do hunters season 2 😭😭😭
weird as hell and 100% convinced i need to watch!
I cried when the last conversation took place with Celeste as proxy. This show was surprisingly enjoyable.
I love this show. It's so absolutely bonkers, hilarious, entertaining and even deep -- it's like experiencing Terry Pratchett or Douglas Adams for the first time.
Just started reading discworld and can confirm this 😂
@Orange-zq7pn Right?! Haha! Ohhh, I'm so excited for you starting Discworld. Enjoy! ❤️
it does feel a lot like Douglas Adams, now that you mentioned it
Something this bonkers has no right to be this poignant
Magnificent ending to a wonderful show. In the end, I think Mrs Davis was in some ways a man-made god, and like jesus, loved simone enough to give her life for her happiness. Everything she did was ultimately benevolent. I have a pet theory that somehow mrs davis was an extension of the virgin mary.
I loved wiley’s plotline and how it echoed arthurian legend such as gawain and the green knight. He proved his courage by returning to an appointment with death. It weaves together wonderfully with the knights templar and the quest for the holy grail.
I usually roll my eyes whenever shroedlinger’s cat is used in fiction but here it works beautifully. Being alive and dead in the tomb, alive and dead in the piano, alive and dead in the box, in the belly of the whale, etc plays with the themes of faith and science in a fun way.
The overarching theme of love, mother daughter relationships, and personal destiny are all explored expertly.
I adore this show.
good observations.
Considering what a wild ride the show is in terms of concepts and ideas the scripts are really well and tidely crafted with expertly placed plants and payoffs, or how beautifully synched both Riley and Simone made their highest stakes leap of faith or the perfect alignment when Celeste was Davis' proxy. Also as you said the exploration of themes and dueling ideas like care vs satisfaction represented by Jay and Mrs Davis and generally how well they played Mrs Davis out as a metaphor for religion and how people will not question the sense of suggestions or commandments as long as they provide a good feeling of purpose. There are so many perspectives from which you can read this story and they balanced it out so nicely that it neither feels like this was bashing christianity nor AI in general. I also love that these writers are clearly very aware what the viewers would suspect at what point, so it was clever to have Riley voice all our scepticism about the reality of his expiration - and then we see him waver and with him our doubts that he represents in the scene.

I completely agree. I think it’s actually quite reverent, after a fashion. If religion is man made, it’s an attempt to improve the human condition, just as mrs davis was. In the show, jesus can address our internal needs, by feeding, listening to, and loving you, but is essentially removed from the physical plane. Mrs davis can provide materially, but in doing so strips the fulfillment away from characters like the magicians and poker players.
Whether or not she cares is up for debate. I don’t know if it truly matters. If her goal is your happiness, but she has no real internality and feels nothing, what could be more selfless?
In the end, both mrs davis and jesus serve others, but do not get to “eat” themselves. In the end, simone feeds them both, giving a sandwich to one, and a five star review to the other.
I think it’s a wonderfully rich story and very thought provoking.
The eighth episode was well and truly the one that made or broke the series. For me, it freaking MADE it.
@@waverlyking6045 great yep, love that they end it like the way it did, i was thinking it would be wacky but it had heart in the end.
I think it was an overarching theme, what is benevolent, what is selfish. Simone, her mother, Mary, the coin sisters all had motivations where selfifh, destructive desires also mixed with strong selfless benevolent intentions or results
This is potentially the best series of the year. That more people aren't talking about it is bonkers...but not as bonkers as the show itself.
I just binge watched the show and loved it. Has all the feels
>I thought you believe me, what happened to your faith?
>Maybe it wandered when you got to the sneaker commercial
Loved that part! 😂
This show exceeded my expectations. Had me feeling deferent emotions through out.
I really liked this show. I read that there are no plans for a season 2. I think it's good as it is.
The ending definitely made me rethink about AI. Very original show, instantly sold me with the premise.
Thank you for your wonderful & excellent video. i just finished watching Mrs. Davis this week & loved it. There are scenes & characters from this series that will stay with me forever
Feels more like a summary than an explanation, but appreciate you putting it together
This was the wildest effing ride ever
I haven't watched this show, but I swear, the actual plot beat of this show, are fucking insane. I thought I was a joke at first.
It is *absolutely* wild. I loved it!!!
it was such a human story in spite being absolutely wild bonker. fully enjoyed it
Quirky and funny series with enough suspense and off-ball story shifts and surprises that keep viewers hooked to see what happens on this seemingly mighty and potentially un-winnable quest.
Other thoughts:
1. Tying in the old man’s quest for his spouse’s piano with Celeste’s quest to find her ex husband and how he ended up inside a piano
2. Clever use / reference to Schrödinger’s cat paradox and puzzle and eventually how to destroy the grail. ( Die first in order to destroy & Thoughtfulness vs thoughtlessness)
3. References to Ahab’s white whale quest and Jazebell rodeo (both biblical figures).
I was taking my break as a manager of BWW and learning about this app almost made peanut butter sandwiche come up my nose
Outstanding show. Of two mind about terminating Mrs D. She provided 100% customer satisfaction.
