You are by far the best CZcamsr named Mark who reviews weird movies.
Oh hai Mark!
I concur!
Easily, as for as I know.
I'm better but Mark's pretty cool too
Second best probably.
More like ToBORING! Am I right?
I’ll see myself out.
“Basically it’s a garage door opener with extra steps.” This is a great description of most technology.
"The future sucks." Looking back to 20 years ago. Can confirm. It will only get worse.
Sadly, the tuth.
@@Kae6502I know bro! I belong in the 1850’s maaaannn! I would own so many slaves! Fr no cap
No, no the present doesn't suck on an objective level. I study history.
For YOU, maybe. I will be crowned King after the new Crusade.
Being homeless sucks
With these inserts getting better and better, Mark is moving closer to releasing a movie "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid" style.
"All work and no play makes tobor a dull boy"
I just realized the actor who plays the kid is Billy Chapin, who is also known for playing John in The Night of the Hunter, which came out the year after this one.
Billy Chapin was born on December 28, 1943 in Los Angeles, California, USA. He was an actor, known for The Night of the Hunter (1955), Tobor the Great (1954) and Violent Saturday (1955). He died on December 2, 2016 (72)
Night of the Hunter is an under appreciated gem!
Always a good day when Mark has a new episode!
You're the only CZcamsr I know of (probably for a good reason) that will go through and review these old b movies, it's genuinely entertaining and considering how boring these movies tend to be (i know from experience) i appreciate your sacrifice. o7
Brandon Tenold you tube channel & Mark FanboyFlicks you tube channel always manage to find most weirdest films most of us never even heard of
Brandon Tenold also reviews old B-movies.
there are a few others, but Mark's sense of humor really stands out among them imo. Plus he puts himself in the movies and does little skits; those are always fun!
Cinema Snob, Brandon Tenold, Nostalgia Critic, Double Toasted, there are a few, and I watch them all, even when they review the same movies. Also if you want to watch free bad movies, check out the Rifftrax twitch channel, it is a lot of fun, and the Rifftrax youtube channel
I too appreciate his sacrifice
Mark, this is a friendly reminder that Neil Breen new movie is coming out soon. Get that tuna cans ready :) And also: great episode, as always :)
Gadge is like the American version of the little Japanese kid who is the only one who can communicate with Godzilla.
I mean, the robot is telepathic, so maybe it sensed his emotions (from that far away), and found them.
yes, and is suicidal enough to run into freakish levels of danger on a regular basis, but is totally blithe about it.
Your comedy and content has has gotten so great over the years!
I love how excited Mark gets just imagining "The Shining" with a robot; he reverts to being a wide-eyed 8-year-old kid looking forward to his next adventure.
"Heeeeere's Johnny 5!"
17:13 I can't stop laughing at the guy trying to slam his fist through solid metal, howling in pain, then immediately trying it a second time with the exact same painful results loooool
Lol! I missed that. The right hand didn't work, but surely the left hand will...
Another fantastic program Mark.
50s sci-fi is amazing. Pre space travel imagination. Walking robots even though it's the most difficult robot to make operate. Fire axes just placed in random rooms.
Well, doesn't every wine cellar need an axe or two?
Fire axes for the zombie threat.
I wish modern hollywood could put out 1% of the humor and jokes you put into your videos.
You are right for the Shining easter eggs here and there, because Stephen King was a kid going to the movies at this time. I see so many things in his books taken from the old movies, mostly 50s and 60s.
There was a low budget cartoon from the 1960s called "Tobor, The 8th Man" and he powered up by smoking cigarettes
You know it’s gonna be good when it’s a B&W episode! Also, I remember watching one of your vides when you talked about how you edited yourself into the movies you covered, sounded like a unique pain in the ass, I think this is the first time I’ve seen you do it when the characters were moving (at least initially) so, nicely done!
funny I hate the older movie reviews - always prefer the 70's to current films but there is something for everyone. I am watching this one so I guess it isn't that bad
It's the suit
I agree! The last B&W ones are my faves
Thanks! I enjoy the challenge of trying to make it look I'm actually in the movie
@@1980Triumph If you don't like certain movies just because they were made before you were born, then you have no business calling yourself a fan.
