then put it back in as an official feature because fans were complaining
What’s the camera trick?
@@Salemscreep I'm pretty sure it was a glitch that let you hide the hud in the camera app
@@MrMoon-hy6pn Really? I didn't notice they ever removed it.
I kinda want them to bring back the museum stamp day! And just add in more mini games.
Yeah that was so much fun! More games and variety for the rewards you'll get would also be amazing.
@@Ekrillex I’ve never gotten to experience the museum stamp day but it seems really fun so hopefully we can have it in the future
I read an article recently that said they were planning on bringing back the museum stamp day event, so let’s hope that’s true XD
Yesss that was fun lol
These events work in a way that it's gonna come back again. It happens ever national museum day, so once a year. It's like bunny day. They're not like a temporary update. But even if it wouldn't be coming back, I wouldn't care because it's boring. You do it once and its the same thing every time.
Crossing channel: I'll link Mayor Mori's video in the description
Me: Am I...not watching Mayor Mori?
The star fragment trees was and still is the most upsetting removal. Made your island so much prettier and vibrant. People upset about others having them take this game too seriously
I just wish Nintendo would take it as a sign, remove the glitch and then add something to the game so you can actually grow them/buy them legit
Tbf I get why nintendo would want to remove them considering people who got them ran the risk of their game being bricked
why must you torture me with the 2pm music???

Ahahahah omg yes nighttime music would've been a better choice
@@oliviallau LMFAO WHY IS THIS SO FUNNY 😭
The music I hate, personally, is the 6pm music. Way too repetitive.
There is still a big fish island, it just looks different and doesn’t have hybrid flowers. I’ve visited it like three times 😂
I think it's called finned island now
@@rileylupus4781 i thought that there had always been fin island so there used to be fin island and big fish island.
If you look at the wiki for mystery tours finned island is different than the new big fish island. Finned island is just a looped river whereas big fish island is a looped river but also has a waterfall and a river output
Me too.

ACNH when there’s an update🐌
Unfortunately that is VERY true. C'mon 2.0!
@@Nemesiswiththesauce this aged well lmao
fr 2.0 took a year and a half to come out
to be fair fixing something is quicker than creating something.. plus the slow update was because they don't want the game artists to be overworked so that's worth the wait
This was also removed when animal crossing came out there was a “dress up” category in the closets but now it’s gone for some reason
this rings a bell omg what was it?
That’s because they changed it to be a costume category for halloween, I believe, and they just kept that name for it
It’s still there I played it yesterday
Sorry to Nintendo but limiting so much things that make customization more creative and easy in a game like acnh doesn't make sense. It is not a competitive game, it is a slice of life kind of game.
I know they've made like a whole online economy and ate probably trying to keep from messing that up, but it's sad they're making it even harder for single players to get things they need
Yes! I had to buy so many Items because I just did not find the Recipe for them!
I literally just searched about all of the islands earlier and the list still had the flower and big fish shadow islands on them🥺 My heart😫💔
I came across hybrid flower island only once, and it's sad to know that I'll never be able to go back again T-T
Same, why Nintendo why?!
Lucky you, never been, never can go now
I found Goldie as my 8th villager on the hybrid flower island, she just popped out from behind the flowers. Never believed a game could make me cry like this!

Is no one gonna talk about how Bob wanted to leave!?!? 🥺
he’s my baby boy, he’s asked to leave like 5 times and i’ve stopped him but i feel kind of bad keeping him against his will like that 🥺😭
What I don’t understand is that this is meant to be a fun game for people to be creative with their islands, yet a lot of these patches are just taking that away.
I just miss on the morning prices and hope for the best, just not worth the effort.
what is it that made it harder for you? I time travel regularly and don't have any issues...
@@juliaweeks186 this is late but i found out you have to be connected to wifi for him to come, even if you time travel