I think that's the point - technology around us often provide much satisfaction but you're still addicted to it which isn't good.
I was hooked since the fighting nuns in the beginning and it kept being great.
Loved this show and you did a fine job with the explanation.
Okaaaay.... I love your videos, this was intriguing...
This show was a very nice surprise. Very enjoyable and entertaining. Over the top where it had to be and all fun.
So in the end she was faced with the same choices as anyone playing an SMT game.
I loved this how very much, and yes I was very Triggered by the blasphemous parts.
But...
1) Tell people what they want to hear, don't tell them the truth
2) Mercy and Forgiveness is the greatest gift you can give someone.
I love this show so much, and very grateful I stuck it out.
I gave up on this show about the fourth episode. Thanks for the synopsis. While I didn’t enjoy the show, it was refreshingly original.
Mrs. Davis promised she would shut down; but she did not say for how long, when the wind mill started back up it is because it came back online. IT fulfilled Simone's request by shutting down regardless of how briefly.
I loooooved this!!! Curious if there will be a season 2
The creators want to make a S2, but they wanted to wrap up the season in a satisfying way and not leave people on a cliffhanger in case it doesn't get renewed. Got this info from the Bustle article about the show.
@@SilverScale. i really hope they don’t. There’s really nowhere left for the story to go and all another season would do is risk spoiling a beautiful ending
@@razzledazzle15 Sometimes things should just end. I wouldn't be opposed to a wildly different story with some tangential relation to the characters in this series, but a continuation would be disappointing.
I would definitely like season 2, but yes they creators really have a tough job at hand. Matching S01 would be really tough.
All questions answered except 1. Who was the British who claimed Mathilde was his wife and he knew Clara. But other than that it was great show. Superb. Original concept, well written and well acted. The way the show connected all the timelines in the end was really great.
My take is that Mother Superior told Simone about the good side of Mrs. Davis, so that she didn't drink from The Grail for selfish reasons - to destroy The Algorythm. So her head wouldn't explode. And at the end, Simone's mother started turning the windmill. Because she was freed from her problems with Simone and her husband. So she tried something new that would make her happy
Now (Summer 2023) there is this continuing Writers & now Actors strike going on so = no new shows for a while. That means THIS show will get an audience it might not have gotten before and I’m really happy about that. It is just so incredibly original, odd, funny, clever, weird - all of it! But entertaining, and that’s why we watch TV. 🙂
A surprisingly great show!
This so was so off the rails the entire time, I loved it.
I think that Mrs. Davis even ask the purpose of his making, question the linearity of its purpose and wanted grasp the idea of purpose in the terms of achieving freedom
I missed half of the details but still loved it
I would like to see an interview with the creators and writers of MRS DAVIS. 😉👍
Damn I want to see this show and lord knows when it will get to the UK.
Thanks!
Thank you :)
was this a miniseries? was that the end end?
Your outlook seemed unbiased and a fair opinion. You did fill in those last tears or bends in a huge puzzle piece (and those irke the most. Unsolved mysteries if you will). Good job
The white horse is unexplainable because they showed the double take and follow through.
But id like to believe that since we can't change our past. In that scene simone "shared her knowledge" (integrated/uploaded with mrs davis mfullfilling the satisfation part of everyone, and by learning as the ai and integrating compassion at that point. Starting with bringing back her white horse. (Concept finished).
More indepth: One of the components that jesus possessed and would teach is Compassion, selflessness, empathy, giving etc
Turn the other cheek
Do unto others
How do you think they feel
All is worthless until experienced.
Wisdom
The road is not paved until someone makes a squiggly outrageous line.
Then the cogs and wheels of all manners start moving in all directions of criticism to praise.
But mrs davis computed at that monent what was imprtant for simones happines, integrated jesus's will through her, being his wife and all. This is teaching andbreaching a base concept of morals and values.
But the more selfish we get we miss the main topic.
Free will is what we craved and what we no are telling eachother to shut up about.
Next step: being happy with what you have
Theres your snake eatting its own tail.
They better not cancel this masterpiece like they did Raised by Wolves and West World.
It’s a mini series they never intended to make more
@@beccabasson4285 Oh, word? I assumed it was gonna be a series. I guess Damon has been scared off by the rampant cancellations the past few years. I guess he’s just doing movies and mini series now. 🤔
it was her mum peddling at the end to make the windmill go
Don't forget to give some credit to Tara Hernandez
Binge watched this show and its surprisingly an amazing show its a shame that it has low rating on imdb its very good show
Some prolly dropped at earlier episodes, the payoff is to really watch it til the end
this is like the preacher series but less offensive with not so much dark humor
maybe i check it out
LOCE THS SHOW AND SO HAPPY TO SEE JAKE MCDORMAN SINCE THEY CANCELLED THE LIMITLESS SERIES
Celeste operates the Windmill in the end.