'i think most kids are pretty evil to a degree.' as a school bus driver, i can confirm this statement.
Huh. That side-tangent about the origin of "a bakers dozen" was actually informative. The more you know...
Nice. Thanks, Mark! 👍
This is the ONLY channel that I stay through to the end of the credits. There is marks extra video and then that song I will never get tired of. Thank you for sharing the credit for it. These videos are always amazing work that is simply incomparable. That amazing song tops it all off to make this holistically a cardinal experience.
This one and Ryan George. He has commercials at the end that are always entertaining.
Robot spelled backwards, that's effing hilarious.
Right? They couldn't even be bothered to name the thing.
"Tobor the Great is out there! It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop... ever -but who cares."
As a kid I always dreamed of riding a silverback gorilla to school. I would pay for a robotized version of The Shining! There's no doors in Spaaaace. Great video once again.
I recognized Nordstrum's digs. Isn't that the front of the Barkley mansion from The Big Valley? Audra getting chased after by yet another insane pretty boy, or Heath brooding all Elvis-like in the background would have been cool.
Wait! Rimless glasses guy shoots at Tobor while in the car, but the windshield doesn't shatter? Well, that just takes me out of the movie.
Come on Mark. "Chopping Mall" also had robots.
Also Willy's Wonderland, Tammy and the T-Rex, Star Crash, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, Robot Wars and Yor, the Hunter from the Future
Hey Mark, if you ever find yourself in England, we have a pub in Nottingham where the bathrooms are hidden behind a bookcase. It’s not opened by pulling the copy of Everybody Poops but it’s something.
@14:40 Love how the father uses the son as a human shield. lol
That remote control for the robot was the best looking part of the movie. Some proper raygun-gothic vibes in that one prop!
In the shootout scene, note that Ralph drops down BEHIND the kid, using him as a human shield. Someone get child protective services on the line!
the bit with the list hit me hard (pun intended) laughed so hard , thank you Mark for you being you and being awesome 😂
"Families ruin everything." True story.
*Two of the actors (Charles Drake & WIlliam Schallert) went on to appear in original Star Trek episodes. And the boy actor (Billy Chapin) was the brother of Lauren Chapin, who played "Kathy" in "Father Knows Best" - whose TV mother (Jane Wyatt) and TV older sister (Elinor Donahue) both went on to also appear in original Star Trek. As for the multi-columned house, it was used in such TV shows as "The Big Valley", "The Wild Wild West" and many other TV series back in the 1960's. Finally, character actor "Henry Kulky" (chubby workman/bad guy) went on to play "Chief Petty Officer Jones"* in the first season of TV's "Voyage To The Bottom of the Sea" but died and was replaced by the character of "Sharkey".*
The walk behind Tobor scene was just like Robocop's ED209 scene, and equaly as exciting. Hey maybe Tobor is Robocops grandfather Pocobor
So relatable. I'm watching this in my garage, hiding from family, faking chores.😂
came for the robot...
stayed for the pro-bakery rant...
I always thought bakers were just nice people.
Kinda puts the Subway Footlong lawsuit into a historic perspective.
There was also a remote-control toy back in the '80s called "Tobor". I think I'd prefer a movie about that.
I love Mark’s ability to make mundane topics so hilarious when he inserts himself into these scenes. The whole bit about the Baker’s dozen was hilarious and completely random 😂
I can't believe that those pitch meetings and other similar content creators have millions of views and you haven't hit it yet. You are easily one of my favorite people on CZcams.. ugh keep your head up man, you'll make it.
100%
I wanted an army of giant robot ants as a kid - mostly to deal with bullies.... :)
I also found folks who wanted to conqueror everything like Skeletor and Blofeld quite relatable as a kid.
