- I disassemble the 442 tail lights and sand and polish the plastic lens and plastic chrome trim. I use a 3M Headlight Cleaning Kit. It makes them look very close to new!!

Big Thanks to HAFRODs for the Aluminum Polish idea / @haffrods7055
Thank you for teaching us the step by step!!! You are a master!!!
Thank you. You're too kind.
That mother's, never dull and diamond brite truck box polish are the only products I use to polish metal and plastics. They are all great products.
Watch out for that Hafrod guy, he's crazy. Lol. Nice job man. I have Cutlass tail lights that have been in a box for 25 years. I didn't know they were worth that much. I'm hoarding Cutlass parts in hopes that I end up with an 83 or 84 Hurst Olds one day
YES! Do it! Even if it's a clone. I outright stole a bunch of ideas from you on your Salon build back on gbodyforum.
How much for the taillights?
Looks great!!!👌🏾
Thanks!!
love watching your videos
Thank you sir!!
Hmmm guess im gonna have to polish my seat chrome covers on the Hurst/Olds
Do it. You won't be sorry.
Got a better trick I've used a few times. Wet sand the lens with 1000 - 2000. I used a red stained glass paint. I put it on light, then 2 heavy coats to where it almost ran but didn't. You'd never know it wasn't plastic. The only downside is, the light isn't quite as bright going through the lens. At night it is no problem, but during the day it is lighter.
Can you restore the reverse lights and put up the video??
Soon. It's on my list of things.
Nice!!
Keith Burwell has these !
He is on facebook !
How do u contact him
mine have the white stress marks at the top i wonder if this would help salvage them?! killer video and killer results
Thanks for the compliment! I would say give it a try. You have nothing to loose but some of your time. Even if you have to buy the 3M kit, now you can do headlights, tail lights, Gauge dust covers, you name it.
@@hutchhiperf hey thanks for the reply man! I agree nothing to lose it'll improve it some anyway lol I did my cluster last year when I changed the bulbs and repainted my needles as well LOL currently chasing a fuel issue and not making enough money makes it hard so im just piddling around with little stuff now until I can afford my next jegs order
Nice video!!!!!
Thank you!
How much you charge to do them
Just wanted this again for the third time. Gonna finally give it a go on mine 2morow. Did you sell those yet?
Sold in a week.
Just got done doing mine. Turned out perfect. Thanks for the video 💪🏼💪🏼🔥🙏🏼🙏🏼
@@jeremiahjudy558 Glad to hear it! It's amazing what some TLC will do for those.
Does 87 taillights have small cracks? I have same model year Cutlass Supreme, with cracks.
No. It was fine. It looked like casting flash on the inside of the lens.
What did you use to take off the center logo caps I am replacing my tail lights the replacements do not have the center cap the old ones do just want to be able to get them off without breaking them
The easy answer is time. As in they were so old, one fell off during disassembly 😆 The other I just used a small pocket screwdriver flat blade and was very careful. They're glued in (both the center and chrome bezel) so be very careful and it should pop out.
@@hutchhiperf awesome thanks!
@@brookeabbott432 No prob. Good luck with the resto!
What brand of wax did you use?
Meguiars PlastX
In what order did u go, and
What we’re all the supplies?
Check this video for the headlight kit. czcams.com/video/QWWNb7nPu0k/video.html
I started with 500 grit then to 800 and the the 3000 trizact and then polishing
@@hutchhiperf does that kit come with all sandpaper that’s needed? Thank you so much for the info I can’t wait to try it on myn
@@mravila2537 yes it does
How can separate seam to relax from inside ?
? One more time?
Just saw the seam between the lens and the backing but old plastic I think maybe a glue softener like goo gone might help, any suggestions? TIA
@@joelprefontaine1886 not really. I never tried to split one of those open before.
@@hutchhiperf Sand them with very fine sandpaper and finally with a lot of steel wool and give it a coat of clear coat, I have done it on my car, it was a nice end result
@@hutchhiperf remember to spoil the wife in the same way and it can't go wrong 🤭
Do you know where I get power seat assay 1987 olds cutlass supreme
gbodyparts.com, ebay, etc.
Im gonna guess 400 for the tail lights.🤔
$350 to a GBodyForum member. If they didn't sell there, they would have been 400 on ebay.
@@hutchhiperf ahh, ok. Thanks for the reply. I was close though.😄👍☮

And have a happy holiday's!!
No, sorry. Fleabay has them. A good set will cost between $250 and $350. Be prepared.
@@hutchhiperfThanks for
Your reply and excuse my
Late one". That's not to bad
Of a price ..Thnk u...
@@valascomptone7946 no problem. Good hunting.
You are a liar it don’t make it shine I no done try it and it don’t work
????? Which part, the plastic lens or the plastic chrome? If the chrome part is pitted and grey, no, it won't work. You have to have something to start with. As for the plastic lens, I did that in front of the camera (I can't afford CGI) it does work. No more coffee today.