What I’m still scratching my head about is, how did Mrs Davis know that the Holy Grail was real, that Jesus needed her to find it in order to be free, etc? did Mary use the algorithm to put Simone on this quest?
I think this was explained in the last episode with Joy. It’s number one rule was “100% satisfaction is the holy grail.” Ms Davis is AI, it most likely confusingly generated a quest to find and destroy the holy grail from that statement. Maybe Ms Davis being slightly aware that it wants to actually destroy its own number one rule of satisfying everyone completely. That’s why Simone was so special, because she did not want to be satisfied in that way. She was always honest and was the best person to actually grade ms Davis’ app experience. I think the fun bonkers part of the show was coincidently having the holy grail actually exist in this universe. And on Simone’s literal quest to find the holy grail, she meets Mary, who also wanted this destroyed in order to free Jesus. A lot of this is literal and metaphorical simultaneously, which makes this show so great I think. 😅
Explanation of ending: "a white horse means diviinity" that's it? This should have been called, "Brief Summary of Mrs Davis"
"Comfort is no reason to ignore reality" (a quote from the series)
Mrs. Davis was a marketing tool. Religion has had some marketing tools to retain its popularity, so long ago that most people don't know and put their faith into it without this knowledge.
"Mrs. Davis" is a show that says: yes, religion did bring good things, but the time has come for us to leave it behind us and learn to stand on our own two feet finally. Stop needing the wings, just be a good person without expecting some made-up reward.
Fantastic message, and as expected it's already running into ears that don't want to hear it.
that lady has a rockin body
please Breakdown silo
Kino
I did think the series was blasphemous in some points. Sleeping with Jesus? Having to free Jesus? -
I however, enjoyed other aspects of the show. All in all, I left it as a fictional show, and with that in mind, it's a 10/10
Yeah when I saw the Virgin Mary old & she acting like a sinner, I cringed out of embarrassment for blasphemy
5 stars !!!
So, no season 2 or what? The windmill says yes.
Watching this breakdown I felt like he was talking about 8 different shows lol
Wtf was this
Exactly: WTF was that?! LOL - I thought it was great, if a little bit too "clever" at times. But certainly worth watching.
Probably an AI generated film fittingly enough.
Never seen this show but this guy looks like Duke Nukem lol 0:48
I think Celeste is The one who make windmail WOrk again.
I have vere important question. Why Mrs Davis wants to destroy holly grail?Maybe I miss it but I will be very happy if you answer!!!
*huh?*
What a wild ride...
I thought it was good until about 3-4 episodes and it lost me . I finished it but idk it they made the right choice only doing 1 season
what did i just watch. 🤔
wake me when they do this to mohammed
He was at the diner briefly, i believe.
I lost the 3 brain cells i had left watching this review
Seriously wtf
This is just a recap. It is useless to people who seen the show. It is also useless to people who haven't seen the show as it is gives everything away fro the beginning.
BWW 🍗😂😂😂
As much as I love Betty Gilpin I had no intention of ever seeing this, and now I'm kinda glad I didn't. This seems to be trying too hard to be quirky. Much easier to consume a 10 minute video that saves me the trouble, but the solution is always to choose freedom over blissful slavery.
Every quirk had a purpose. It's not "trying too hard," it's an "intricate and bonkers way to tell a story."
I’m sorry. You cheated yourself out of a good story. It was the best thing I’ve seen on tv in a very long time.
@@razzledazzle15 I'll live. Glad you enjoyed it, but chances are I would have either quit earlier or skipped through most of it anyway.
@@julius-stark that’s fair.
@@julius-stark That's doubtful. This video summary doesn't at all capture the pace and nuanced sarcasm of the actual show.
crap
I thought sexualizing Christ was disgusting
Totally pales in comparison compared to the actual hatred and atrocities committed in Christ's name for the last 20 centuries or so ... right up to this day.

@@laurel.o Apparently that doesn't concern you anywhere near as much.
Sex is natural. It's pretty shitty what Christianity has done to humanity. The real, flesh and blood Christ liked to fuck just like everyone else on this planet.

THE FEMINIST NUN PASSSSSSSSSSSS.
Jesus looks like Jesús to me
Woke show?
Ya bro Jesus was the original woke person
Altogether, not really. The character who coded mrs davis comes across as something of a parody of a wokester. Jesus is played by a dark-skinned actor but that’s basically mandatory at this point in time.
If by woke you mean it has some non-White actors...then yep. Better stay away, you might be too fragile to handle it.
Extremely blasphemous and awful. Pure nonsense.
the moment I saw this show I was like think story probably has a video about this lol