So yea, as a kid I was mildly evil and I doubt I was the only one. :D
My favorite YT channel by far. And it’s getting better with each episode
Man, and it comes from the heart : you're the funniest dude around in the movie critic content. Never stop please !
OMG, I just realized....TOBOR IS "NILBOG" spelled backward!!! I love you mark, you always make me laugh, ❤
As soon as the guy said that all the chairs were filled, I thought: _"It's Mark, isn't it?"_
Big kudos to Mark for being my favorite (BDSM-loving) comedian.
Doesn't every 🏡 have a "kink" room? 😎
Thanks for the laughs
You need to put out more content! I’ve rewatched all your old stuff multiple times, and it always takes so long before a new one hits the airwaves.
Your channel is one of the most underrated CZcams channels
I have a feeling that the Talking Grandfather Clock is just a regular clock that the family make Grandpa live in, and he has a mush tube, a water tube, waste hole and a digital clock.
Lmao😂, when Mark made the list appear and inserting himself had me laughing so hard, my abs got a decent workout!
“I got my 22!”
😂😂 idk why that cracked me up
I can NOT get over the idea of a grandfather clock that you have to yell at to ask for the time, then listen to a sad old grandpa voice tell me the time in some antiquated manner, instead of just like... you know... using my eyes to look at.. at the clock... like how clocks work already....
The way people imagined sci-fi in these days is always so fascinatingly bizarre
A better name for the robot would have been FUBAR!
At least Gadget Hackwrench was carefully designed to look cute, unlike that kid.
Nordstrom was clearly distracted by worries about his department store chain.
They could have used TOBOR's emotion-sensing ability to give the audience a hint that something is off about the presentation guests. Like, it senses a bad vibe in the room or points to one of the innocent guests as sort of a red herring. Or, maybe I'm overcomplicating a kids movie.
Dont forget Chopping Mall was about robots as well!
I’ve been saying for years that when I can afford to build my dream house, there will be so many secret rooms and passages! I blame this on all the movies I’ve watched and books I’ve read. I kept hoping I’d get lucky when I purchased my first home, but, no, boring old non-secret rooms only…
When I was a kid, I saw newspaper advisement for the movie The Electronic Monster (1958) with images of robots. It was playing as a double feature with 13 Ghosts (1960). A monster robot and a ghost movie, I'm in! Alas there were no robots and no monsters. It was a movie about a psychiatric clinic that electronical implants imagery into clients' brains. I felt so gypped,
Hey, at least 13 Ghosts sounds kind of cool, with the whole "ghost goggles" gimmick.
I really wish we could have seen a version of you in the accelerator with your face flattened out! That would have been epic!
"Let's go, Vadge! Hurry!"
"Gadge".
"Whatever."
Literally never miss one episode
When Mark shows up: "Oh cool, a new WWMM video."
When it's Black and White and Mark's in a suit: "LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOO!"
Oh how I'm always excited when I see you've made a new video.
Its ridiculous how much I've re watched some of your stuff.
Makes my day!
Yet another hilarious review. Thank you, @FanboyFlicks 👍🏻
The look on Nordstrms face! And the Bakers dozen very interesting thank you
Tobor is Robot backwards, what a twist!
Well, NASA found seven guys and called them “Mercury Astronauts”. All of them wanted to be first. The most famous among them was a Marine named John Glenn. He became a Senator and the oldest man to go into space. He went on the Space Shuttle. Anyway, he ended up going third. The first was a guy named Alan Shepard. He was a Navy guy. He actually walked on the moon too. He was actually the coolest to do it because he played golf on the moon. Anyway, there were a lot of guys that wanted to be the first to ride the rocket. They were badasses that made history.
I'm still laughing over that note.
That baker's dozen bit got me good. Great video!
Finally someone who will speak up for the bakers.
I had to pause the video and get all my laughing over without after hearing "Tobor the Disappointing."
