Good ideas. We use Allstays it gives you name of campground phone number and address. It tells you how far you are away you can go to their website and get route from app. It gives you photos of campground, amenities and price range by how many $ are listed. It gives you a star rating and reviews. I made a weeks reservations in Panguitch Ut. From SC before we left and used this app. To find places on the way there and back. Never had an issue finding a stay luckily. We use Around Me and Garmin GOS for areas of attractions.

You are right,the modern cell phone is a amazing tool. I like to use gas buddy to look ahead, especially when crossing state lines. Is it cheaper or more expensive in the next state. You know all those brochures about places and things to do at major rest stops and "Welcome" centers? Look at Visitor tips this app has all those brochures for where you are on line.
Thanks for the "tip" William! ;) Regarding GasBuddy, one thing they have on their website that unfortunately isn't in the app (at least that I can find) is their gas price heat map www.gasbuddy.com/GasPriceMap that lets you quickly and easily see, via color temperature, which areas are more and less expensive.

Unfortunately I was not able to get the Navigator, Road Breakers or FlowX. 😞 It was because not available on iPhone or not available in my area. Thanks Tom! I'll admit that I had RV Parky at one time, but didn't keep it as I don't recall seeing boondocking spots. Has that changed, or have I lost my mind?

It only give the overnighters, like Cracker Barrel, Pilot, Flying J, road rest stops, Walmarts, in addition to the paid RV parks for longer stays. It doesn't show all paid parks either, as there are more than listed elsewhere. I just like the layout and data in the app, it's easy to use. However Campendium is better if you have an Iphone, or laptop with you.
@@GrandAdventure freecampsites.net/ is another website to find free camping. There is an Android app, but it basically looks like it's using Chrome browser to access the data. It has a lot of forest locations.
Thank you Sharon. Waze is a wonderful app, we used to use it extensively. Once Google started using the police trap info from Waze, we moved over to Google Maps ourselves. But we still love Waze.

Marc, have you tried RainDar, great up to the minute radar, real time and overhead. Cops use it a lot in tornado area's especially at night. Another great video and topic. Thanks for sharing. Very interesting and helpful.
Any recommendations on a terrestrial version of Satellite Director...an app that will help me orient my rooftop antenna before I scan for channels? I know there are web sites for this but an app would be useful.

Hi Mike the antenna app I found to be best is called Tower Finder. It has a virtual reality / like using binoculars and as you use your smart phone as you would a pair of binoculars and it shows you what direction to point your antenna. And it’s free. Enjoy my Friends

Grand Adventure we have not got brave enough for boondocking yet, but you seem to have it down pat.

Good info as usual! Don't forget WAZE. I had to use that when Google Maps needed a new restart.