Big fish island is still a thing. It's called fin island now

I've been using so many tickets trying to get that rare flower island over the last week! I'm so glad I saw this.
Same. I was trying so hard to get all of the rare islands.
Well. Now I feel bad for yelling at Wilbur for not at least taking me to hybrid flower island when villager hunting. 👀
I got the big fish island when it was raining - so, so many coelacanth. Probably funded some of my house updates.
The duplication glitch in the first few weeks of the game was the wildest imo. Some of my family members still have millions of bells from that
I've never seen or knew about star trees, but now I miss the idea of them. They were pretty.
the star trees was VERY BIG in the community ppl legit got upset about them being patched
They were so pretty, but not pretty enough to hack my switch for.
@@CloverPillbug same here they were but i knew they were a hacked item so i didnt went threw the hassle to get one
I remember I found that hybrid Island once and it was also full of emperor butterflies. It was so beautiful and I never saw it again =/
The hybrid flower island is how I got my first hybrids! I'm sad it's gone. :(
I missed out on the hybrid islands, but it's not a big deal to me since it's easy to breed some flowers and you can just dig one you don't have from other players that are happy to share.
What if flower island is so rare no one has found it yet...😳
Changelogs.
Lol.
Man, I'm so upset I didn't take a picture of when I wound up on a hybrid flower island q.q
Dont worry... im with u 😭😭😭 Wish I took pics too , regret it so much nw
Trees in pathways do make sense, as I've seen them in places, but you could probably still have the one spot that is dirt so you can plant your trees. I've done this with palm trees and sand spots.
I found Tutu on a hybrid island. Such a cool find. She hasn’t left my island for that very reason
I found hybrid island! My island is covered in pink and blue windflowers cause I dug a bunch up :D
I found it a few times before they removed it and after they did I have maybe gone on 2 or 3 tours and I've been playing literally every day since April 1st 2020
Edit: star frag trees should have been made real. Just let us plant stars in the gold spot instead of bells. Many players, including myself, have more bells than we know what to do with, and the money tree isn't really worth it anymore. Star trees would be a nice alternative to money trees
Yes, Stringfish and Golden Trout only appear in the higher levels of your island. Also they're a pain in the butt to catch.
Me with mostly flat island : 👁👄👁
Yeah, waterfall on the highest level.
I only got those buggers 1 time each.
@@hippieduck I got two golden trouts in quick succession after about 250 baits wasted.