Mark! Thanks for another one!
Well done, Mark. It's always good to see a video post from you. They certainly take the "stress" out of the work week. :)
The skits are so good, i know its a lot of work but thank you Mark. 👍
Tobor being telepathic, makes no sense. Just like Mark not shaving when he travels back in time when everyone had a smooth baby face lol.
Re: Baker's dozen. This goes all the way back to Rome, believe it or not. There were laws and rights surrounding bread for the citizens, so bread was weighed and branded so any bread underweight, adulterated or fraudulent could be tracked back to the baker. It should be noted that most people didn't cook at home in Rome because of fire risk, so communal ovens or getting your bread from a baker was the standard!
Couldn't have come at a better time. Going through something at the moment and you always make me forget my troubles for about 20 minutes :)
Hope you feel better❤ This too shall pass.
@@deez2569 Going through a break up, but then I remind myself that I have my health and that life is amazing, even if it sucks in that way right now. Plus, if it all works out, I will have found a new friend through it. Thank you for your kindness.
@@isabellezoey I always like to remind myself that I laughed and loved before them, and I will again. Then again, I'm purposefully single for going on 8 years and I've never been happier! Watching hilarious videos like these really help whenever I'm down!
Speaking of space travel :) NASA brought John Glenn to watch an Atlas launch, (it was an Air Force test of the missile not the one he was going to ride) and it exploded moments after leaving the pad. Glenn's comment? "Well now that we've got that out of the way, when do I go up?"
Thank you Mark, I've had a shit day and to come home to see a new video posted by you has just made my night!!
I'm so glad I found this channel!!

This has become a saying of mine over the past few years. Hearing it in this video made me feel more seen than I have in decades.
This was one of your better video in a while! And I really like your ch so.. Kudos young sir👌🏼😊
0:52 It really looks like they were having problems drawing the robot. They just kind of drew the robot around the woman so try not to think of how she's being carried or what she's putting her weight on because they sure didn't. And then there's the face. The head, neck... it'd be easier just to say, "and then there's the everything."
I enjoyed the baker dozens lecture 😂. Why are Mark's videos so soothing and funny both at the same time - no matter what movie they are about?
Always a great day when a new program comes out
The thrill and mistery of counting chairs. Only in "Tobor The Great".
Would highly recommend Xtro. Movie’s got so much creepy alien shit going on, and it even has a sequence involving a kid controlling not a robot, but his toys that try to and kill some of the adults in the apartment building. It’s closest thing that comes to mind for “kid makes robot go on a shinning killer rampage.”
I see a lot of parallels with The Prisoner too: government agent quits his job, winds up at a secret location with futuristic surveillance equipment everywhere...maybe Tobar is the "Rover" of the movie.
needed a new vid this week !
Keep up the videos. I crack up watching your videos before bed almost every night.
Hey, it's the kid from Night Of The Hunter. Now that's a movie.
Superb editing, Mark.
Glad to see you back in form Mark with some old weird movie. Also medieval history facts! (well I'm going run this past a few sources to confirm), but great!
This was great! Something else you may want to give your treatment to is the infamous "open crotch" pose that occurs again and again in movie posters. It promises peek-a-boo thrills to moviegoers and sometimes delivers, but more often than not it's just another dirty trick.
@6:00 the robot stopped you from doing exactly what I told you it would do! Amazing! 😂
When I was buying my house, I was in the kitchen signing the papers and the lawyer said “ did you know you have a secret room in your house?” Of course, I did not. There’s a room behind my refrigerator!
Mark HOW could you forget Chopping Mall, that’s one of the best! And Willy’s Wonderland as well
Love it. Another great one, Mark
I've often thought life would be much easier if it came with a soundtrack. Suspicous music starts playing, you know to start paying attention to that sketchy guy across the street.
I can imagine the meeting to pitch this movie .. We will name him .. uh .. Tobor because its a robot, get it? That is creativity right there.