God dang there’s so much I’m still learning about this game.
"We all love to fish!....Well actually I'm kind of terrible at it and it gives me anxiety..."
Ok I'm glad I'm not the only one
I'm alright with it, but I don't like to fish at all lol. I only fish when there are ones that I don't have yet
thats essentially what i do lol. Villager asks me to catch them a specific fish? .....No
so that’s why i never found hybrid island...Im still having difficulties growing blue roses, green mums, black cosmos, purple wind flowers, and if theres purple pansies those as well and it’s starting to get annoying
Green mums are easy!! Get purple mums and/or hybrid yellow mums and put them together, you’ll have green mums in no time!
i can give you a purple windflower and green mum to clone:)
If you have online, I can give you all of those for free. After a year of trying, I finally just bought them to clone and now I'm loaded with them! Except black cosmos... Ugh
I really hope nintendo don’t do anything about the trees on cliff edges thing
Shhh! Don't let them find out! lol
Its been months since the glitch came around, I think this one's here to stay.
why am I just now learning about hybrid flower Island being removed?? that's how I got my pink/blue wind flowers 🥺 I was so excited too, cause I had no idea it was a thing
I miss the broken spawn rates from the first month or so of the game's release. I could fill my entire inventory with peacock butterflies in less than half an hour. And I haven't been able to catch a barreleye fish since then, when I caught 4.
"A bit strange, can't really grow trees on concrete"
MY BOY, we live on an island with talking human animals and can catch a whole ass shark like nobody's business.
I think trees on pavement should have a pass.
It might be because I’m a new player to the AC series but Nintendo seems super intent on sucking the fun out of their game. Like some of the things that they end up patching out or removing feels kind of dumb and just removes any interest if playing the game for that long.
Nintendo straight up did not want there to be a way for people get to hybrids easily without having a Nintendo online acct.
Why’s that? Do you need a Nintendo online account to hybrid?
@@OPLPLL If you are the only one watering your flowers they have a 5% chance to reproduce. If you can get 5 visitors to water them they have an 80% chance to reproduce. Breeding is the easiest shit ever...
I've managed to bed everything alone except green mums and blue roses. I'm working on them now. There are so great videos out there
The star trees were so pretty, if they made it possible to plant 10 star frag in gold dig & only get three back it would eliminate risk of farming & make it a purely aesthetic thing
I remember getting a hybrid flower island the first week of the game! I took home lots of flowers and it had a lot of rare butterflies flying around. Unfortunately these flowers were coded differently and couldn’t be bred to make more flowers. Maybe that’s why it was removed? Code complications?
The pain I felt for you in the beginning when Bob asked to move away. 😂😭💔
I'm so happy you're getting sponsors now! :D
Am I the only one who noticed that bob tried to LEAVE during the intro?
no
The star frag trees got removed a little bit before the Wave 2 summer update
They also made it more difficult to get tarantulas and scorpions. I remember I used to make tarantula islands out of mystery islands, but since they changed the spawn rate of the water bug (idk if they messed with the spawn rate of tarantulas/scorpions too) it made it much harder to actually get them to make tons of bells easy.
Getting nook miles is so hard especially when you want to villager hunt, I still haven’t gotten Lily ever since 2020 😭
You and Mayor Mori need to start a podcast together 😁
YESSS
I miss the hybrid flower island 😔
9:40 Actually I believe they didn’t use that glitch! The shrubs cover up the grass pretty well when placed next to a custom path so it sorta gives off the effect that its planted onto the path when it’s actually not lol.
Oh one other thing, once you have your hybrids, when you water (or wait for rain) a patch you'll often get more of the same but sometimes the parent plant will show. Its really quite relaxing and fun!
My island can be considered the new "Rare Flower Island."
i actually found one of those rare flower islands on my third island trip, got a bunch of black and pink roses and brought them home, now i have tons on my island
Geez black roses on your third day of playing
@@smashbrosguyt915 i know, super lucky. at first i only was able to bring 5 home because of inventory space but accedentally grew a bunch more when i placed them next to my other roses
That explains why I haven't been able to get back to Hybrid Flower Island. It was my favorite island, I bought so many tickets to try to get there. Especially at night when all the emperor butterflies were out. It was beautiful.
I got a bunch of roses from that island. The orange roses I got from there gave me blue roses, and my home-grown oranges weren't giving me any. So that was a huge help.
Earth day nook miles can have 2 reasons why it was removed
I actually tried making some type of star trees wish one of my glowy areas, at the end of the day I just got sad
I never knew there we're hybrid flower islands!! 😲 I feel cheated. I never got to see one 😫😭
My island has mums. So I got pink and purple mums. These are very easy to breed. Really no benefit.
Bob's Gang
The next thing they're going to patch out is placing stuff on the 4th tier. Which is going to make me sad when they finally take it away because I have a nice little snowy peak on my island that I love.
You called it
Tbh playing animal crossing new horizons for the first time is harder now than last year
I got the hybrid island so much nostalgia can't believe it's been a year 😩
I'm pretty sure I know why hybrid island was removed.
Crossing Channel, “Hybrid Flower Island was very rare and hard to get to.”
Also Crossing Channel, “I’ve been to Hybrid Flower Island many times and got 1,000s of flowers.”
When I played at launch I found the big fish hybrid flower island, it sucks that the hybrid flower islands are gone now
when he said the stringfish was really rare, it made me feel nice bc i've caught 2
...i've also caught over 10 oarfish, please help-
I really wish I could put a tree right up against a cliff.
Bob's gang!
